I haven't had any of these pop-ups . . . but that's probably 'cos I use AdBlock Plus. Perhaps everyone else should too?

I get these pop-ups every time I enter the site.
Same and sometimes on each thread I open up.
I checked my pop-up blocker and it has been on (MS Edge Browser) .The pop-ups seem to have stopped now :thumbup:.
One other question, is there a mobile version of this site? I can hardly see it on my android phone. But its fine on tablet and desktop PC.
I don't have any problems with this site on my Android. Haven't noticed any pop ups today either, (both on the Android and the laptop) Like you, Big Al, my blocker is on and I also use MS Edge Browser.

There's been an issue with some adware code injected into the site.
As far as I can tell, it's been removed. If you're still being redirected then it might be you need to clear your cache - how you do that will depend on your phone/browser.

I hope this is the right place to ask. Although I am permanently logged in on my laptop so I don't need to enter username and password I rarely login on the ipad as usually just read posts there. I can't actually remember when I did last login on ipad. Today when I try with my username and what I think is my password it tells me one of them is invalid, presumably the password. So then I tried asking to reset or change my password and obviously had to say had forgotten password, ok up to when it says an email has been sent telling me how to change it. I have now done this 3 times and no email has appeared. Am I doing something wrong? I even tried to register but it said username already exists. Now terrified to ever logout on laptop!

Just to let you know I have logged out and back in again to see if that might sort it.
Have you tried going onto the relevant forum and clicking on "forum tools" there. Or did you unsubscribe from somewhere else?

I only had this problem after signing up for emails via settings and the putting it back to original.
I have just gone into settings again and found a list of threads so I've removed the lot.
If it's worked then I'll start again from the threads instead.

Hey guys, I created a thread for Shenzhen and Chengdu and titled it as such but I've just noticed that the thread name is now this + Kuala Lumpur. I'm not sure how to change it back. I left it off as Chengdu has now replaced Kuala Lumpur from this year on. Not a big deal, just makes it a bit unclear.

Sorry that was my fault. I checked on the ATP site calender to add in tournaments and Kuala Lumpur was listed in the calendar so I added it. Did not notice the word "cancelled" beside it. Only mods can change the title.
Oh I see. I didn't realise that only mods could. I wasn't sure if it was a glitch or had linked up to last year or had been changed lol. I don't know why it's on the calendar on their site when it's been removed from the app. Though the ATP site didn't have it listed before yesterday. Then kept messing around and not allowing you to open pages and when it came back on it appeared in the list. I guess many websites were playing around yesterday.

Now read the Shanghai thread and realise that some members couldn't get on yesterday. All becomes clear(ish)

That might be a possibility although it usually tells you more bluntly that either your in box or your sent box is full and you need to delete some messages before you can receive/send any more.

The difficulty being that if it is intermittent we cannot know what is causing the problem.
If/when the mods have the same problem we can try to figure out the reason behind the scenes.

I was logged out on my phone for no apparent reason - I also asked for a password reminder to be sent but it hasn't arrived. Thankfully, my memory is better than I thought and I was able to log in again...

It's very strange, but nine times out of ten when I access the forum on my Kindle I get redirected to the Amazon App Store. It doesn't happen with any other websites. :confused:

I've finally found an explanation for this, it seems that there is a setting somewhere in the mechanics of the forum that times out a post that is "under construction" if it takes too long to be posted. Typing is not seen as an activity, so if you are typing out a long post, all the forum sees is a prolonged period of inactivity, and it times you out, i.e. your token expires.
This would be something that davech would have to look at as the techie admin.

Thanks for reply. Has anyone else had this problem? The strange thing is when I'm typing blogs and you know how long some entries are I don't get this problem. I've had it for quite short ones so not sure if this is the glitch. Anyway over to davech.
We also have someting called "autosave". When you are typing something in and it crashes, if you go back into the thread to reply again somewhere there is an icon to click on to bring it back.
I've not had it happen to me, but even so, if typing something that is likely to take a while, such as a blog, I type it in Word and cut & paste it into the forum.
It has happened to me, no necessarily on a long post but when I have begun typing, then gone back to it later and finished it. It says token expired, but then I pressed the back button and my post is still there just not submitted. So I copied and pasted it into my phone notes. Then refreshed the page I was going to post on before copying it back over. It's happening more frequently as I keep starting and not finishing posts.

Think it's Sally who deals with password resets if problem receiving the email (mind from others in the past) , obviously unavailable for a few days though. I assume Kev has also checked Junk Mail just in case.

Is there something wrong this forum today? I couldn't get on do FTM and FTD for Shanghai (lucky hfwardhouse did it instead). Forum works but very very very very slow to load. About 3-5 minutes. Not my internet connection cos all website load normal speed.

The forum was down again this morning briefly but has been running very slowly since it came back up - be careful if you're posting to be patient and not hit post again as you'll end up with double posts ... I found this out earlier .... I'm now trying to be patient but it's hard .... setting up the FTM/FTD threads took about half an hour .... :grrr:

If you see autosave and can't find your post it probably means the post did not send properly. If you click on autosave it should come back up for you to post.

Try this. Click on Reply to thread.
Keep an eye on the posting box and look for a message to flash up saying
"restore saved content". Click on that message and your words should appear.
Sorry I can't be more help; probably need to be sat alongside you 'cos once
you've made it work it'll be much easier next time.

Help, please, I'm having trouble logging on using my tablet, it just takes taking me back to the first log in page, I have tried both options of putting in my username and password manually and also using the auto fill, but still no luck, any ideas?
I am able to log in using my laptop - have tried staying logged in, and also logging out of laptop when trying to access via the tablet. I never had any issues previously logging in with my tablet.
I advise clearing your browsing history/cookies on your tablet and then trying again.

My laptop is three years old and it now takes up to ten minutes to start working. Is it something to do with the battery?
No, almost certainly needs its memory upgraded.

You would need to buy it. If you aren't comfortable with doing it yourself, I recommend that you take it to a local PC repair shop.

You should be able to delete cookies from any browser as well as history in the same menu, not sure which browser you are using on Tablet but there is a guide here https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-delete-cookies-2617981 I Are you using an Ipad or another tablet?

Thanks for your response, I am not computer savvy, so I took my tablet to a computer shop where they looked at my settings, they said that it wasn't my tablet so they sent an email using the help button on my behalf suggesting what could be done to help me, perhaps I will have to take it back to the shop to try again, this is turning out to be a real pain:sad::red devil:

If you are using Chrome (which seems to be the default for Acer) if you go to Advanced on the History Tab you can also clear cached images and Auto fill Data. Another thing you could try is to switch to Airplane mode for a minute and back again (resets cache)

What you trying to replace with mobile phone with? Texting? Or it general browsing, email, apps and games? It be easier give better recommendation what you want new device to do replace mobile.
You could get iPad mini but it is expensive out of all tablet market. Other "tablet" aren't very good tablet and hardly any apps available for them and get out of date quickly. It depends what you want cheap tablet you use once in while or want use it all the time which means need better tablet.

Tablets or laptops don’t do calls. They do completely different jobs. It’s probably better to keep a mobile phone for things like breakdowns, or if you lose your car keys.
Same with computers. What do you want it to do? Store photographs, Internet browsing, printing etc? Heavy work or light work? I use my iPad for most things, but for any serious work I get the Laptop out.

The phone, which I've got, is my sister's old one. I had to top it up, again, but I now think the battery is slowing going and Apple charge £49 for a new one as it's an Apple phone. Though it's the same make, as the old one, they changed the style of the car key so nobody can lose it.

If it nothing do with phone functions as such phone call and text then sounds like tablet be good idea for you. If you plan use it lot and want it be small then iPad mini would be best and it same as iPhone except it bigger so not much re-learning need for that. If you plan use it less and don't want spend too much money then any cheap tablet will do but don't expect it work too well and limit choices on for apps.
Apple battery charge £49 is actually very cheap. They usually charge £79 for new battery in iPhone but late 2018 and 2019 they reduce price and not sure if it temporary or permanent.

Hi Stell, I have an Asus note book which I bought thinking it is small and I will take with me everywhere. Turns out it's just too heavy and quite slow as it can change into a tablet. I am now looking for an ipad mini. Mostly looking at the mini 4 as it is not the newest but I think it is quite close in spec to the newest (apart from the camera which is much better on the newest version). They keep popping up in some places for around £250 but they sell out quickly as they are usually around £350!
My parents have now told me, they'll buy me something for Christmas. Though, my dad's Alheimer's disease is getting worse as he doesn't know which month we're in.

We had a server upgrade yesterday and, whilst it was successful overall in updating our security, there are a couple of issues which have arisen which we are struggling to resolve.

1 Missing posts
We have lost all posts from approximately 7.30pm last night until approximately 6.30pm today (23hrs). We may not be able to recover them.
We think the threads affected might be Dan Evans, Fed Cup, Rotterdam/NewYork tournament threads, FTD (but Speedy will have records so can check if anything is missing). There may be other threads which we are not aware of (Speedy has just mentioned the Who is going to Wimbledon thread).
If you made a post on a thread during the time period stated above, and it's missing, you could just post again.
2. Blocked thread
The Open Sud thread in Jamie's Joint isn't accessible to anyone. We have found a work round, in this instance, and collated posts and put them into a replacement thread so you can continue to comment. It will be loaded up into the forum shortly.
There may be other 'locked' threads but so far we haven't found any, it's taking time to go through all of them and check.
We understand there won't be any further problems.

For some reason I am logged out and have to log in, but this is difficult as it seems to think I’m a new member and have to fill in the log in on the top of the page and then go to another page to give my user name and password. Go offline and when I return have to go through all of the above.

We think we’ve discovered what causes threads to show the “Forbidden” messages. It looks like threads don’t like having brackets in the title, so please bear this in mind when starting a thread. We can sometimes, but not always, correct it afterwards, but it’s best if we don’t have to!

If you do have a problem getting on to the site again Jane then you may be able to get on using a VPN (ask a techy friend if you don't know what it is). I have times when I cannot get on either and I can always get on using a VPN.

We had to be sure what was causing a problem before posting about it.
Unfortunately, (and we hope no longer now we know what it is) it has caused a bit of problem for some people accessing the site but we think it's all now sorted out.

To fix it, we will need the IP address of the place where you are being blocked, be it at home, work or wherever.

When you log in next time do 3 steps
1. Put your user name as usual
2. Just below it is a box saying 'remember me', so tick that
3. Enter your password and then submit as usual.
That should keep you logged in.

When I got up, earlier, I found my internet wasn't working. Since then, I found, I can only use the laptop for about one or two minutes before the internet goes off again. Does anyone have a solution?
Luckily, for me, my mum solved the problem for me. I'm now hoping it won't do it again.

Why this forum so so so slow recently? When I try do FTM/FTD web page take over minute to load, about 2-3 mins to do anything. Make doing scoring or setting up threads for FTM/FTD long time instead of less than min job.
It seems be random. Sometimes it normal and other times it so so so slow. Defo not my internet since any other website is normal speed. Just this forum.
I'm having slowness problems with the forum too right now.

Yep it just did it again now while I am trying to do FTM and FTD. 2 mins job end up being 20 mins instead while trying to do scoring all threads so far.
There are problems with caching on the wider server. A solution is being worked on, but we can't say when it will be fixed. Some times of the day are better than others.

It has been better for me the past few days.
One of the things needing done to fix the forum issue is to migrate to a new server. This will involve some forum downtime and then some reconfiguration at our end. This is due to take place at 1pm tomorrow. We can't say how long this will take. I advise that any competition entries are done before then.

The forum is fine for me on laptop but on iPad "Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server". Does anyone know how to get this back to normal?
Maybe wait and see if the teething problems resolve. I am finding I can get onto the forum sometimes and not others - on a laptop.

I am able get in and see some of FTM/FTD thread and edit just 1st round though cannot see overall prediction ones or edit that. Bit better than yesterday. Will see after rounds today be completed see if I am able post new threads if forum allows me to.
Also having issues today. Some threads open normally, others won?t open at all.
Sent a PM yesterday and not sure if that was sent or received.
Let?s just move to Facebook! It would be MUCH easier ;)

I've also been having problems, when I have a look at some threads. I wanted to put an obituary for my cousin's ex husband, William Friedkin, had died yesterday. But, I just keep getting some rubbish language instead.
