Well the season draws to a close and the Grand Final next Saturday at Old Trafford will be contested between Leeds Rhinos and St Helens, the Saints. On Friday Warrington, who had chosen to play Leeds instead of Wigan or St Helens were defeated much to the delight of the St Helens supporters. Last night a hard, physical contest between Saints and Wigan resulted in a triumph for Saints 26-18, strangely enough the same result as in an earlier play-off round while I was in Glasgow. So once again, we are going to the Superleague Grand Final. Please God this year we can win!! Come on you Saints!!:thumbup::thumbup::cheer::cheer:

Really disappointed that we lost....again!! But as we didn't think we would even get there and taking into consideration the injury count and the young Academy players who had been doing their best this season, Saints have nothing to be ashamed of. They were guilty of playing safe and not taking the game to Leeds in the first half but Leeds were much better throughout. The young players have had the experience of a Grand Final and we now have to look to the future. New stadium, the best in Superleague, will be their home next season and we can look forward to better things...might even win a Grand Final!!!

Didn't see the full game SG but Shenton's injury had a huge bearing on the game. Leeds may have won anyway but the margin flattered them. The dislocation looked horrific on TV replays.

St Helens RL Club has a new home...the brand new Langtree Park Stadium near the town centre. The Saints have played three games, won two and drawn one. They are currently in 2nd place behind Warrington.Tomorrow they will play the French team Catalan Dragons at home.

What a shock. Catalan Dragons came from 8-26 to win in dying seconds 34-32. It was a very good, exciting match to watch but no way should St Helens have let that happen. Catalan scored three tries in the last eight minutes. Defence needs tightening up even more. Lomax, Roby, Wellens and Foster reliable as ever. Early days I know so come on Saints.

Well, Saints lost to Huddersfield Giants 16-17. A better score than most people predicted but defence still needs sorting. SuperLeague is a marathon not a sprint so, hopefully as the season progresses the coach will have the team he and the rest of us want out there. Out winning matches which will lead us to another Grand Final. Fingers crossed.

No Grand Final for St Helens this year. After a very uninspired season last night Leeds put them out of Grand Final contention. It was a very close and exciting match and Saints played really well and might have clinched it. Leeds through 11-10. Hoping better things for next season.
