Wow, wow and wow!!!! Brilliant, brilliant from the boys and a wonderful run from the girls. A great shame for Usain Bolt that it should end like that but it doesn't take one iota away from his glittering career.

Great run. Sad for Bolt but don't think he'd have got there anyway.

.......................................... but it would have been nice for him to cross the line in his last race. GB now fourth in the medal table - well done guys!!!!

GB now fourth in the medal table and third in the placing table - not bad for an insignificant dot on the map!

Congratulations Mo - gold medal in the 10K and silver medal in the 5K is no mean achievement. Congratulations too on an amazing career and thanks for all the happy memories he has given us especially in the London stadium.

Best of luck for more success on the road.

Congratulations to our 4x100 boys - a brilliant performance.

    Well done to our 4 x 100 girls - a great performance.

Of course it would. Had he been neck and neck with Mitchell-Blake coming to the line I really don't know who I'd have been supporting, but versus the Americans it was a no-brainer lol.

An amazing night, couldn't manage to post of the forum but I managed on Facebook. A lot of surprises and medals arriving like buses. A fantastic evening

    Re: Athletics Thread

I was thinking more about Bolt before the race started but when GB were in the lead I forgot all about him until after GB won. So did the commentator.
But the news this morning were mentioning Bolt's loss first and then the brilliant GB win afterwards.
