Yeeeeah, I think that race going on in Toronto is gradually becoming a lost cause so let's shuffle it under the carpet and move on shall we? Putting Toronto straight after the Olympics, who came up with that daft idea anyway? Cincinnati should be drier and hopefully those still having parties at the Olympics will finally turn up.
Rules and leaderboard posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?538-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2012). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after Cincinnati. The current race rankings are as follows:
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/5955/raceprecin.png
The current bubble gap is 2290. That's Andy's score (4640) – Tipsarevic's score (2350) = 2290.
Toronto is currently running and players in red are still playing there. Gray players have withdrawn from Cincy.
The BG will remain the same regardless of who wins the final in Toronto.
The highest possible bubble gap is 3280. That's Andy winning Cincinnati with Tipsarevic going out in his 1st match.
The smallest (mathematical) bubble gap is 1750. That's Andy losing his first match with Almagro winning and Tipsarevic the finalist.
So in summary, your guess is between 1750 and 3280. The better you think Andy will do the higher your guess.
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.
Ranking points on offer for Cincinnati are:
R1: 10
R2: 45
R3: 90
QF: 180
SF: 360
F: 600
W: 1000
Good luck to all who take part and may the best driver win! :trophy:
Deadline: Sunday 12th August, 9pm UK time

Manaus - the ATP Bracket for Cincy has a deadline of 13.00 local, 17.00 GMT so 18.00 UK.
They must have been advised that the TD will schedule the first main draw matches around that time.
So, I've edited your thread title - hope that is OK?

Hmm, we have to enter this before we know who has won the Canada Masters.
Tricky. Going to think about it.

Tricky. Going to think about it.
If you don't think Gasquet will beat Djoko then the result at Toronto won't matter for your Cincy entry. If you think Gasquet will win then yes that makes things tricky as then he'll be at 2330, 20 points behind Tipsy who's 9th in the race.
I'll take 2470. Less than 6 hours to go.
Dont forget me, 2795 please.

:thanks: for everyone's entries.
With the Olympics done and dusted it's back to business as 16 drivers arrive in Cincinnati in preparation for the final big race fast approaching.
DaveArneRiise hopes for a return to form as he sets the fastest pace during qualifying to start up front, joined by hfwardhouse.
JAMES4578 and rondun start in the 2nd row, both having the same times so the good old coin gets some use.
Manaus and VamosVixs are in the 3rd row, Oscar and Genbrit fill 7th and 8th with the back of the top 10 containing Ace! and Elenive.
Interestingly enough, the podium finishers from Toronto nearly ended up taking the bottom 3 places here (they can thank -J- for raining on that parade). Tired out after the last race?
After the shenanigans in Toronto, hopefully we're in for a more serious race. Start your engines!
It's happened again. Whenever I base my entry on Andy winning the tournament, he loses :crying: If I do it again, tell me I have to change my entry.

I have no idea as to whether or not this means I win?
Seriously, are the rainclouds following the drivers now? I'm also hearing that Toronto is bright and sunny at the moment. :grrr:
Anyway, there's a split in how the drivers are approaching the race - there's the top half who are fighting their hardest to get the highest placing possible and the bottom half who aren't too bothered. I think the latter have seen the clouds and feel that the race may be called off. :rain:
As it stands DaveArneRiise is keeping himself ahead but is facing very stiff competition from JAMES4578 who's staying right on his tail. Manaus also manages to slip his way past hfwardhouse and rondun, moving up to 3rd.
It's getting rather gloomy and dark out there.

It's not definite but you're likely to. Cilic and Raonic potentially are the ones getting in your way. If either of them manage to win Cincy then you'll drop down a bit (not impossible given the upsets we've had!). I haven't done the exact maths but I think you're guaranteed a top 5 place.

 Sorry, made a mistake, you and James have the same score and in this situation under the BG rules the person who entered first wins. James entered before you so he should be 1st and you 2nd. I kept thinking that you entered 1st and just realised that I'm confusing myself with the Toronto BG (where you were the 1st to post your entry).

No worries Manaus, rules are rules ;)
Still pretty gloomy but the race goes on! There's nothing much going on in general but DaveArneRiise and JAMES4578 up front have been battling it out for pole for quite a while. They're pretty much neck and neck until the very end and the stewards are having to review video footage to try and work out who passed the finish line first. Squinting heavily the stewards just make out that JAMES4578 was ahead by a mere centimeter giving him his 2nd pole finish of the year.

Well done to JAMES4578, DaveArneRiise and all the other point scorers. Not much action in this race but hopefully a lot more in the next as it's the final big race of the year. :) See you at Flushing Meadows.
Good job James, Dave and Manaus!
