Tight finish, but Marianne Vos of the Netherlands takes gold, with Britain's Lizzie Armitstead in silver medal position. Bronze to Olga Zabelinskaya of Russia.

I thought Lizzie had that one, but Vos just about held her off.

Too bad for the British girl - sooooooooooooooo close. But well done for silver. Canada came 32nd.

It was an incredible finish, especially with the torrential rain towards the end. There were a couple of pretty tight bends in the last kilometre and, with the greasy road surface, my heart was in my mouth in case one of them went over!

CYCLING (14:15 - 16:05): Bradley Wiggins, men's individual time trial

Tour de France winner Wiggins will attempt to complete a glorious summer by adding Olympic gold in the time trial to the three he previously won in the velodrome. A medal of any sort will take him past Sir Steve Redgrave as the British Olympian with the most medals, a total of seven. Team-mate Chris Froome, the Tour de France runner-up, could be among his rivals for a medal.
Beijing silver medallist Emma Pooley has the pedigree in the women's race but believes the flat course at Hampton Court harms her chances, while Lizzie Armitstead has the boost of silver in the road race as she looks to go one better.
