View Full Version : Bubble Gap 2013 - Miami: Deadline 20th March 3.00pm UK time

Right everybody wakey wakey let's get started as quickly as possible, it's the last race before the clay season. No lazing about please you've done enough of that already at Indian Wells. ;)
As always rules are posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?1630-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2013&p=116180&viewfull=1#post116180). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after Miami. The current race rankings are as follows:
http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/847/racepremiami.png
The current bubble gap is 800. That's Andy's score(1630) – Tsonga's score(830) = 800.
Players in grey are not playing in Miami.
The highest possible bubble gap is 1790. That's Andy winning the title, Tsonga going out in the 1st round and no-one else overtaking him.
The smallest bubble gap is 110. This involves Andy going out in the 1st round with Tsonga winning Miami and Gasquet the finalist.
So in summary, your guess is between 110 and 1790. If you don't want to do any maths then just guess a random number and see how things turn out!
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.
Ranking points on offer at Miami are as follows:
R1: 10
R2: 25
R3: 45
R4: 90
QF: 180
SF: 360
F: 600
W: 1000
Good luck to all who take part and may the best driver win! :trophy:
Deadline: Wednesday 20th March, 3.00pm*
*Provisional deadline as Wednesday has Men and Women matches so the exact time will depend on the OOP.

Closed to entries ...
Its going to be another long slow race with no action until hopefully Andy reaches the final (though even that may cause little action if 2 of Tsonga, Gasquet or Nishikori reach the quarters) and then fingers crossed goes on to win it. For this competition to get exciting it needs people to be prepared to forecast on Andy losing reasonably early as well as having those who predict based on Andy going deep.

Maybe when we get to the red stuff for the next race!
Who on earth is going to predict Andy losing before the semis in any tournament? (Unless he is unlucky enough to draw Rafa in the RG quarters, fingers crossed that he doesn't.)
13 drivers arrive in hot Miami for the final hard court race before the clay.
Yorkie blitzes the competition in qualifying this time to take pole position.
JAMES4578, jaysee and Linda, 3 of 4 players who have been hogging the podium finishes this season so far, follow closely behind him.
Manaus and 2012 champion DaveArneRiise start in the 3rd row, the latter hoping for a better result this race after a shaky start to the season.
Genbrit and pabbers are on the 4th row with the top 10 rounded off by Sallydaisy and hfwardhouse.
Nice conditions out there, hopefully the drivers will have a chance to enjoy it. :)
Apologies for the late update, been busy this week.
Race has started though, after a short delay to get in some early Easter celebrations and some time to clear away all the eggs. No action yet but I get the feeling that something is going to happen soon...
We finally get our first bit of action for this season thanks to young Bernie. Seems he's been a bit too enthusiastic with his egg rolling and some of them are still rolling around the track. Yorkie, JAMES4578 and jaysee swerve out of control and give the opening needed for DaveArneRiise, Manaus and Genbrit to overtake and push ahead.
I'm going to have some words with Bernie after this race...
Think I will have to slow up as running out of fuel. Hopefully I will still be in the points but not on the podium.:floppy::cauldron:
Dang it Bernie how many eggs were you rolling around? :grrr: It's absolute pandemonium as the drivers try to dodge all the eggs, fail and slide around crashing into the nearest obstacle (or other drivers). Many are forced to enter the pits and there are questions whether anybody will finish this race.
Sensibly, Elenive, Golden Lady and hfwardhouse have been taking things slowly (and munching happily on :chocegg:) at the back and casually pass the finish line like the whole thing was a leisurely Sunday drive.
