View Full Version : Bubble Gap 2013 - Rome: Deadline Sun 12th May 12 noon tbc

It's getting rather hectic in Madrid but there's no time for rest as the drivers will be whisked off to Rome the moment they're finished for the next race. No excuses either as I've already got all your flights booked. Podium placers can celebrate on the plane if they wish. :shelebrate:

As always rules are posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?1630-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2013&p=116180&viewfull=1#post116180). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after Rome. The current race rankings are as follows:

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6624/raceprerome.png
The current bubble gap is 1495. That's Andy's score(2900) – Gasquet's score(1405) = 1495.

The highest possible bubble gap is 2485. That's Andy winning the title, Gasquet going out in the 1st round and no-one else overtaking him.
The smallest bubble gap is 980. This involves Andy going out in the 1st round with Gasquet winning the title and Del Potro the finalist.

As you know the Madrid Masters is still going on. The winner of Nadal and Wawrinka will get an additional 400 points.

So in summary, your guess is between 980 and 2485. If you don't want to do any maths then just guess a random number and see how things turn out!
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.

Ranking points on offer for the Masters tournaments are:

R1: 10
R2: 45
R3: 90
QF: 180
SF: 360
F: 600
W: 1000

Good luck to all who take part and may the best driver win! :trophy:

Deadline: Sunday 12th May, 12pm UK time*

*Again I can't find any tournament schedule so no idea of the deadline. I'll update once more info comes out. Apologies for getting this one out so late as well – I blame Andy. ;)

Thanks manaus. Hmmm, so we have to do this one before the Madrid final? That could make a big difference as Stan is looking very good.

Chart updated with Madrid QF results. Andy going out and Wawrinka winning has reduced the BG (and highest/lowest ranges) by 45.

11 drivers make it in time for the race in Rome, the others must have missed the flight. Oh well, no time to wait qualifying should be nice and quick with fewer drivers.

Manaus comes out on top for the first time this year, just narrowly beating Linda who's aiming for her 4th pole finish.
Madrid podium placer JAMES4578 and cazza99 take 3rd and 4th place.
DaveArnRiise and Elenive occupy 5th and 6th whilst Madrid winner pabbers and Sallydaisy take 7th and 8th.
Golden Lady and Genbrit fill up the rest of the top 10.

Less drivers on the track should mean less chance of accidents happening...at least I hope so.

Manaus doesn't hold the pole position for long. Within 1 lap of the race Linda easily passes him but this is followed by some impressive driving from DaveArneRiise and Elenive, both managing to push to the front, the former just squeezing past Linda to pole.

Can DaveArneRiise hold onto his position or will someone else take the trophy?

DaveArneRiise

Unlikely, require Jerry to beat Gasquet, and Federer is likely to reach the latter part of this tournament with other big seeds going out.

:dance::dance::dance:

Although wish it wasn't the case... I'm concerned about Andy's injury for Paris, yet alone the grass court season

Looks like you will be the winner.

DaveArneRiise makes a good attempt at staying on top but he's unable to stop an inspired Elenive who manages to take 1st place on the last lap and finishes with the trophy.

Well done to Elenive, DaveArneRiise and Linda. Perhaps not the happiest victory with Andy's injury concerns but good predicting nevertheless. Regardless of whether Andy participates at the French Open or not there will be a bubble gap for it so I'll see you there.:pierre:
