Hey guys
Just thought I would open up a thread for you all to share your favourite murray moments of 2012, whether it be live, on tv or even live scoring and your reactions.

My 2 favourite moments were
-watching Andy vs Novak live semis finals of Olympics. AMAZING atmosphere! Andy played brilliantly and the stands were shaking with the support. Never have I heard such a loud crowd which I was so proud to be a part of. At the end of the match the cheer was ear splitting as others like me took in the fact that Andy had won a medal and I had tears in my eyes! And then outisde the media centre the chants of support of Andy continued.

-then of course our late night adventure following Andy to his first GS title! What a murraycoaster. Scary at times to watch but knowing in the 4th set that Andy was playing well made me optimistic that he'd win the title! And I was proved right. Andy battled his way to victory leaving us all in floods of tears and so proud of our man! Tried very hard not to scream loudly and wake everyone in my house up! Was great satisfaction I took in people doubting Andy before saing well done about him winning USO!

For me winning the gold then silver came first, then USO. Also getting to the Wimbly final. But losing it was one of my worst moments that lasted for weeks.

I guess for me Andy winning the Olympic gold was the best thing. Of course I wasn't actually there, only saw it on TV. I've just looked back through my blogs to relive the memories of matches I've actually been at this year - and it seems that I never got round to doing a blog of the Wimbly semis :shamed:

Wouldn't mind a belated blog of your semis Linda ;)

I'm afraid that with my memory it would now be very short :shamed:

Reading back through my blogs today has been really nice, bringing back great memories, so thanks, Xe, for making these threads as it prompted me to look back. I'd forget it all if I didn't write it down ASAP! It's such a shame that the old blogs were lost. :crying: Just the other day I was trying to remember something from one of my days at Wimbly in 2009 - I wrote 3 separate blogs for the 3 separate days - if only I'd saved them somewhere else

The Olympic win was fantastic - to see Andy come back from the disappointment of losing the Wimby final and play so well in the Olympics said a lot about his character. How he played in the final was fantastic - I honestly don't think Federer would have won even if he hadn't had the 4 hour match in the semi-finals. The Olympic win was so important for boosting Andy's confidence and belief - the experience of beating a top 4 player in a best-of-5 format must have helped him deal with the pressure moments in the USO final. The USO final was immense - I felt so much emotion watching that match and him winning a slam was truly fantastic! It felt so satisfying to see Andy achieve his dream and for all his hard work to be rewarded.

Although he had to pull out of Toronto, I really liked how he was followed out onto court with the British flag and then was given a cake celebrating his gold medal after his match - very nice touches. :)

Oh yes! That was a lovely moment when the TO people gave him a GM cake. Forgot about that.

Me neither Linda! Mind you I never get round to blogs, never seem to have time.

Being there to witness Andy getting to his first Wimbledon final was definately my best 'live' moment of the year. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it and they were rolling down my face at the time!!

Thanks Linda for taking me with you xx

All the above but for me, I think the first best moment started when Lendl joined Andy and he came out a different player from the previous 2 years after his 5 set defeat at the Oz Open. I truly felt it was going to be a fresh start.........not without its Murraycoasters mind you.

Mine was, strangely, off court. Seeing the impromptu standing ovation Andy received at 'Mock the Week' after his wimby Loss
He was obviously surprised, overcome and so humble to receive that backing. I think his Olympic gold started there

There has been a few this year with obvious choices such as Gold medal win and USO win.

Match v Llodra at AO, very entertaining match and fun interview afterwards.
Loved the race against time in the Baggy match at Wimbledon.
Proudly watching Andy carry the Olympic torch.
All of Andy's Olympic matches, the crowd were fantastic and he thrived on that.
The hug with Henry after winning Gold, that was an awwww moment.
Parade at Dunblane

And I will never tire of hearing announcers welcome Andy onto court with Olympic and USO Champion!!!!

Seeing that Olympic Gold winning ace hit the service box smack bang in the corner and watching that return of serve at 40-15 go screaming out. Racquet drops to floor...US Open Champion 2012. The best. FACT.

Fabulous picture! I remember he always used to do that jump when he won DC matches.

My best moment was seeing Andy play against Berdych at the O2 World Tour Finals. I've always talked about how Andy's tennis has been like a beacon of hope for me and something positive to cling to - in the latter half of this year I've struggled with depression (as an illness), but seeing him come back from a losing position to win in the way that he did I found really inspiring! :)

My other highlight was knowing that we'll go into 2013 never having to hear someone ask "When will Murray win his first GS?" ever again... ;)

Take care... :)

obviously on the good side it has to be the Olympic Gold and the US Open win. Thrilled when he did so well in London and beat Djoker and Fed back to back, really did feel like a slam that one. US Open of course was great, watched all his matches then got pumped in the final, was excited when he got off to such a great start, panicky when Djoker started coming back, and hyped up as all get out when he finally won the thing, it was nice to support the guy who won a slam for once, after so many close calls.

On the negative side
Wimby final was a heartbreaker, watched it till the end, thought he could do it only to see it slip away, same with that epic Aussie Open semi with Djoker, which I honestly enjoyed, but frustrated me greatly, then he lost to Fed and Djoker back to back in Dubai and Miami, which worried me, but really the low point was that horrid match against Gasquet in Rome.. even though it was on clay, he just seemed so out of sync with his game and I was freaking out over what was up with him.

It was also a bit frustrating when he lost that bad match to Chardy in Cincy.. but the US Open took all those memories away.

Meanwhile I watch all my tennis the same way, glued to twitter, by myself.. so its all pretty typical, getting amped up with everyone else, and hyped down when everyone else does.

Watching Andy win the semis and finals of the US Open. It was my first trip to the Open and I went with the hopes and plan that he would win. Even with tons of rain, very windy conditions and having to extend our trip by one extra night (hotel was easy, flight back to LA was not)... it was all worth it being there and watching him win in person! That is my absolute favorite Andy moment of 2012. :)

Do not know how I missed this thread. My favourite moment was when he sank down on his haunches after winning the US Open and I stood there with tears streaming down my face. My other special moment was that joyful, emotional leap on Centre Court. Brought tears to my eyes.

Yes, I remember he always used to do that leap when he won matches at Davis Cup.

When you look at the two reactions it shows the pressure that Andy has been under to win an open.

The elated leap into the air after the olympics - so happy and so willing to be seen to be triumphant
Compare that with the young man on his haunches, exhausted and still not quite believing what he had achieved. No elation, no roar of satisfaction, just raw relief
