Andy's back problem - minor surgery next Monday. He'll be back. Paris/WTF ??? Deffo by Jan '14.

Just read on the Bangkok Site that Andy has withdrawn from the tournament as he is going to undergo a surgical procedure this week. Hopefully this will sort out his back and he can get to playing with less discomfort.

I read that too Mickey. Let's hope that the surgery is a success and that Andy can play unhindered for the rest of his career. It might also stop some of his detractors claiming that there has never been anything wrong with his back - Ms Wade for instance!

Andy's back ... operation next week ... back to the tour ETA January 2014. :-(

The Bangkok website is saying that Andy has withdrawn because he is to undergo a 'surgical procedure'. I suppose, depending on what it is, he could be out for the rest of the season.

Problem is if it is a back operation, would he miss rest of season including the world tour finals less than 2 months away?

Did he play in DC through pain? Hope is not too serious and he's back soon! I guess we'll find out soon according to Thailand open more info

    Re: Andy's schedule 2013

he could have keyhole surgery and be able to get back to training in a short time, about 10 days or so. He is fit and well and has a great team around him.

    Re: Andy's schedule 2013

Neil Harman just tweeted that Andy's out of all the Asian tournies and quite possibly won't be back till 2014.

Mike Dickson of the Daily Mail saying it's "minor" back surgery but can any operation on the back be considered minor? Back injuries are so difficult to recover from. A long road ahead.

Oh dear, thought all three matches was a step to far in Croatia. There is nothing on Andy's web site yet but Neil Harman is usually in the know.
