Thread: WIMBLEDON 2019 - WOMEN singles and doubles

Quick matches and had hoped for more (at least in first semi) but two players in form. The first two games with Halep and Svitolina featured long rallies and took 20 minutes but Simona pretty much dominated thereafter-Elina done a bit better in the 2nd but was not best day,Halep though has much more experience in the latter stages of slams. Serena was far too strong for Barbora Strycova, talk about hip injury but likely did not make a great deal of difference for the czech.

Both utterly boring matches devoid of any excitement whatsoever. I'd be so ticked off if I'd got centre court tix today in the international ballot and flew all the way over here for that! Sheesh!

I know someone who got tix in the ballot for today! 160 each!! Bit pricey for what they got!

My thoughts also on ticket price to see those matches. Hopefully a more evenly matched final.
Andy Murray - more exciting than a carnival weekend in Rio

But at least they get the women's and men's doubles matches afterwards, don't they? At least the men's I seem to recall.

Today's centre court programme also included 1 Men's Doubles semi (which was a 3 hour match) which I think is always the case. Would like to think Johanna Konta would have provided more of a test had she played better in the quarter when expectations would not be the same, though can't be sure. Men's and Women's Doubles Final are scheduled for Saturday.

Jackie and I were there today. Mens dubs helped to make up for it.

I watched a bit of the women's doubles today involving Strycova and Hseih. Very entertaining and Strycova/Hseih have made their way into the final. Looking forward to that tomorrow. They play Dabrowski and Xu.

Yes I really hope Gabi and partner win altho' I don't think they will. The other team are better imho. But at least she got to the final. Last Canuck standing.
