He's always been #1 to his fans, especially on this forum, but he's needing just another
few thousand ranking points to convince the ATP computer and the rest of the world.

Yes less than a Masters, they really should reconsider the rankings points in future games though too late for Andy now. However I'm sure the feeling of being Olympic champion will be very special and will give Andy a boost!

The Olympics is all well and good, but home crowd and favourable surface would be the claims of the naysayers. Well now he is the undoubted best player in the world, and world No1 by the end of the year is now a probablity.
