AndyMuzz v TommyRob
Long time no play ... and never on grass before!
:grass:
it's 6 years since Robredo beat an 18yr old Andy Murray and the young Brit bagelled the Spaniard in the Metz Final in 2007. I've always thought it was because Andy didn't want to take that ****** awful looking trophy (http://www.moselle-open.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/bande-des-gagnants.png) home with him!!!
;)
Anyway, since then Andy's clearly had the upper hand in their matches and even beat the Spanish player on clay at Madrid in 2009.
Let's hope Andy makes it 3 in a row - and books his place in the last 16.
The match is on Friday - time tbc.

Also, Robredo beat Andy in Hopman Cup, so if you include that the H2H is 2-3. Robredo is playing very well at the moment, so we can't be complacent.

Just hope Andy does not feel under even more pressure as many will expect him to walk through his half of the draw.
At least that bagel is a very good reminder of the danger of taking your foot off the gas!
C'mon Andy!

After the shocks of yesterday and the lights out tennis being played by underdogs, I doubt if many, if any will expect Andy to walk through his half of the draw. Most will have fingers firmly crossed.

The main difference is that Andy seems to be enjoying his tennis at the moment, there isn't that downbeat look on his face, he almost seems light-hearted!!

Andy doesn't take anything for granted and takes each match as it comes. He respects all players regardless of ranking.
Still its quite enjoyable not having a murraycoaster...... yet!

It's great watching Andy right not, yes he seems to be enjoying his tennis again. Remember a few years ago he admitted he wasn't?

Just hope Andy comes out firing on all cylinders. I have enjoyed his matches so far and hope that tomorrow will be no different. He does seem happier I agree and he never underestimates an opponent. Would love him to do it in straight sets....better for my nerves which do start to twitch at this time in the tournament. Two British players on Centre tomorrow. What a great ticket. Do hope that the fans are vocal in their support...still rather disappointed in the crowd on Centre. Loosen your stays and unbutton your waistcoats folks and shout for Andy and Laura!!:cheer::clap::grass::strawberry:

Rain forecast at three different periods during the day tomorrow. So glad Andy played no. 1 court in the last round on a sunny day. And frankly this is why I was not irritated in the slightest when he was as these are the days when the centre court is definitely the place to be - Nole mentioned he took a while to adjust after the roof was closed today, and Andy's experience under the roof may also come in useful.
The Very best of Luck Andy!!!:thumbup:
Good luck tomorrow Andy!!! #alwaysbelieve

How does Robredo play? Is he aggressive , defensive?
I ain't seen him play recently .
dewster99
28-06-2013, 11:23
pretty aggressive, biggish serve/forehand and inconsistent backhand. Pretty general Spanish player
Good luck this afternoon Andy! And timing means I should get home from work in time to see the start :) Robredo might be tricky, but sure Andy will come through safely. #alwaysbelieve
All the very best of luck, Andy:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I think Andy has played under the roof 5 times, winning 4 but losing the big one this time last year. But he does adapt to conditions as well as anyone on the tour
GO ANDY !!!!!!! so exciting

But he is a fighter and famously beat Andy after Andy won the first set 6-0 He was also the first person to come back 0-2 in sets in three consecutive matches at the French Open this year, so while I see no reason at the moment to disagree with you, one point at a time! :cauldron:

Robredo playing more sharply now. 2-1 to him on serve.
Now this is where the mature Andy needs to keep his focus and just concentrate on holding serve to avoid any complications.
C'mon Andy!
I love it when Andy goes in to the net.
Andy needs to stay with him now and wait for a chance as Rob will have his 2 sets down wins in his mind.
Robredo definitely not giving up, keep up the pressure Andy!

Crowd seem completely different this year, a lot more flags and red, white and blue! As Tim said it's sad that Andy had to cry for the public to change but its worth it if Andy gets the support he deserves which will help him through his matches!
Great to see Andy playing so well. Would love to have been able to see him on center court. I will try ticketmaster but don't hold out a lot of hope as I'm a bit slow.
Really good match from Andy, and great not to have a murraycoaster.

Looking forward J J could be a problem but meanwhile....whoopee
what about the song? I thought the guy who sings 'hey andy murray ...' was going to sing it to the hill? too wet?
I thought Andy looked invincible today. And he looked as if he knew it too. Total confidence. And it was funny hearing the commies drooling over him like they used to over Fed.

Yes, Andy looks like one of the top two players in the world - finally!
And yes, if we could have one more piece of help with the draw avoiding JJ would be VERY nice!
Missed this match but heard (and watched the tiny highlights on website) that he played really well! Well done ANdy!!!

Brilliant agree with everyone.. Sharp focused performance.. Robredo was playing so well in the second and third set but andy didn't allow him to gain any momentum.. How cute is the clip all that kid with the ball awww!
Exciting times!
Very belated but just wanted to say I was on centre court for this match!! Me and Gill queued from 6.30 then got straight in the re-sales queue at 10.30 and got our CC ticket in the 3rd set of Almagro / JJ match. We couldn't believe we were in for the whole of Andy's match! He played so well, it was a joy to be there. We had great seats too - definitely worth the 10 hours of queues and the rain!
