No idea, something about him not liking the way Rosol is preparing to serve. I think he's just irritated.
Up to his usual tricks then I see. 629

Never seen Rafa so worked up - Rosol has got right inside his head!
if andy behaved like rafa is doing he would be ripped to shreds by media and every stupid commy...i wonder if janet street potty mouth would comment on rafas on court behaviour...andy is really a saint at times! rafa is always extremely grumpy espesh when losing!!! but come on rafa i dont wana see him go out even though it would massively improve andys chances!

They're going to finish this match today one way or another. Apparently if Nadal wins this set they'll close the roof.

Rafa took advantage of a few errors and now up 5-2 in the 4th, he could wel lbe in the ascendancy now even if he was rattled for a while.
Rosol gone off the boil a bit and Nadal takes the 4th. Get the feeling it's one way traffic now.

They are closing the roof for the match to be completed but there'll be a 30 minute delay, think Rafa's the strong favourite now though. It's 1 set each with Raonic and Querrey.

Go out have a go, most importantly enjoy yourself. All the pressure is on Nadal.
Typical. Just as Rafa has the momentum for the first time in the match, they have to stop for half an hour.
Rafa really doesn't like this guy. But I know why - someone I know who is courtside has been tweeting right from the start of the match about Rosol's antics whilst Rafa is trying to serve (of course on the TV they show the server so we haven't seen much of that).

Easy enough hold for Rosol. Impressive stuff from him. Wonder if he can keep this up for the rest of the set.

I'm not just surprised, it's like a miracle. This is totally different for me. Rafa is a superstar and I am sorry for him today. I hope I can play one more match like this. I am happy for my support, my family. I don't know what to say. It's tough to say something. Before the match I just wanted to play my best 'cos I knew Nadal plays good. Awesome from Rasol in the crunch moments, he really was on fire under ther roof, well done! A huge upset with Nadal going out at this stage but of course he's had so masny special moments. I'm not looking too far ahead but the draw has opened up.
Rafa can be vulnerable to big hitters in early rounds at Wimbledon.
His match with Haase a couple of years ago was a 5-setter too. The difference as everyone has mentioned was that Haase couldn't sustain his level/ keep his nerve, unlike Rosol.
That has to be a good result for Andy. The media need to rein themselves in about this - though I doubt if they will be able to help themselves.
And Andy needs to ignore them.
Have to keep telling myself it's good for Andy!!!!! :lol:Let's hope so! - but I really don't want Andy anywhere near him though
Total disbelief. HOW did he do that?
Yeah, it opens up the draw, but its going to take a massive effort from Andy to get to the semi's anyway.
The greatest upset ever?
Matt Cronin Tweet: Rosol: 65 winners, 29 unforced, 22 aces, won 76 of 92 first serve points. Nadal not bad at 41 winners, 16 unforced, but out hit

Absolutely, still 3 matches to go before Andy gets to the SFs and his part of the draw is still tricky. Totally believe that Andy will stay level headed and just focus on the next match.

28-06-2012, 21:17
In a strange way Andy's tough draw might help calm the excitement - well it will amongst those who know something about tennis - still a long, long way to go and surely today has shown how tough it can be - a different line call and one less DF from Dr. Ivo today and Andy at the least might have also been in a five setter today.
Total disbelief. HOW did he do that?
Yeah, it opens up the draw, but its going to take a massive effort from Andy to get to the semi's anyway.

Indeed important he stays grounded. Baggy is a good player, won't be easy. Also Raonic in the next round? That's like playing a better version of Karlo. Then Tsonga in the quarter finals who last year recovered from 2 sets down to beat Fed. Long way to go for Andy but he just has to keep it in the day! Which I'm sure he will, he's a world class professional.
Federer now guaranteed to move to at least #2 in the rankings.

Yes, he seemed very shocked and perhaps not quite fully aware of the enormity of that win.
He didn't make mileage of the interviewers questions about Rafa either.
What came across was that, at the age of 26, he'd finally got a chance to play out on Centre Court at Wimbledon and just went for it regardless of who his opponent was. This is borne out by the BBC report of the match here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/18627648).
Tell you one person who is probably not looking forward to R3 - and that is the Cabbagewriter!!!

Tbh I think Rasol will struggle to play at this level consistently. At this year's Australian open he was humbled 6-0, 6-0, 6-2 by Petzschner. There have been a few giant killers throughout the years who didn't become top players.
Well, if Andy doesn't win Wimbledon now I will throttle him.

Tbh I think Rasol will struggle to play at this level this level consistently. At this year's Australian open he was humbled 6-0, 6-0, 6-2 by Petzschner. There have been a few giant killers throughout the years who didn't become top players.
part of me wants him to be thrashed just to regain some sense of order lol..but would be an interesting tourny if he carries on

His next match will certainly be interesting. I do hope Andy can go on to make the final now.

On the subject of 'big boy tennis'.
Did anyone see Kenny De Schepper playing Ferrer earlier today?
Omg that man's a beast. He probably turns green when he is mad.
My guess is that Rosol will not do so well in his next match, as the excitement of the win will take its toll.
After that incredible win and the attention it brings to Wimbledon, Rosol deserves to be scheduled on centre court again for his next match but no doubt the blazered old buffers will shove him out on the common.
Still pretty much in shock from the Rafa loss or more accurately Rosol's win! Rosol was awesome and played some great nerveless tennis! Was amazed at how fearless he was especially in the last 2 service games!
Yeah Rosol may struggle in the next match after such a big high today!

I too am still in disbelief at what I watched last night and I have to say that Rosol was amazing. I had my doubts as to whether he could serve it out but my goodness, he did it with nerves of steel.
Rafa looked bitterly disappointed and I know that some of you on here will be too :flowers:
As for Andy, well one match at a time but should he make it to the semis then I have to say that I'm glad he won't be facing Rafa.

Crazy times last night. Kept thinking Rafa would fight back but Rosol held his nerve, credit to him. Not likely he will go much further in my opinion after this high, is going to be difficult.
Another shock I can recall is Pete Sampras round 2 out on court 2 (?!!) losing to Bastl. Believe this was also 5 sets. V sad day for me.
Tsonga's section of the draw is now looking very promising for him while Andy still has major obstacles in his. Not that you would believe that from the hype that has started this morning!
Just realised the Sky Wimbledon Reports on at 9.30 and 10.30 are different ones. The first one has Petchey and the second one has Barry Cowan and others. I have missed most the the Barry Cowan one but the Petchey one was very good.

Well, if Andy doesn't win Wimbledon now I will throttle him.
Just glad for you that you managed to watch Rafa play on Tuesday! And commiserations to all the other Rafa fans on here ... never good to see one of your favourite players exit earlier than expected in a Slam.

I remember that defeat well and Pete sitting slumped in his chair with his towel over his head at the end of the match on the old Court 2. It opened the door to the media writing screeds of how that was the end of Pete. That was a very sad day for me as well but Pete recovered and defeated Andre to win his last grand slam title later in the year in New York and led to his retirement the following year.
Interesting the similarity between Bastl and Rosol

I should imagine now that both Andy and Jo-Wilfried are feeling pretty happy that the draw has opened up. Jo came very close to defeating Nole in Paris.
Wish we could see replays of Andy's match against Karlovic - I was too nervous to watch it and watche James' brave fight against Mardy Fish.

Big Sam is playing just that little bit better right now.
Henman just said after the last return FHDTL "he's taking the Rosol route".
RL - quick question. How is Raonic pronounced?
Simon (commie) is saying ROW-NITCH (row as in argument not paddling a boat).
Henman is saying RYE-OWN-ITCH
In my mind I read it as RAY-ON-ICK
And does anyone know the correct pronunciation of Querrey?
The umpire is saying QWEH-REE (as do I)
Henman is saying QUEE-REE
I think Henman is making up his own pronunciations :rolling:
RoastLamb

App. it's ROW-NITCH. but I've always pronounced it RAY-ON-ITCH.

GSM Querrey. Beats Raonic 6'7, 7'6, 7'6, 6'4 with an Ace on match point.
Shame for the young Canadian but it's good to see big Sam back. He had to take so much time out with injuries after working his way up the rankings and then he had that fall on a glass coffee table did so much damage to his arm last year.
Battle of the giants next up for him as he plays 6'6" Cilic in R4.

Solid win for Nole in the end in the 4 sets after dropping the first.
Unfortunately, since Berdych and Isner have gone, I can't see anyone troubling Djoko or Fed on that side of the draw - their route to the semis is pretty obstacle free. Unlike Andy's side of the draw.

Benneteau gets broken by Fed early in the 2nd set only to fight and break back immediately after. Quite a match this. Can Benneteau keep this up?

Not going to plan for Fed and most surprised that he didn't consolidate the break there,if Benny digs deep could put Fed under more pressure. A good win for Malisse, beating Nando in 5. Murray won't face Milos anyway as he went out to Querrey. Whilst I'm glad Kim is through seems Vera wasn't well.
C'mon Benny - you can do this!
Gasquet took the first set off Almagro too!

Weather forecast from the Beeb for Wimbers: Rain for a time during the morning, heavy in places. Becoming generally drier by midday with some sunny spells, though there may also be a few showers.

Don't you remember that awful fall he had? They thought he'd hurt his ankle at first but he ended up with a busted elbow. Here's a link (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?901-MONTE-CARLO-2012-R3-Andy-into-the-Quarters-6-5-ret-d.-Benny-ankle-wrist-injuries.&p=58874&viewfull=1#post58874)to the post where I took that quote from + another below. It's all on this thread MONTE CARLO 2012, R3: Andy into the Quarters, 6'5 ret'd. Benny ankle/wrist injuries.
Benneteau has a broken arm and ligament damage in his ankle as well as a wrist sprain.
He's likely to miss the rest of the clay season and maybe even Wimbledon.
Incredible that he was even thinking of continuing to play this morning.
Yep, there's a picture and video here. (http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=11916106&postcount=829) He was in tears the moment he fell.
Initially it looked as though it was his wrist (which he landed on to take the fall) but he had to be helped to his chair 'cos his ankle hurt so much and they attended to that first. It was only after he'd returned to the court and played out the last 2 points of the 11th game that he asked for the doctor to look at his wrist/arm. Even then it didn't seem as though the elbow might be broken.

And he did. Think it was the euphoria of that 2nd set win which caused him to lose concentration at the start of the 3rd and let Federer take command. After losing the first couple of service games he probably thought he might as well save something for the 4th.
Benny just needs to stay calm, hold his own serve and take some chances against Roger.
I went to get myself some dinner at the start of the third and missed the whole set! Was Benny taking a rest?
