Dimi's game is so right for grass; he played like a dream today and beat Ryan H in under an hour

JWT also looked good earlier and beat Mannarino easily.

Kyrgios retires at Queen's. A nasty slip at 4-4 that may well have aggravated an existing injury.

Was very disappointed when Nick had to retire. Would like to have seen more of him. My heart was in my mouth when he went down...I felt his pain. Fall did look awkward. And I really think he was looking forward to this tournament and was actually happy to be there. I suppose that now scuppers his doubles matches too?...poor Dom.

Disappointed that Kyle lost today - didn't seem to fight in the third set

Nice to see Denis got a wee bit of revenge today. I really don't think he expected to win at all. Kyle is a solid decent player but he does so bore me to tears.
Andy. Rafa. Milos. What's not to like?

Kyle really threw that away with a very poor service game. I think the pressure got to him but he really does have to learn how to cope with that. He needs to have a long talk with Andy, I think.

I thought it was a fair result. Even at the start of the match Denis looked like he had the bigger weapons with his serve and backahnd. He took the risks and on this occasion it paid off. Kyle didn't really assert himself as the much higher ranked player or use his home advantage and get the crowd revved up. I hope he can get into a tournament next week to get more grass match time before Wimby.

Certainly Tsonga and Dimitrov were pretty impressive and both could be tough quarter final opponents, frustrating for Nick but in the circumstances best to quit. Whilst Kyle was disappointing ,Denis did take it to him and seems to have come on-hopefully Edmund performs better in the weeks ahead though.
