Great game from Andy and netcord assists on last point, must consolidate though and not Richie back in.
Gasquet seems to be tiring :cauldron:

Lawks a mercy, a murraycoaster! First miami match i have watched, beginning to think i am unlucky jinx. Trying to decide whether to stay up .... Watching on my smart tv on the william hill website for first time too.
Nice hold. Another break would do nicely now.

I'd be happier if he could get an "insurance" break. I know, I'm greedy!

YESSS. Double break. serving for the 2nd set - let's hope it goes better than the similar situation in the first :)
YESSS - second set to Andy 6-1 :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
Feeling a lot better now! Into a 3rd set we go. Hold on tight folks.

MTO for Gasquet, foot problem. Keep him running, Andy!
guess so Manaus ;)
blister time out
Gasquet seemingly treated for blisters - mercifully we are not actually seeing it, I still haven't recovered from the sight of Andy's blisters at the aussie open final!

I saw them too James :hide:

Very optiministic, looking ahead:
Head to head with Andy/Ferrer is 6-5 to Andy, with Andy 5-1 on hard courts, his only loss on hard courts to Ferrer came at the WTF RR in 2011 (although we know Andy was exhausted for the WTF then, having overplayed with the Asian swing just before)

Yeah!!! That's the way Andy, ignore the Dicky feet and play to win!

Come on Andy. Safe hold for service game now please.
Ferrer and Haas were on for 2 hrs 2 mins, so far Andy/Richie have been on for 1 hr 47 mins. So game time in semies should be pretty even for both finalists really.

I think Andy did outstandingly well in the first set to put a damper on Ritchie who was playing sensationally at the start, even though he went on to lose the set.
Loved some of Andy's tennis tonight. Probably the best we have seen since the AO. I love it when he is aggressive and makes time for his shots as he is then very aggressive but very solid at the same time. A few signs of the future tonight methinks!
That was an excellent match with some breathtaking tennis from both players. :)
At the end of the first set I got myself a cup of coffee 'cos I didn't think I'd be able to stay awake much longer but now I probably won't be able to sleep all night

I listened to 5Live and watched the match and other than they were using Andy and Gasquet's name it could've been two different matches. The problem with radio commentary is there can be no silences so they fill it with negativity in the case of Briggs and Law. Their parting shot was "It's not the performance he'd want to give him confidence going into the final".:grrr:

well, got the result, hope he won't falter when serving for it on sunday, or need an insurance break. first set debacle must have shaken him, bet lendl not amused! but credit to andy for putting that behind him and powering through next 2 sets. roll on sunday

The 5Live commies were obviously watching a different match from the rest of us then - some of the shot making was amazing. Petch compared it to Picasso playing Monet - two artists at work!

Bit worrying that he couldn't serve for the first set but the outcome was not really in doubt because Andy has nerves of steel these days.
Credit to both players for some brilliant shots but Andy will need more consistency against Ferrer - well done for getting to the final though
I have to say I was strangely calm - a bit like the US Open - I never really doubted he would win.
What a wonderful match, the first set was the best set i've seen this year. I'll take stuff like that over 6 hour fitness tests any day of the week.
So nice to see two players using the whole court.
It feels like he's really going up through the gears now, shame there isn't another hard court slam in a couple of weeks!

It was a pleasure to watch two such skilful, artistic players bring out the best in each other
Wonderful match to watch. Some truly breathtaking shots from both. Great result.
Andy will bring what he needs to the match tomorrow which won't be the same as today. Thankfully he has versatility which Ferrer doesn't. His style and strategy are same old, same old. Still, Andy will need to focus and play some smart tennis if he's to tame the terrier!

I know what you mean.
I just read today that Brad Gilbert tweeted after Gasquet's QF that he thought it was the best Ritchie had ever played on hard courts.
Yesterday he tailed off towards the end but Andy had to overcome somebody playing extremely well. Lots of props for that!
