View Full Version : TFF Dream Team Roland Garros 2013
Entries are now open for the TFF Dream Team comp for RG 2013 (http://www.tffdreamteam.com/frenchopen/).
If you've entered before, you need to re-register in order to play (they set it up anew for each slam).
For those who haven't entered before, 'Tennis For Free' run this competition in the hope of raising funds. You can, if you wish, donate to Tennis For Free when selecting your Dream Team but it's not compulsory. The website is here.
You have to register and then pick your teams for both the men's and women's singles. Only once you have picked your teams does it give you the opportunity to join a group. I've set up our group as Andy Murray Fan Forum and the password is 762ead3aa09da455f2f30ed98bc8f13c. I'm sorry that this password is so long but I didn't choose it, they allocate it to us. I suggest copying and pasting it when joining the group.
It's very easy to pick your teams and they can be changed up until the start of play.
Linda, you haven't hyperlinked the website!
I couldn't get the link to work and so I Googled Dreamteam and that link won't work either :crying:
I can't connect to it now - maybe the site has crashed? It was working fine earlier.
Yup, the site must have crashed as the url in their email does not work either.

No updates yet
They haven't updated for today's results yet. But at the moment, our group is headed by GoGOATs - who is that?
A wee bit of news, the TFF scoring is no longer just "them", but partially "us". It's been one guy dealing with it, they are a charity remember, and he has asked for our help.
I've just scored the women's matches for today, and I'm going to start on the men's now. Please let me know if you see any glaring errors as the system is fairly cumbersome and taking some getting used to.

My womens team is first overall out of everyone :yahoo:
Well done Dave!
Many thanks for volunteering to do the TFF scoring, Hawkeye! :thanks:
My womens team is first overall out of everyone :yahoo:Just stick the cheque in the post. ;)

And Pabbers' men's team is first overall out of everyone!
Should Pabbers be sending a cheque to Hawkeye too? ;)

And indeed it didn't!:crying:
I see that I am now top of our group for men's team and overall - Dave is still top of our group for women's team, and has just dropped one place to second place out of all entrants. (NB total number of entrants - 393 overall, 372 men's and 391 women's.) I intended to copy the full table here tonight at the end of the 1st round, but due to the rain there are still first round matches to be played. You can see the table anyway here (http://www.tffdreamteam.com/frenchopen/mygroup.php).

well done Linda .... I expect I'm still propping everyone up ;) .... must stock up on bananas just in case :big grin:
Great stuff Linda.
I know I say this every time but I still can't fathom how time and time again I do better in the women's team.
Usually I do better with my women's team, which is very strange as I know nothing about the women! And I don't know whether Dave is a particular aficionado of women's tennis either.

Does a player get any points if he won via a walkover?
Does a player get any points if he won via a walkover?
With the scoring system being used don't think so.
Well done Genbrit and James.
Down the chart I go!
I've just asked the web admin that very question. He can't remember how a walkover has been scored in the past, and frankly neither can I. What does everyone think? 0 points all round seems unfair to me, perhaps just a straight sets bonus?

Agree too, that would be the best idea.
Well done Genbrit and James.
Well, my time at the top didn't last long enough for me to see it!!! Congrats Linda you have overtaken me again and I am dropping rapidly.:coaster: I guess this is so we don't miss out on a rollercoaster ride this tournament.
Some strange things happening here! Dave is second in the women's but bottom in the men's! James is top in the women's and despite being only 12th in the men's is second in the overall! I'm still 1st in the men's and overall ( but only 6th in the women's) but having lost 2 men and 4 women will definitely being dropping soon. Others doing well are Manaus, Pabbers and Genbrit. Hawkeye is 3rd in the men's but bottom in the women's!
That's just in our group. But on the table of everyone, James is second in the women's! Well done James! Also Dave is 9th in the women's and I'm 16th in the men's.

I don't think it's been updated for the semifinals yet as Tsonga hasn't been crossed off my team yet.
The fault was entirely mine, all has been updated now though.
Thanks Hawkeye. If everything has been updated, here are the final results:
