40-40 Andy's first shot after the return on his serve could do with being a bit more forceful - he is giving the initiative to Mahut.

Well as long as it is black or white (sky and match) and they are not dragged out for ten minutes play every hour...
I have just created this match thread and moved all the Andy/Mahut posts to here.
If the mods have not been able to set up a match thread in time before Andy plays, any forum member is welcome to set one up. Its also OK to just put "for further info" in the first post for a mod to add to it later on if the person setting up the thread does not want to write any introductory info.

They have gone off again as its too slippery.
Rain could be on or off all afternoon.

Well least Andy is being cautious too, don't want to have further injury problems in this important part of the season!

Huh?? Raced home from work in the hopes of seeing some of Andy's match but the Beeb seems to be showing Berdy instead! I guess that means there's another rain delay for Andy?
I must admit I selfishly hoped there might be :shamed: otherwise I'd probably have missed the whole match - but it's ok, I'm here now, so you can come back out as soon as you like, guys ;)
there is play on all other courts, inc the one where jamie and john peers won in straight sets, playing dimitrov and nielsen. dimi seems to be having a bad day doesn't he
They are back on court now, play is to resume shortly!
Don't know if you guys have seen the trailer for Andy's documentary 'The Man Behind The Racket', but I just watched it online while they were showing a replay of Berdy's match, defo DEFO worth the watch, looks amazing! It is on the BBC Sport tennis page, but there is also a link on it from the newspaper/internet reports thread. I'm sure it is also going to be on iplayer soon too, I'm guessing they showed it on tv today during some of the rain breaks etc.

Tsonga's R2 match didn't even start today, so he or Roger-Vasselin will have to play two complete matches tomorrow, so it seems reasonable to put him on first!
(Plus more of the crowd might have arrived in time for Andy...)

Great shot at the end - don't know how that stayed in (well, spin but you know what I mean!).
Saved two BPs there and was a bit casual up to then in a way he was not yesterday.

Mahut has carried on where he left off yesterday and Andy seemingly not as sharp. Needs to hold until he finds that extra gear. C'mon Andy!

Andy is doing some glorious shots. Nicolas is such an attractive player that I think he brings out the best in Andy!

Agree Andy is doing some great shots, it is just keeping the consistency -he will win this in two depending on the quality of his worst, not his best, shots!

Glad Andy seen off in Mahut in 2, with another match to play even if in the event the Matosevic encounter was very comfortable.
