Andy will play Florian Mayer who served up a second set bagel to Bernard Tomic in R1.

They have played once before (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=MB02), last year at the Rome Masters on clay in the quarters - a Murraycoaster of a win for Andy after losing the first set 1-6 and taking the next two with the same scoreline.

The match will take place sometime on Wednesday - time to be confirmed.

Excellent - I'm working from home tomorrow, so if I start a bit early and finish a bit late, and if Andy doesn't take too long, I can hopefully watch this one :)

Didn't manage to watch any of the Tokyo matches

There should be enough slicing in this match-up to cut the court to ribbons.

So disappointing!!
Disappointing that we won't see him play today but it gives Andy another day to conserve his energy ready for 4 days play because he'll have R3 on Thurs, Qtrs on Fri, Semi's on Sat and the Final on *Sunday!!!

In R3 he plays either Dolgopolov (H2H 3-0 in Andy's favour) or Gilles Simon and in their match-ups Andy leads 9-1 (Gillou won their very first match on clay in 2007).

I think Sod's Law has struck ... no Andy for you to watch today.

Drat, I was looking forward to this match. I like watching Funky Flo, but there would have been little fear of him beating Andy unless Andy had had a horrific day at the office.

More rest is good. No match practice, not so good, but at least he has a good record against either of his next possible opponents.

Had Bet365 at the ready and just came back to find the match had disappeared - now I know why! Ah well, have to wait another day. Hope this doesn't affect Andy getting used to the courts ahead of rather more challenging opposition.

Recovering from shingles and all set to follow the match in bed on FlashScores and here - ah well, more sleep called for! Hope this won't affect Andy's momentum. Djokovic seems to be in excellent form right now.

So here I was, coffee pot at the ready, choccies on the table, husband playing golf......all ready to watch Andy. Oh Joy.

Had on the tele for the tennis but couldn't understand why Andy was not on yet - drat and thrice drat. Not sure I can make it tomorrow but will now start to re-arrange my day.

Just hope 5 days in not too much rest - he needs a nice straightforward match but at least Dolgopolov will keep him thinking and on his toes

Just came on for a sneaky look from work and glad I did otherwise I would have been fast forwarding 8 hours of sky+ looking for Andy and wondering what the heck had happened to him! Oh well, at least it was the other guy who withdrew with the injury eh?!

Sorry to all those who were at home looking forward to it though.

Ah well, more rest for Andy - just hope he's not match-rusty!

I saw Andy talking to the media early this morning and he looks in fine "fettle" to me and very confident of performing well.
