View Full Version : WTA Pick 'Em: BOTP - Wimbledon 2013
Hi,
I am going to be away next weekend, from 9am on Friday until 5pm on Monday.
This kind of puts a Wimbledon BOTP in jeopardy.
I can think of only 2 options:
1. Maybe I could email the draw template to someone - they could copy the players into that, and make te entry form available on this board as per usual;
2. I put one together on Monday teatime with the results so far based on higher ranking for each match. Everyone could then complete their entries for the remaining results on Monday evening - or before 11am on Tuesday.
I will post this on cc board too. I am open to suggestions with this.
I could probably set it up on Friday evening if you send me the draw template.
Thanks Manaus - that is very much appreciated! I can definitely e-mail you the template.
I shall hopefully do that tomorrow or Monday. :)

No problem. Also for people on the CC forum, I can upload the spreadsheet to GoogleDocs and post the link on this thread. That way they wouldn't have to create an AM forum account to get the file.

Ah - that is great - thanks again!! I shall let CC folk know about this.
I have e-mailed you a blank predictions form with just a few notes about adding the players to this. I would expect that it is relatively self-explanatory - but please do let me know if you have any queries relating to this.
The entry form is ready and can be downloaded below.
You've got 2 ways of getting the file. I've attached the form to this post as an attachment, you can download that and then unzip it using winzip or winrar (both can be downloaded for free).
Alternatively for those who can't open zip files I've uploaded the form to GoogleDocs and the link to that is below. Just click on the link and it'll take you to the form. From there click on File near the top left of the web page and select download to save a copy of the file.
You'll need a Office suite program like Microsoft Office to open the file. If you don't have this you can download LibreOffice or OpenOffice for free and they'll open the file too. Filling the form is pretty straightforward and the spreadsheet gives instructions on how to submit your entry.
Best of luck!

29-Alize Cornet (France) beat Vania King (U.S.) 4-6 6-3 6-1 (86-14)
Andrea Petkovic (Germany) beat Pauline Parmentier (France) 6-3 6-2 (86-14)

Eugenie Bouchard (Canada) beat Galina Voskoboeva (Kazakhstan) 5-7 7-6(5) 6-4 (52-48)
Silvia Soler Espinosa (Spain) beat Misaki Doi (Japan) 1-6 6-4 6-1 (43-57)

Monica Puig (Puerto Rico) beat 5-Sara Errani (Italy) 6-3 6-2 (0-100)
Vesna Dolonc (Serbia) beat Yanina Wickmayer (Belgium) 3-6 6-2 6-4 (0-100)
Quite a high number of BOTP bagels on the opening day! Whilst Errani's was the highest-profile, I guess that it was surprising that 2 such big hitters as Lepchenko and Wickmayer would exit so early. A little disappointing that Birmingham finalist Vekic is out so early too - although 33% of BOTP folk foresaw this..
So, 32 matches scheduled, 32 matches played - and we have 3 early frontrunners in Al, linda and mojo with 25 points each. French Open champ nevets is struggling to adapt his game to grass, perhaps, so has early residency in the BOTP basement with helen40, who is a newcomer to grass court BOTP..

32-Klara Zakopalova (Czech Republic) beat Daniela Hantuchova (Slovakia) 6-4 6-3 (0-100)
Alexandra Cadantu (Romania) beat 28-Tamira Paszek (Austria) 6-2 7-5 (0-100)
A similarish day to yesterday in terms of BOTP performance. Plenty of 100%ers, but a few results that upset the BOTP applecart.
No-one foresaw the Birmingham champ Dani Hantuchova's exit. Nor that of Paszek - who was a Wimbledon quarter-finalist in 2011 and 2012!
A few maverick picks came up trumps today. davearneriise was the only person to pick Garcia's win over little Zie Zheng.. nevets was the only BOTPer to pick Karolina Pliskova's defeat of Nadia Petrova.. IconA the only BOTPer to predict Duque-Marino's win over Julia Goerges. Well done, all of you!!
Big shout out to Laura Robson in her hugely impressive win over Maria Kirilenko, who had such an excellent SW19 last year. 3 BOTPers picked Laura to win: Helen40, tabbles and alli. An inspired pick from all of you!
Plenty of movement in the BOTP table after the competion of round 1 - and another 32 points up for grabs. big al remains in pole position - but this time he shares the lead with fah51. At the other end of the table, nevets has already exited the BOTP basement with Helen40 now having tlim for company there.
I have been keeping an eye on the tennis whilst getting BOTP up and running and up to date. I have already been enjoying the tournament so far already. Hopefully the good matches will continue - and that everyone else at cc/am.com have been enjoying it too.
Hello again,
Apologies for the delay in getting updated scores here - has been a busy few days..
Here are the results of the Round 2 matches from the lower half of the draw that took place on Wednesday:
20-Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium) beat Bojana Jovanovski (Serbia) 6-4 6-4 (100-0)
25-Ekaterina Makarova (Russia) beat Garbine Muguruza Blanco (Spain) 6-2 6-7(3) 6-4 (100-0)
8-Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) beat Yaroslava Shvedova (Kazakhstan)WO (100-0)
15-Marion Bartoli (France) beat Christina Mchale (U.S.) 7-5 6-4 (95-5)
19-Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain) beat Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (Croatia) 1-6 6-3 6-3 (90-10)
29-Alize Cornet (France) beat Hsieh Su-Wei (Taiwan) 6-3 6-2 (71-19)
17-Sloane Stephens (U.S.) beat Andrea Petkovic (Germany) 7-6(2) 2-6 8-6 (62-14)
Camila Giorgi (Italy) beat 22-Sorana Cirstea (Romania) 7-6(7) 7-6(6) (5-95)
Eugenie Bouchard (Canada) beat 12-Ana Ivanovic (Serbia) 6-3 6-3 (0-100)
Eva Birnerova (Czech Republic) beat Lesia Tsurenko (Ukraine) 6-3 6-4 (0-5)
Flavia Pennetta (Italy) beat 2-Victoria Azarenka (Belarus)WO (0-100)
Karin Knapp (Italy) beat 27-Lucie Safarova (Czech Republic) 4-6 6-4 6-4 (0-90)
Michelle Larcher de Brito (Portugal) beat 3-Maria Sharapova (Russia) 6-3 6-4 (0-100)
Monica Puig (Puerto Rico) beat Silvia Soler Espinosa (Spain) 6-2 5-7 6-4 (0-0)
Petra Cetkovska (Czech Republic) beat 9-Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) 6-2 6-2 (0-100)
Vesna Dolonc (Serbia) beat 16-Jelena Jankovic (Serbia) 7-5 6-2 (0-90)
Of the 16 matches played, there were 8 matches where not one BOTPer picked the result. I think that this has to be an achievement, of sorts!! As everyone probably suspected, it was a bit of a disastrous day for BOTP.
The daily pick rate plummeted from mid-late 60s on days 1 and 2 to 39% on day 3. It was pretty much 100%ers or BOTP bagels across the board - very little middle ground.
There was one BOTP Maverick pick which was Camila Giorgi's win over Cirstea. If I recall correctly Giorgi had a pretty decent run at SW19 last year, and didn't achieve much else since. Perhaps this makes her the new Pironkova? Well done to nevets for being the only BOTPer to pick this result.
Clearly the biggest shocks were Sharapova's defeat and Azarenka's withdrawal. These 2 results had quite the levelling effect on BOTP, as EVERYONE had picked these 2 players as their semi finalists from the bottom half of the draw. I suspect that this might reduce the variables that affect the outcome of BOTP - who knows - will have to see how it pans out! The winner might even be whoever picks Serena's semi final opponent - or something like that.
It wasn't all shocks on the day that contributed to the low BOTP scoring. The fact that no-one picked either Puig or Soler Espinosa in their match wasn't that surprising - nor that only 1 person picked either Biernova or Tsurenko. I think that the popular votes went to Errani, Lepchenko to win those matches..
So - no-one correctly picked more than 7 matches out of the 16 played. Everyone in the top five scored 14 points, so remained unchanged, with the exception of LLL who slipped a couple of places. There was plenty of movement in the middle of the table - plenty of BOTP musical chairs. Those requiring parachutes included liam whose 5 picks had him drop 6 places to 12th - and viva & nevets = whose 5 and 4 correct picks saw them slip to the BOTP basement, relieving tlim of the residency.
Here's hoping for a better performance in terms of the top half of the draw!!
Hello again,
Here are the BOTP results and stats from yesterday's matches. Looks like a rain-affected day with only 13 of the scheduled 16 matches played:
1-Serena Williams (U.S.) beat Caroline Garcia (France) 6-3 6-2 (100-0)
14-Samantha Stosur (Australia) beat Olga Puchkova (Russia) 6-2 6-2 (100-0)
18-Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia) beat Maria Teresa Torro (Spain) 6-0 6-1 (100-0)
4-Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) beat Mathilde Johansson (France) 6-1 6-3 (100-0)
11-Roberta Vinci (Italy) beat Jana Cepelova (Slovakia) 6-1 4-6 9-7 (95-0)
6-Li Na (China) beat Simona Halep (Romania) 6-2 1-6 6-0 (86-14)
23-Sabine Lisicki (Germany) beat Elena Vesnina (Russia) 6-3 6-1 (71-19)
Tsvetana Pironkova (Bulgaria) beat Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (Czech Republic) 7-5 6-3 (48-0)
Marina Erakovic (New Zealand) beat 24-Peng Shuai (China) 7-6(6) 6-2 (19-81)
Madison Keys (U.S.) beat 30-Mona Barthel (Germany) 6-4 6-2 (14-38)
Kimiko Date-Krumm (Japan) beat Alexandra Cadantu (Romania) 6-4 7-5 (5-0)
32-Klara Zakopalova (Czech Republic) beat Annika Beck (Germany) 7-6(5) 6-3 (0-5)
Petra Martic (Croatia) beat Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) 7-6(7) 6-1 (0-5)
BOTP Day 04: Quick Summary!
Thankfully the top half of the draw is less of a car crash than the bottom half! Of the 13 matches played, only 2 drew BOTP bagels, this time.
No-one predicted that Klara Zak would reach the 3rd round - the main pick in her section was Dani Hantuchova. however, there was pick for her opponent, Annika Beck. It would have been a handy 2 points for DaveArneRiise, had she won.
Similarly, no-one picked Petra Martic. This was meant to be Nadia Petrova's section. I think that Nadia has to be in the running for the most infuriating player re: predictions comps! Again, there were still points riding on this match; nevets would have picked up 2 points, had Karolina Pliskova won this one.
There were however some minority picks that did come off. Kimiko Date-Krumm making round 3 was picked only by Northernlight/Super8, whereas everyone else had picked Tammy Paszek. Madison Keys beating Mona Barthel was picked only be liam, LivLuvLaf and NL/S8. Everyone else had picked Barthel/ Nigglescu/ Heather Watson.
Marina Erakovic was another surprise 3rd rounder. Whilst everyone else had picked Shuai Peng, janeinscotland, helen40, liam and iconA had all correctly picked the New Zealander to progress.
Once again, it was all again up and down the table - with the exception of big al who was now in pole position on his own - but with livluvlaf and mojoworking in close pursuit. At the other end of the table, tlim and nevets seem to be timesharing the BOTP basement, with tlim now taking his turn.
Day 05 table, plus wee report to follow shortly..
BOTP Day 05
BOTP results and table.. quick report to follow..
Round 2
Alison Riske (U.S.) beat Urszula Radwanska (Poland) 4-6 6-3 6-4 (14-76)
Laura Robson (Britain) beat Mariana Duque (Colombia) 6-4 6-1 (5-0)
Kaia Kanepi (Estonia) beat 7-Angelique Kerber (Germany) 3-6 7-6(6) 6-3 (0-90)
Round 3
15-Marion Bartoli (France) beat Camila Giorgi (Italy) 6-4 7-5 (71-5)
20-Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium) beat Vesna Dolonc (Serbia) 6-4 6-2 (24-5)
19-Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain) beat Eugenie Bouchard (Canada) 7-5 6-2 (5-0)
Flavia Pennetta (Italy) beat 29-Alize Cornet (France) 0-6 7-6(4) 6-2 (0-0)
Karin Knapp (Italy) beat Michelle Larcher de Brito (Portugal) 7-5 6-2 (0-0)
A quick roundup of the round 2 matches carried over from day 04 first..
Alison Riske's big slam breakthrough was predicted by just 3 people - well done to helen40, liam and iconA! Pretty much all of the rest of us went for U-Rad..
Laura Robson was another youngster making round 03 of SW19 for the first time. Her comfortably win over Duque Marino was predicted by just 1 BOTPer - tabbles, take a bow!! The rest of us picked either Kirilenko (85%) or Goerges (10%).
And on a pretty disastrous trio of matches for the BOTP crowd, Kaia Kanepi's defeat of Angie Kerber was picked by no-one. 90% of us had picked Angie, 10% Bethanie Matt-Sands. I wonder who is the biggest BOTP-spoiler - Kanepi or Petrova??
On to round 03..
Only 6 of the 8 scheduled round 03 matches were played. Only 1 of these went the way of majority BOTP predictions, i.e. Bartoli's comfortable win over Giorgi.
As for the rest.. well, slim pickings, really! 24% of BOTP folk picked Flipper to reach round 3. 70% had picked Lady JaJa for this one. A good 3 points for iconA, james4578, liam, manaus and tlim.
Well, Wimbledon Junior Champ Genie's wee run sadly came to an end losing to Carla S-N. Carla's win was picked by just 1 BOTPer. Well done to livluvlaf!!! As for the rest of us? Ana Ivanovic..
It was a good day for Italian tennis with Pennetta and Knapp beating Cornet and Screecher de Brito respectively. BOTP double bagels - no points riding on these at all!! Azarenka, Sharapova..
In spite of the messy BOTP stats, most people picked up at least some points - but a 20% pick rate for round 3 so far 1 correct pick out of 5 - is a shocker! Was a good day for livluvlaf whose CSN pick enabled her to supplant big al in pole position. Was a good day also for manaus, iconA and james4578, who all had a good climb up the table. There were also 4 BOTPers who drew blanks in the round 3 matches: NL/S8, linda, T01 all took big tumbles - and nevets continued his timeshare with tlim for the BOTP basement.
I suspect that BOTP might alternate between good and bad days up until quarter finals day, when it will be, um, just average, I suspect!
Hello,
Here is the BOTP table after week 01 of the Wimbledon fortnight.
Results, stats, rambling to follow some time before Monday.
Hello again
BOTP Report: Day 06
Well, today saw the completion of the remaining 11 matches of round 03, which of course included the 3 matches carried over from a rain-affected day 5.
1-Serena Williams (U.S.) beat Kimiko Date-Krumm (Japan) 6-2 6-0 (100-0)
4-Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) beat Madison Keys (U.S.) 7-5 4-6 6-3 (100-0)
8-Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) beat 25-Ekaterina Makarova (Russia) 6-3 2-6 6-3 (90-10)
Business as usual for Serena - but Aga Rad had her work cut out against rising stat Madison Keys. Kvitova kind of got out of jail with her match, as she was a break of serve down in the final set when their match was postponed for bad light the night before. Arguably Ekat Mak would have won this, had they continued playing on Friday night. But it wasn't to be.
6-Li Na (China) beat 32-Klara Zakopalova (Czech Republic) 4-6 6-0 8-6 (76-0)
11-Roberta Vinci (Italy) beat 18-Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia) 6-1 6-4 (62-38)
Klara Zak showed how she had beaten Dani Hantuchova with impressive baseline tennis, giving Li Na a real run for her money. Klara even served for the match at 6-5 in the final set. Li Na managed to fight back and break serve again to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Handy for 76% of BOTPers. Others had gone for Dani or Halep..
Straightforward win for Robbie Vinci over little Dom, in the only match where points were on both players and everyone had a stake in the outcome.
17-Sloane Stephens (U.S.) beat Petra Cetkovska (Czech Republic) 7-6(3) 0-6 6-4 (29-0)
23-Sabine Lisicki (Germany) beat 14-Samantha Stosur (Australia) 4-6 6-2 6-1 (19-62)
Tsvetana Pironkova (Bulgaria) beat Petra Martic (Croatia) 6-1 4-6 6-2 (19-0)
Laura Robson (Britain) beat Marina Erakovic (New Zealand) 1-6 7-5 6-3 (5-5)
Kaia Kanepi (Estonia) beat Alison Riske (U.S.) 6-2 6-3 (0-0)
Monica Puig (Puerto Rico) beat Eva Birnerova (Czech Republic) 4-6 6-3 6-4 (0-0)
So - 6 matches had either minority or zero picks! Sloane, Sabine, and Tsveti all had tough 3-setters, but were handy 3-pointers for those who did go against the grain. Those who picked Sloane were helen40, linda, Manaus, NL/S8, T01 and tabbles. Most of the rest had picked Caro Wozniacki.
Those who picked Sabine were big al, DN, james4578, liam. Most of the rest had picked Sam, but there was also a good 19% pick for Elena Vesnina, who won Eastbourne recently.
Tsveti is becoming quite the SW19 specialist. I bet she would like all matches to be played on grass. Those who picked her were big al, dark necrofear, liam and nevets. The rest of us went for Nadia Petrova (mainly) or Annie Pav.
Only 1 person picked Laura's gutsy win against Marina Erakovic. Well done tabbles!! One other person had picked Erakovic - that was Helen40. The rest of us had picked Maria Kiilenko.
The Kanepi & Puig matches had no points riding on them at all. Everyone had picked Errani and Kerber for those matches.
BOTP Summary
Once again, plenty of changes in the BOTP table. It was a good day for big al who stormed back to the top of the table. NL, Linda DN & tabbles al made god progress up the table. At the other end of the table, [b]tlim seems to be played pass the parcel with the BOTP basement, and promptly returned there - for now.
Hello again,
Here is the BOTP table after completion of round 4 matches.
Results, stats, wee writeup to follow.
BOTP Report: Day 7
Well, Day 7 of WImbledon - or Manic Monday, as the Wimbledon website/ Twitter seemed to describe it - saw completion of all 8 round 4 matches.
The BOTP Bakery is now Open!"
15-Marion Bartoli (France) beat Karin Knapp (Italy) 6-2 6-3 (0-0)

23-Sabine Lisicki (Germany) beat 1-Serena Williams (U.S.) 6-2 1-6 6-4 (0-100)
Kaia Kanepi (Estonia) beat Laura Robson (Britain) 7-6(6) 7-5 (0-0)
Of the 8 matches played, a staggering 4 of them were either BOTP bagels or double bagels. Eekerama!!
It goes without saying that Sabine's win over Serena has blown the doors off this BOTP. The 85% pick for the winner is now out. All BOTP-predicted winners gone. Special mention must be made of the fact that Sabine has knocked out the French Open champion in all of the last 4 Wimbledons that she has played. Quite an achievement for the youngster.
Laura's SW19 run unfortunately came to an end at the hands of Kaia Kanepi, who reaches the quarter finals for a second time. None of us picked either to do this. We'd gone for a 50:50 split between Kirilenko and Angie Kerber.
No BOTP points riding on the Flipper win over Pennetta, nor the Bartoli win over Knapp. The picks for these matches were Vika and Sharpie respectively.
BOTP points alert!!
4-Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) beat Tsvetana Pironkova (Bulgaria) 4-6 6-3 6-3 (100-0)
8-Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) beat 19-Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain) 7-6(5) 6-3 (86-0)
6-Li Na (China) beat 11-Roberta Vinci (Italy) 6-2 6-0 (67-10)
17-Sloane Stephens (U.S.) beat Monica Puig (Puerto Rico) 4-6 7-5 6-1 (14-0)
Who would have thought that Aga Rad would be the only unanimous pick to make the quarter finals? She's the highest-ranked player left in the draw too. She did have a fight on her hands today in the battle of the passive-aggressive players. Another good Wimby for Tsveti, mind.
No drama for Petra Kvitova in her routine win over CSN. She must be positively licking her lips at the prospect of playing Flipkens in the quarter final. Jeepers!!
Also a majority pick for Li Na in her routine despatch of Robbie Vinci. The only match today with points riding on both players.
Finally a minority pick of 14% in favour of Sloane Stephens to make the quarter finals at the hands of Monica Puig. It was a handy 4 points for tabbles, T01 and Northernlight/ Super8.
BOTP Summary: Day 7
The movements in the table were mainly determined by those who picked Sloane Stephens to win today. There were 3 top scorers for the day with 16 points - 4 correct picks out of 8: Northernlight/ Super8, who moved up 2 places to joint 2nd with livlulaf, 4 points adrift of big al still in pole position. tabbles moved up 5 places to joint 4th with mojo, and T01 moved up 5 places to 10th. A good day indeed for those 3!
The lowest scorers for the day were liam and nevets with 4 points. liam tumbled 6 places to 18th, and nevets reclaimed the BOTP basement from tlim.
Overall, it was a pretty disastrous day for us. Just a 33% pick rate.
Just looking at the BOTP stats, there is a distinct possibility that this BOTP comp will end long before Saturday's final. This really depends on just the one result on Ladies' quarter finals day tomorrow! I recall one US Open BOTP being a bit like this (the one won by Clijsters beating Wozniacki) - but nowhere near as bad in terms of BOTP carnage. We shall just have to see how tomorrow's matches pan out.
Hello!
BOTP Report: Day 08
Well, the Ladies' quarter finals days is now done and dusted.
Results were as follows:
4-Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) beat 6-Li Na (China) 7-6(5) 4-6 6-2 (62-33)
15-Marion Bartoli (France) beat 17-Sloane Stephens (U.S.) 6-4 7-5 (0-0)
20-Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium) beat 8-Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) 4-6 6-3 6-4 (0-0)
23-Sabine Lisicki (Germany) beat Kaia Kanepi (Estonia) 6-3 6-3 (0-0)
Only 1 match had any BOTP points riding on it - and nearly everyone had picked either Aga or SuperNa. However, the majority pick prevailed in what turned out to be a tense ending to the match. I think that the final game lasted 10+ minutes, with about 5-6 match points for Aga, 2 break points for Na.
As for the other matches *shakes head* I guess I put the mockers on Kvitova, then. Flipper's win HAS to be the upset of the day. This match was probably on Petra's racquet. She wasn't well during the match apparently.
Of course, the other 3 semi finalists were due to be Serena, Maria and Vika. How freakish that none of them made it to this stage. I wonder what the odds on that might have been?
BOTP Day 8: Summary
Well, it goes without saying that it was a good day for you if you picked Aga and not such a good day if you picked Na.
The top 3 remained unchanged, with big al (who usually backs Na Li to the hilt), LivLuvLaf and Northernlight/ Super8 all picking Aga.
There was however movement throughout the table, with Linda & cazza99 both moving up 3 places to 4th equal, and manaus also moving up 3 places to round off the top 6.
At the other end of the table, both tlim and nevets also picked Aga to win, and closed the gap on viva. nevets however still retained residency of the BOTP basement.
I got my last points today with Radwanska's win. After this, it's straight down in the lift to the basement.
Went with picks gut picks this time based on who did well at Eastbourne/Edgbaston not doing that again! Back to the rankings for guidance next time. Still it was fun. Thanks to super8 for doing it.
BOTP Report: Day 10
Well, yesterday saw completion of the semi final matches. Results and BOTP stats are as follows:
23-Sabine Lisicki (Germany) beat 4-Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) 6-4 2-6 9-7 (0-5)
15-Marion Bartoli (France) beat 20-Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium) 6-1 6-2 (0-0)
Plenty of writings about these matches, both on tennis boards and media; however I thought that this article was one of the best:
http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2013/07/04/sports/tennis/04reuters-tennis-wimbledon.html?smid=tw-NYTStraightSets&seid=auto
There was only 1 BOTPer that had any points riding on these matches. tlim had picked Aga to make the final, and had initially thought that his pick was much too maverick, in the face of Serena being an overwhelming favourite. Well, he was much closer to picking the finalist than the rest of us were!
As a result, we all drew one big BOTP blank for picking the finalists of Sabine Lisicki and Marion Bartoli, and therefore had no points at all riding on tomorrow's final.
We therefore have a BOTP winner in Big Al, who I think came so close to winning Wimby BOTP a couple of years ago. Well done Al!! It was the pick of Aga to make the semis that won it for you, this time.
In joint second were LLL and NL/S8, with linda & cazza joint fourth and manuas sixth. At the other end of the table, whilst tlim did not pick up the 6 points on offer today, he still had enough to avoid the BOTP basement, which remained with nevets who admittedly did not have great pre-tournament preparation.
It was quite a tightly packed table in the end, and a tough pick 'em, given the raft of upsets that occurred. Many thanks to everyone for taking part. I hope that you enjoyed it

A dramatic tournament, can't have been a slam so unpredictable for some time and it would have been brave or foolhardy to pick both Lisicki and Bartoli as the finalists. Well done Big Al,LLLa nd Super8 plus Linda and Cazza from here. Whilst some of us didn't do particularly well different players doing well of course created a story of it own. Once again thanks a lot Super8 for running it!
Thanks once again to Super8 for running this and congrats to the winners! There have certainly been a lot of unexpected results at Wimbledon this year!
:thanks: for doing this Super8.
Congrats Big Al,LLL and Super8 and Linda :)
:thanks: for running this Super8.
Well done to Big Al, livluvlaf and Super8.
Many thanks to you again, Manaus - had you not got the predictions form sorted, this would not have happened. Much appreciated :)
