Now, do I get on with all the things I have to do, or do I watch the St Petersburg final followed by the Metz final followed by the repeat of Downton?

I've got errands to do so will miss the doubles but then, as it is raining and will be all day, I'm sorting my office with the tennis on 'in the background' and anything else I can think of to detract from the mind-numbing brought on by sorting receipts.

Disappointing finals in the end - both very one sided.

They were ..... but it's good to see a new face winning a tour title.

Martin Klizan beat Fabio Fognini 6'2, 6'3 in St Petersburg.
Strange to think we were watching him 9 months ago being beaten by Dan Evans at D/Cup!!!
(and if it had been a best of 3 sets Dan would have won in 2 - 6-1 6-1 4-6 3-6 6-3)
Poor Foggy, he's been on the tour so much longer and has yet to win his maiden title.

As for Tsonga ... he must have been the only player to WANT to win that hideous Metz trophy!
That and he's French and on home soil so he managed to trash Seppi 6'1, 6'2.
;)

I was very sad for Fabio - he's been playing much better recently and I thought deserved to win his first title - but he had one of his off days. And Klizan, obviously, was 'on' for the whole tournament.

Talking of Fabio, there was a large contingent of VBers in Cinci and as Rafa wasn't there they decided to watch Fabio's practices instead (he was out of the tournament but stayed there to practice). They of course are used to watching Rafa's very intense practice sessions and couldn't believe Fabio's - he put virtually no effort in, never ran for the ball but just let it bounce twice before he hit it. In fact it seemed that the only reason for his practices was for his fans to take pics of him posing shirtless. Hilarious!

:rolling: Yes, Fabio does seem to fancy himself a little too much. Bit like a couple of Spanish boys I could mention.
