Dina certainly done very well in circumstances, though pity to just miss out on medal again! Exciting steeplechase and surprise with only one Kenyan in top 3, Americans taking top 2 places with great performances. Well done Chris O'Hare in qualifying for 1500 final, bit of controversy as Lynsey Sharp initially disqualified from 800 final after locking arms with American Lipsey (who qualified in any case but was later reinstated (both being fastest losers)

    Re: Athletics Thread

Lynsey Sharp was running with her eyes closed when the incident happened which was rather foolish!

What has happened to Australia - the Championships are nearly over and so far not one single medal? Just hope for them Sally Pearson or one of their relay teams delivers. Also Germany have only one silver.

When we look at their results Team GB have done well. Australia is hosting the Commonwealth Games next year???!!!

I was thinking exactly the same thing. We have had our disappointments with so many fourth places but compared to Australia, Canada and many other European countries, we seem to be punching above our weight. If you look at the placing table rather than the medal table, we are actually fifth behind USA, Kenya, Poland and Jamaica - not bad going, I would say.

Brilliant! A shame Mo could't pull off the double but it really doesn't matter a jot. What a fantastic athlete! I'm looking forward to watching him win marathons in the future.

Pity Mo couldn't clich the double, unfortunate to be boxed in near end and didn't quite have enough-well done Edris though. Still amazing performance from Mo considering tough 10,000- awesome! Really had phenomenal career on track with so many great moments hopefully far more to come on the road! Fabulous silver in the women and terrific gold for the Men in the 100 relays-maginficent! Time for our Men 3rd fastest in history, such a shame Bolt pulled up mind you but GB had it won.
