I dunno if anyone is ever interested as I never really get any comments when I post my blogs of Andy/Jamie matches anymore... maybe because I prefer to put it in a blog site rather than in full in here (but after the last forum went along with some people's memories - safer all round!).
Anyway... I got to see the Torch Relay on the Tuesday and then had an amazing chance to go to the Opening Ceremony - truly a once in a lifetime experience! I will NEVER experience an event quite like that again.

Here's a link to 5-Ring Circus 2012 (http://5ringcircus2012.blogspot.co.uk/)

I will be going to the tennis for one day on Wednesday for the third round but I would imagine the organisers will put Andy on Centre. I'll put the tennis on here and on The Chalkdust Chronicles (http://chalkdustchronicles.blogspot.co.uk/) as well.

For the handful of people who have been v supportive of my journalistic endeavours - I have also been putting in some blogs for the Huffington Post UK (http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/ros-satar/) and will continue to do so for the duration (if they'll take them), and thanks for your support over a very tough month. Not over yet and still have to pass shorthand to be fully certified, which is depressing to say the least. Client for IT writing job is also screwing me over now, reducing my work so... may have to go back to a real job soon :crying:

Oh wow - I hope you love it - I used to go to football with my dad when I was little... just go Ooooooohhhh, Ahhhhhhh a lot, and shout "REFEREEEEEEEE" in an exasperated tone. You'll fit right in!

I've always enjoyed football, just never seen a match live before. I'll see team GB's last group match so I'm sure I'll be screaming at them :)

Thanks for your blog Ros - as I was watching the opening ceremony on TV, I was wondering what it was like for you there - on TV the cameras kept zooming in on details, and a commentator was explaining it all, and I wondered if those there would miss some of those things - though of course you had more idea of the overall spectacle from actually being there.

Great blog Roz. It was great getting an insider perspective and I love the pics. Like Linda, I wondered if you had someone explaining it all or did you just understand all of what was going on and how did you know where to look next and not miss anything. :OGwave: :thanks::clap:

Hi thanks.
There wasn't much in the way of narration so you had to pick up what was happening - so in the Industrial Revolution bit, there was such a lot going on we were all "oooh, look at that, ahhhh glowing rings"

It was maybe more of an issue on very dark bits like some of the NHS piece and the doves on bikes.

I started watching the pre-amble back - we had warm up acts while was on the TV which was a shame, as a lot of that was very moving.

I want to see what you guys saw, though...

Thanks Roz, really enjoyed your blog and pics. I watched the ceremony, but it's nice to see some "still" photos - there was so much going on, it was hard to take it all in!
A 13-yr-old from our church was one of the youngsters playing (French horn) with the orchestra at the beginning (Nimrod) and through the "Industrial" bit. We didn't spot him, but his mum saw the top of his head!! He had a great time and told us a bit about it this morning.

Fabulous blog Rozzie - great pics too - so envious - the goosebumps were there reading through it all - especially your comments on Emeli Sande and the national anthem as the flag was being raised. I loved Emeli Sande's Abide with Me - it was fabulous - she's a very talented girl!

Like most I've only heard her pop hits, her rendition was ... well the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up on end, and it was an incredibly moving and well sung piece.

I have had a few pieces put up in the Huffington Post (I know those of you who follow me on Twitter and/or FB are probably sick to death of my linkages by now... but... )

And today I submitted this in the morning, and it went up almost immediately

Bit overdue as I have a LOT of work to catch up on (missed loads during exams etc and now only getting paid half of my outgoings for certainly next couple of months... not easy this stupidity of changing career lark).

Anyhoo...
