The ATP Rulebook doesn't make for light reading and has often tied it's readers (and sometimes itself) in knots.
This thread is for various vital bits of information taken from it and additional information relating to elements of the professional tour that don't fit anywhere else.
It'll be kept closed so it's for reference only but updates for discussion will be copied into the ATP thread in Tour Tennis. If anyone has more information to add please post there so we can keep this thread also updated.
This is a work in progress ... so some of the current post headings may change to suit the needs of making the information easy to find/understand.

New Rules for 2013
NEW YORK, Sept 2012 — At its recent meetings in New York, the ATP Board of Directors approved a rule change and a trial for the 2013 season, both proposed by the new ATP Competition Committee.
The new ATP Competition Committee serves in an advisory capacity, with any recommended changes or innovations requiring approval by the ATP Board of Directors.
The six-person committee consists of two representatives designated by the ATP Tournament Council, two representatives designated by the ATP Player Council, and one at-large member and a committee chairman, both selected by the ATP Executive Chairman and President.
TIME VIOLATIONS
From 2013, on both the ATP World Tour and ATP Challenger Tour, a time violation between points (25 seconds) will be penalised in the first instance with a warning. For the second and all subsequent violations, the penalty will be a fault for the server and a point penalty for the receiver.
Currently, the rule is a warning and then point penalty for both the server and receiver.
“There’s been a lot of discussion about the amount of time taken between points,” said ATP Executive Chairman and President Brad Drewett (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Players/D040.aspx). “We believe this modification will give officials a useful tool and allow for more consistent enforcement of the current time violation rule.”
NO-LET TRIAL
The ATP Board also approved a trial elimination of the service let on the ATP Challenger Tour only, for the first three months of 2013.
“Although this change will not materially reduce the length of a match, we believe it should have a positive impact on the flow of the match,” said Drewett. “We’re certainly not ready yet to eliminate the service let, but believe a trial at the ATP Challenger level will be a good way to test this initiative in a competitive environment and get feedback from players and the public before deciding if it could be adapted more broadly.”

NEW ATP LIVESCOREBOARD
The ATP have introduced a new livescoreboard which seems to be similar to Slamtracker.
You need updated Flash player to get it to work properly and there are issues for those using older versions of Internet Explorer as their browser. Mozilla Firefox and Chrome seem to manage it AOK.
It offers an option to choose a tournament to follow and when you do you'll get a lot more information in one place than on the old livescoreboard. So that is a bonus. Also, you can get Challenger livescores from the main screen.
However, it isn't functioning properly (see list below from other forums) and is a fixed size which takes up about 75% of your screen so you can't follow one tournament whilst watching another. Also, you cannot flip between tournaments; you have to either open a 2nd LSB or close the tournament you're in and click to load another one.
Problems reported so far:-
1. on internet explorer I'm stuck on homepage, it works on firefox though
2. when you want to see matchstats of a current match and it's not the main court match, it automatically jumps to the main court match 2 seconds after seeing the stats of the match you wanted !! Impossible to see the stats of the match I wanted for more than 2 seconds !
3. the matchstats are too large for my screen : I have to roll down everytime instead of having a full vision as I could have with the ancient livescores.
4. It's pretty, but it bounces me between matches, doesn't work half the time, and break points saved is listed as break points won.
5. Results section up the swannee
Saturday -> Click on results, says no results for that day, go ahead a day, suddenly switches to the schedule
Sunday -> Click on results, says no results, this time there is no option to switch days
Today -> Click on results, says no results for that day, go ahead a day, suddenly switches to the schedule
For those who dislike the new LSB here are links to the old style which is currently still running.
Not sure for how long it'll continue though ...
ATP/WTA main tour events: http://www.protennislive.com/frameset.asp?year=2013&wkno=1&lang=en&tabno=1&eventid=0573&ref=www.atpworldtour.com
Challengers (ATP/WTA): http://www.protennislive.com/frameset.asp?year=2013&wkno=1C&lang=en&tabno=1&eventid=0448&ref=www.pekaoszczecinopen.eu/2012/
To access the old style LSB in future weeks will require editing the url with the week (and possibly the event ID)
e.g. (without http://www.protennislive.com/frameset.asp? which you need to add back)
Week 10 would be year=2013&wkno=10&lang=en&tabno=1&eventid=0573&ref=www.atpworldtour.com
