Well he got a set more than I expected, to be honest.

I think he is in a bit of a transition stage at the moment, the work with Lendl still a work in progress. They are obviously working on the forehand, which everybody has said for years needed to improve, and it has improved, but is still inconsistent.

At least he has a few days to recover from his niggles - he seemed to pick up a new, abdominal one at the end of the match - and get some practice on the grass.

Very disappointed really. He made way too many mistakes, reminded me of his USO lost to Nadal last year. If he had played at his normal level I think he would have won. I was surprised that Ferrer wasn't playing better than his was - Andy didn't need to go for so much. I don't think Andy needs to go for so much against anyone, he needs to find his game and play it. Oh well, at least Wimbledon is almost here!
