That's weird. Freddie Nielsen tells everyone he doesn't want to commit to doubles because he wants to make the most of his singles career ... and here he is on the Entry List for Auckland with Brunstrom instead of with his Grand Slam winning partner Jonny Marray.
Those doubles guys sure do mix things up!

Its 50C in Sydney
Which is weird because in Melbourne at the Kooyong Classic they're saying this!
AAMI Kooyong Classic @AAMIClassic (https://twitter.com/AAMIClassic) The sun has come out at Kooyong. It isn't raining anymore.
But we do suggest that you dress warmly today. #AAMIClassic (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23AAMIClassic&src=hash)
There is an article on the extreme temperatures here (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/australasia/purple-alert-australian-heatwave-forces-climate-experts-to-use-new-colour-to-represent-extreme-temperatures-8443297.html)
Apparently its much cooler in Melbourne and its forecast to cool down a bit in Sydney today. Getting different reports of highest temp in Sydney, but it was at least well into the 40s. Highest temp of over 50C may have been elsewhere.

SYDNEY: Bernard Tomic takes first ATP tour title on home ground in Australia.
He beat Kevin Anderson 6'3, 6'7, 6'3.
That's going to silence a few of his detractors of a while ...
Barry Flatman @Barry_FlatmanST (https://twitter.com/Barry_FlatmanST) What will Tennis Australia say about Bernie Tomic now? He's just won the Sydney title. Hard to write him off as an upstart after that
Wonderful for Colin.
*Groan* about Tomic.......can't warm to him I'm afraid.

I don't like him either coz I think he's too arrogant BUT I do like his style of play.
Really pleased that Ferru won Auckland! :)
I like Tomic and am pleased that he's won his first singles title. He's had so much criticism from the Aussie press and past players over the last year - good to see that it's helped to motivate him to work harder. Hopefully he can continue to play well outside Australia this year - it seems like he's ready now to put together a good run of form.

I can give him a bit of slack for being young and a bit over the top. What I do not know is whether he treats the top tennis pros with respect. Remember how Andy used to thank the top twenty players for the honour of playing them when he was starting on the tour. Rowdy in this own life.... his own business .... but there has to be respect for peers for me to truly warm to a player. Because then there is respect for tennis itself.
