And we're off ...
... and 'oor Andy is up against Ben Becker whom he beat just last week at Queens Club.

More to follow but there's not a lot to say except this is a good match for Andy to kick off his Wimbledon 2013 campaign ahead of some sterner tests later on in the draw ... see below for his potential route to the Final.

Just hope that if Andy gets to the semi's that the Nadal V federer is a 5 setter and Andy has a quick match
At least its only one of Fed/Nadal that he would have to face - could have had QF one of them, SF the other and Final Nole. Lets hope Fed/Nadal is a long drawn out affair.......
Soooo excited for Wimbly to start, and extra happy that Andy starts on Monday. Everything crossed for a nice straightforward first week, no Murraycoasters please!

All the best today Andy! Looks like Andy will be on centre relatively early with Fed getting through quickly in straight set (boo!) although still Sharapova's match to go, expecting that to be quick although could be wrong. Hopefully it goes on a bit as I know most are hoping for an early-evening match to watch Andy.

You can watch it on TV aswell it's on the red button, or alternatively just key in channel 301 - Channel 302 is Ward's match also if anyone is interested in that

Nadal a break down in the 3rd! You know, I didn't comment on a potential Nadal/Andy matchup as both players had to make it to the SF first but never did I consider that Nadal could go out in the 1st round. :shocked:

Yeah, although it is nice they are respecting Rafa too - The French Open champ and has returned after months out of the game with 9 finals, 7 being wins!
As you're all probably watching Andy, here's an update of the other matches you'd want to know about:
Rafa vs Darcis: Darcis has broken Rafa in the third set :shocked: (Darcis is 2 sets up!!!!!!)
Ward vs Lu: One set a piece.
I have recently found that the red button is an actual channel on my freesat samsung tv, channel 981, 982, 983 if that helps anyone.
If you have Virgin Media the Red Button is on 991, 992, 993 & 994!.....if it helps!!

I'm finding it quite ironic that Andy is playing Becker but on BBC1 Becker is commentating on the Rafa/Darcis match hehehe!

Andy made the first set more challenging that needed but still produced the goods when it mattered, Needs to keep the focus though as Becker playing some good stuff..

I've been watching on the main TV since 5pm and been engrossed by both Andy v Ben and flipping over to watch bits of Nadal v Darcis. Good to see Andy is in the driving seat although Becker is keeping him on his toes and playing some decent tactical play and fine shots but it's just not at a level to really stop Andy going through.

Had to work so pleased for Andy and sad for Rafa.
Presumably Andy did enough.... what happened to Rafa? Was he playing when he should not have been? Or....

Good solid match from Andy :).not too much energy used in the end although just enough from Becker to keep Andy on his toes. Seemed like a few levels from Andy's best, but what did what he needed to do.
Well done Andy :) One down, 6 to go........
