Is anyone else going to the parade in Dunblane tomorrow! Supposed to start at around 12, though I can't get there any earlier than 10.20. Will be great to be there, even if I don't get the best view and wanted to go seeing Andy wasn't in Glasgow. The olympic parade in Glasgow yesterday was fabulous nonetheless. Sure there will be coverage on Tv as many won't be able to make it.

How exciting for everyone in Dunblane and those who can get there. Wish I could be there. So, so happy that Andy is getting to take part in a welcome home celebration. So deserved after his years and years of hard work. I have been trying to keep up with all the posts on here but have been extremely busy at work and still am so haven't been able to contribute a lot but am VERY VERY happy.

Yes, I have also had many many people coming to me this week and congratulating me on Andy's win. LOTS of them know I have supported Andy for a long long time and I think they thought I was insane believing he would ever win a slam. Made me feel although I had won with him. On the down side, I have been so busy at work I was unable to get into the long lengthy discussions I would have liked to with them about the match. Oh well, small price to pay.

There is some coverage on Sky News apparently (but they are currently covering the death of an Irish rugby player) but I'm not sure what 'cos I'm just picking up snippets from Twitter.

If it is on Sky News and you don't subscribe to that it's possible to find it on TVCatchup which is an online 'live video' service and in theory you need to have a current TV licence. You need to register but it costs nothing - check the TV Guide for stations on air and click to go but if you hate the promo ads that run for about 45 secs you'll need to mute the volume.

Bit of a problem for Sky - the police have moved the camera and reporter along and the announcer has said the police don't want them filming. Seems a bit odd?

Also, the reporter said that Andy was going on holiday before heading to the Far East to resume the tennis season. Not sure if they have official word about a 'holiday' or whether it might just be a weekend away? Andy still needs a week ahead of Tokyo to get up to speed with his training.

They reckoned there were about 15,000 in Dunblane to cheer him on.

He looked relaxed and happy to sign autographs, have piccies taken and shake hands.

I've been like it on and off since he beat Tsonga in the Wimbledon semi-final. I was at the Wimbledon final and managed to see him get his Gold Medal at the Olympics.

It's a pity there's not a "Mandy moonball muppet" store in Dunblane - it could have a great "closing down" sale!

Had Sky Sports News on in the background all afternoon - pretty tedious sitting through all the repetitions of sports news - but they've had some good coverage of Andy too, in dribs & drabs.

I loved the little interview with him when he talked about the dream he had about winning Wimbledon, then waking up on the sofa one afternoon, and wondering if he'd dreamt winning the US Open too :big grin: Lovely long interview with Judy too...

I missed that bit, and I have had sky news on since noon, and been waiting for the bit with Andty in, I saw the interview with Andy when he was sitting down, but then I went in to the kitchen to start my Sunday dinner!

thanks for all the photos etc - I was out for a large part of the day, so missed seeing anything on the tv.
So glad that so many turned out for Andy!
So pleased for (and jealous of !) any on here who managed to be there!

I was so frustrated being so close and not being able to be there - kept up with proceedings on twitter mainly - loads of fabulous pics - including our own *kp* who "stalked" Andy and managed to get autographs and then ended up with a photo with him! She even managed to get her face on STV News

Still waiting to see Lankster's pics - so glad so many were there and able to see Andy - and that the rain went off for the walkabout - would've been such a shame if it'd rained the whole time - he probably wouldn't have spent quite so much time signing autographs with everything getting soggy!

Managed to record the news bulletins on BBC and STV but nothing on Sky which was probably the best coverage .... just typical I would be away from home today ... :grrr: ... oh well!

My cousin lives in Dunblane and the whole family were there waiting to see Andy - she cracked me up though about the post box just now .... she joked that Minnie and I were visitors number 2,000,001 and 2,000,002 but she said that there has been a steady stream of folk visiting the postbox which you would realise but she did have to wait in a queue to post a letter last week :rolling:

I think you maybe right - I certainly caught a quick glance of him on the TV news so he was there.

Must say I thought the Mayor had rather a lot to say..... Andy's speech was minute by comparison. Ah well, everybody gets their time in the spotlight
