Well, at least they painted it in the right town, unlike the one they did for Laura Trott (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19137832), one of our Team Sprint gold-medallists! For her they painted one in Harlow where she was born, rather than Cheshunt where she grew up :)

She tweeted the Post Office to tell them of the mistake, and they did the decent thing and tweeted her straight back to say they would do one in Cheshunt as well, but warned it may take a day or two as they were running out of the requisite paint after a rush of gold medallists over the weekend :big grin:

More paint is on order though, so don't stop those gold medals coming...!

Sorry LC but please could you clarify that? Wouldn't "Tuesday week" be tomorrow? The Final was on Sunday 5th August so if you ordered them that evening are you saying they arrived on Tuesday 7th August? If so you were one of the lucky ones I think 'cos it seems most people haven't received theirs. I ordered mine last Tuesday 7th and so far haven't got anything.

We've been collecting first day covers for years and to be fair there were only about 10 gold medals when I committed to having the whole lot .... I could've said stop at any time, but they're a set so we'll just have to bite the bullet and spend the pennies!

I looked at the address they were sent from & found it was sent from the royal mail headquarters in south gyle in Edinburgh---around 2 miles from where I live. Twelve days is quite along time to come from there!!!!
