Yeah, I remember that - bit like the incident a few weeks ago with Jess where they put the wrong number of hurdles on the track!

My friends daughter has just qualified for the US team in the Hammer throw. I'm so excited for her, she was an outsider that came through in the end and she was happy when she got to the qualifiers. Sorry fellow Brits but I will have to cheer for her.

The GB team will miss out on the 4x100m relay at London 2012 after their team were disqualified from the European Championships in Helsinki yesterday. On the third leg of the semi-final, Hayley Jones unfortunately ran out of her lane, so the team failed to qualify. This drops them to 17th place in the world rankings, so as the Olympic event is top-16 only, they will be unable to compete.

I feel so sorry for Hayley - she must be absolutely devastated to have been unwittingly the cause of the whole relay team missing the Olympics.

Absolutely - relay teams usually seem very close-knit, so I'm sure everyone else will be supporting her rather than blaming her - but she'll probably feel awful about it anyway

That's got to be gutting for Paula. She's never managed to be fully fit for the Olympics. I wouldn't be surprised if she announced her retirement after the Olympics are over.
