My reaction too, Angie! I think that Andy's withdrawal was just him being sensible. He did promise us (and himself) that keeping healthy was now his #1 priority and it's good to see him sticking to that. He is still on the comeback trail, so we mustn't expect too much too soon. Last week was a real bonus!

I love Wimbledon, always have, always will. Yes I missed Andy and I was really down when I got off the tube in Southfields to the news of his withdrawal ... all the group I was with were. But we picked ourselves up and we still had an amazing week watching all the Brits with a bit of Rafa and DelPo thrown in and a lot of fun was had by all. No, there weren't the CC last night thrillers in the first week, that came in the second week which I watched on TV, but the weather was fantastic and we had a wonderful time.
Absolutely Caro. For the first year ever I didn't get to see much of Wimbledon this year and I missed it desperately - Andy or no Andy it's a magical fortnight. I actually find it a touch disrespectful to make any tournament, but especially one as old and prestigious as Wimbledon, all about any one player and that includes Andy (he'd say as much himself b/c he respects and enjoys watching lots of other players m and f). We all enjoy watching Andy most but suggesting a tourney's value/watchability hinges on the presence of a single player is the kind of thing the cowbell brigade come out with! - and personally that's not a road I'll ever be going down.

I will always watch Wimbledon if I can and the other slams as long as they are shown on platforms I can access. But plenty of other tournaments I would only watch a few big matches with particular players if Andy not there. Need a lot of spare time to be invested in a whole tennis match or several a week, and I could only afford to do that for somone I really care about - Andy. There are no others.

And Wimbledon first week was quite unexciting - 2nd week livened up as it usually does apart from damp squib finals.

Funny I thought the coverage of the women's was really good this year and particularly gripping.

    I enjoyed Wimbledon.

Not concerned about Andy. From what I saw, his mind is screaming to be back in the fray and he was delighted to be back on court, he was just frustrated that his tennis mind and his body are not yet in tip top form. Really glad to see him looking after himself. Roll on Cinci!

His website isn't much use, hasn't even been updated to include Cincinnati yet.
