Great article, thanks HG. The last paragraph, stating that Andy has won slams despite an arthritic hip and could potentially return and be better than ever is very encouraging. Of course no guarantees, but no question there's still very realistic hope for Andy

Extremely postive words from Derek McMinn, pioneer of hip resurfacing. “With Sir Andy Murray, I would expect the chances of him being able to return to competitive tennis as in the high 90 per cent,” McMinn said.

He believes that there's a very good chance that Andy will be able to play Wimbledon, but I'm sure we all agree that we'll wait as long as it takes, just so long as we get our Andy back

Tim Henman: "Andy Murray is doing great mentally following hip surgery."

This is a very frustrating article. The first sentence covers Tim Henman saying Andy's doing really well post-surgery, but that's it, the rest of it just covers what we already knew. It would be nice if there was elaboration on when Tim saw Andy and the postive signs that Tim saw, but I suppose any upbeat "news" is welcome, however brief.

I thought the same RB. Just a bit of lazy journalism rehashing the story of Andy's hip. Would love to know where they got the info from Tim. Wouldn't be surprised if he has been in touch with Andy as they seem quite good friends but the info barely merits writing an article. If it is true though glad to hear Andy is feeling positive

Tennisworld - Andy Murray could be back competing in a year, says surgeon

Flavia Pennetta believes that Murray should have not held a pre-Australian Open conference call to announce his possible retirement from tennis. There was an enormous buzz by players and media on the British player, who was in tears speaking to reporters.

Apparently Judy has posted a pic of Andy with his eldest daughter. First publicly released photo. Not sure where, and not interested enough to try and find it, but others may want to:

The press makes me so angry. The photo in question was on Twitter yesterday. It was a beautiful picture of Andy and Judy had captioned it ...' is Andy morphing into Johny Mac...' (or something like that.) The only hint, and it was the tiniest of hints, that one of his daughters may have been beside him was a few strands of blond curly hair. Could have been anybody's hair and maybe it wasn't even hair. For that magazine to claim that Andy is pictured with his daughter is preposterous! How they deduce there is a "sweet similarity" baffles me because there was nothing to compare! It makes me so cross that Judy can't jokingly publish a picture without press jumping on it and making it something it isn't. If I am cross, can't imagine how Judy and Andy must be feeling. Sorry. Rant over.
