Royal Portrush almost ready for The Open. Looking well in colour today! Zoom in for all the detail. I don't have smart camera equipment!

I live here, Sally! Royal Portrush only 5 minutes down the road from me, and I happened to be passing last Sunday, so I stopped to take a few pics. Luckily I was travelling in the right direction as there was a 4 mile queue of traffic going the other way! Clearly everyone was out curious to see what was happening! Not up to facing the traffic during The Open so will watch most of it on TV!

Sally, I've just realised you were replying to Big Al! Sorry. Thought it was me at first! Read the question, Pat!

Are you planning to come to the Open? I might go to one of the practice days.

Why is this the one weekend we can't go!!! My son is getting married, so priorities win. If this was the following weekend we could have killed two birds with one stone, a visit to Ireland and The Open. Oh well, another time maybe.

No. I think they are all sold out. Not 100% sure though.

Im used to watching a fair bit of golf on Sky, but first time going to a tournament , so will be interesting. Might be a bit of hassle getting there and back, but could be a once in a lifetime chance.

If you are driving from the Belfast direction, you could use the park and ride facility at Coleraine Rugby Club. It's situated more or less as you arrive in Coleraine (Lodge Road roundabout) and when you are returning home again, you should be able to avoid most of the traffic.
I will now be attending the tournament on Friday.
