You could send it to my account. Some people have sent cash and it got here safely.

There is an option on paypal to pay friends so no commission is charged. Don't know if that is any use.

If you can pm me your account details, I will do the transfer today or tomorrow. Once you have got it you can buy the tickets on my behalf if you like? I would like to support your event, but can’t be there. I am having to palm off the dog for two weeks over that period as it is. Shetland and my first trip to Liverpool.

In the middle of painting at the moment.

Just to let you know I will be doing the raffle tickets this weekend, allocating numbers to names. I will let you know your numbers very soon. Thanks everyone. If you ask or have asked for bank details I do need to know the amount so I can sort out your tickets.

It's just past 2 am and we are home after a wonderful evening. We raised over 800 and plus over 500 on my Just Giving page and cheques and cash donations the total is probably over 1500. Big count tomorrow. In the raffle Harriet was successful twice. Well done. Private message tomorrow. Thanks so much for your support. Goodnight all. X

Re: Charity Evening in aid of the PSP Association in memory of Alan Stewart-Jones

Although last night's event was deemed a success and everyone told me they enjoyed themselves I won't be doing another one for reasons I'm just sharing on here and nowhere else. First of all the no-shows even though as recently as last week they were coming. 18 in total just didn't turn up and buffet paid for. Now some people don't seem to grasp the word CHARITY. It was 5 entrance which included a really lovely buffet. Then raffle tickets were 1 a strip. Some people bought one strip. The quiz was 1 per entrant. I was told that some people didn't want to do the quiz. It's fun for goodness sake and it was clearly explained on posters and other publicity platforms there would be a quiz. There were grumbles from a few that it was 1 for the stand-bingo. Only a handful of people joined in with roll a 1 coin at a bottle of whisky which was a lot of funl creating a lot of banter. Some people wouldn't even pay a 1 for choosing a number in a card, rather like a football card and the winner got half the proceeds! The prizes were very good, some worth 50 or more. I'm so grateful to my family and those friends who joined in everything including my son who successfully bid 130 for a signed Saints shirt though we were expecting at least 150. If people attend a charity event surely they expect to donate at least 20. Some tight wads got away with 5 + 1 for raffle tickets and they were fed enjoying a very generous buffet. It was a lot of work, getting lovely raffle prizes, phoning round and visiting shops and the theatre and cinema etc. Organising raffle tickets which I bought with pens, buying bingo tickets, booking the venue which thankfully was free as we were members there and everything else on the night. We did raise a lot of money but it could have been much more if people had turned up and if others there had understood what a charity event is all about. My rant is over. Thank you for reading. Thanks again to those who supported by donations to my Just Giving Page, cash, cheques and the purchase of raffle tickets. The first one was on my birthday last year at home so we have come full circle. As my son said to me "You need to rest now, you've done your bit".

Some people can be so strange - fancy going to a charity evening (if you actually turn up) then acting like a burden rather than support. So sorry it didn't go quite as planned, Mo, but you still did wonderfully and your son's quite right, you've done your bit.
