yes it is, I love it, it's the best thing about autumn  if only Brucie would retire :)
I even remembered to sky+ take2 but have been so busy with the grand-kids haven't had chance to watch either Monday's or tonight's yet
hubby asked what I had on tomorrow  oh I said up early for Andy's match (hope to find a livestream) and then an hour of Strictly take 2 :)
but we will see something is sure to come up

Remembered to watch Strictly Take 2 this evening. Got some idea of what has been going on.
Jason Donovan looks the one to beat but Anita Dobson was surprisingly good on Saturday and will probably get the viewers vote.

Dan Lobb is doing really well as is Anita, lovin Russell, K he's not much of a dancer but the enthusiasm WOW

tbh I think they vote for her because they like Anton :)
From Anton's body language (and comments), I think he would be quite glad to have been voted off!

Dan should not have been voted out. I think the public are keeping Nancy in for laughs. They can be quite cruel sometimes! But she is hopeless and it is a dancing competition. Mmm deja vu!:)
VamosVixs
19-10-2011, 12:04
Happens every year, the public don't always vote out the worst dancers at first. Look at Anne W last year for example, by far the worst dancer but people like to keep her in for a laugh.
supergran
22-10-2011, 21:53
Tonight Nancy was hopeless again, Chelsea was brilliant! I do enjoy Strictly.:)
Great show as usual but most couples not as good as last week. Chelsee was the exception - she was fantastic. I think Jason was probably right when he said that this week the tiredness has kicked in. If the fickle public keep Nancy in for laughs, Rory could well go this week.

VamosVixs
23-10-2011, 20:14
You always see it happening eg. Wagner at last year's X-Factor, Dancing on Ice also, better skaters get voted off.
I was sad to see Rory go this week  Can't believe Nancy's still there...I know it always happens but usually the worst dancer is likeable or at least entertaining, like Ann last year, she was terrible but I still enjoyed watching her :rolling: Harry's my favourite this year, I've loved McFly from the start and he's a great dancer :)
MurrayAOne
24-10-2011, 19:35
It is annoying when the best go before the more entertaining but the producers can't have it both ways. They get these people on for the entertainment factor (no pun intended) so must take the flack when they get kept on over others on a public vote because they are entertaining!!! We just have to hope that the best dancers win through but I do think that they all have an equal right to win in.

Actually I'm quite glad that it was Lulu that went and nto Audley - she has messed up every week bar last week. I think I'm just disappointed because I expected her to be really good and she wasn't! That's exactly what I thought at the start and I'm glad she's out. Didn't really like how she did her last dance (after the results) She seemed to be showing off and dancing alone whereas the others who are voted off normally keep hold of their partners until they are enveloped by the rest.

I think you've hit the nail on the head Supergran - she was showing off and I didn't like it either. I think she found it hard to come to terms with the fact that she wasn't the best of the 'older ladies'.

Am I the only one who doesn't find Russell funny? Sorry, maybe it is just me. I think it's time for him to go next.
I have found him funny until this week but found Saturday's performance a bit frenetic and, from Flavia's reaction, I think she was a little surprised that they survived. I agree it's probably time for him to go this coming Saturday.

21-11-2011, 13:35
Right time for Russell, have really enjoyed him but now it should be about the dancing
really shocked Holly was in the bottom two thought it would be Robbie or Anita
Anita had a really bad night by her standards, really didn't like the show from Wembley probably too large but good amount of money for children in need which just about makes up for it
sacrilege I know but I think Holly dances better with Brendan not that I would wish any ill to Artem
Bad night for Jason, could it have been the acoustics?
Harry doesn't do it for my maybe cos it's all about her
Alex? didn't get where the judges were coming from the dress was all wrong for a kick off and again I thought the space didn't do them any favours
Chelsee now she is the dark horse but again not her best night
I agree with all that GUB. The venue was definitely too large for the show - the dancers were dwarfed IMO - although I'm sure it was a great atmosphere.

Harry most definitely the best dancer in my book - Chelsee probably as good technically but doesn't quite have the same flair. The rankings in the Swingathon were exactly how I would rate the remaining couples. Probably Robbie or Anita to go next but it might just be Holly.

So do I. He is a brilliant dancer and seems like a lovely boy.:)
Me too - he's so serious about wanting to do it as well as he can. He listens very carefully to the judges and I'm sure takes their criticism on board - he can't do much about a sickle foot though poor boy!
Really shocked to see Harry down at fourth on the leader board - fantastic rumba for a male dancer. Robbie must go this week or there is no justice! Loved Artem's choreography for the paso but I think he forgets that Holly isn't Kara - her flamenco was out of time and the more obvious because there was no music for that section - amazed that Craig didn't pick up on it but then I think he has succumbed to the pressure of being the bad boy and decided to be Mr Nice Guy for the evening!

I can't believe it either, Harry should have been further up the board.
traveller7
04-12-2011, 18:47
Harry was severely undermarked IMO his Rumba was brilliant so hard for a girl let alone a guy!
Robbie bless him is entertaining but its the semi final next week so really technique should be vital now. He has had a tough week with the death of Speedo and you could see the emotion getting to him up with Tess but I think its Robbie to go this week.
Holly showed so much promise and that Swan Lake performance was amazing but she is lacking something I am not sure what?
In most series there has been an outright winner obvious from the start, Kara last year, Alesha, Chris Hollins, Mark Ramprakash etc but this year I cannot call it at all. I normally vote in the final but not before lol too expensive!
I think Holly is a dancer of two halves - her top half is excellent and flatters to deceive. Her timing is not great and her legwork/footwork isn't strong which is why the short dress in her quickstep (Olympia week) did her no favours. IMO it should be Jason, Chelsee and Harry in the final with Chelsee and Harry as the last two and Harry to win but that's just my opinion!

Without doubt - Alex and Holly to go next week pleeeease! I do wish Chelsee would point her toes though - she's too good not to have corrected that by now.

Chelsee got 3 tens and a 9 from Craig so shes surely pointing her toes to the satisfaction of the judges.
Personally I think Jason should be going probably along with Alex. For me he has been the least solid recently of the big 4.
I can't believe it either, Harry should have been further up the board.
Definitely he should have been marked higher but think Chelsee is the fave with the judges.

Agree that Chelsee and Harry are the best dancers and I would like to see Alex and Holly go as they are not as accomplished as the others.

Don't know what Craig has against Harry - if he could give Chelsee and Jason a 10 why not Harry? Either of his dances merited it IMO. Harry, Chelsee and Jason for the final - Harry to win!
Yes double elimination - had forgotten Jason in my count! Wanted Harry to win but must admit after tonight I think Chelsee deserves it just that little bit more and I think it would mean more to her than the others.

Chelsee was overmarked. She made a mistake in the first dance but Alesha gave her a 10, and her paso shouldn't have been a 40 (my opinion :) )
Harry should win!

I too think Aleesha over marks and this should have been picked up by the production team.
Chelsee annoys me so hope she doesn't get through to the final but I'm sure she will because she is the judges' favourite. :rolling:
I'd liked to see Harry, Jason and Holly in the final. :yahoo:
I'd like Chelsee to win, I think she's the most natural dancer. :) I like Harry but wish he could have more expression in his face when he dances, he always looks serious - his dances would be so much better to watch if he could smile in the happy dances. But his actual technique is very good.

Chelsee is a wonderful, natural dancer but how can you score a 10 if you make an error? Harry is brilliant also and Jason makes me smile...he puts everything in his dances. These are my choices for the final and I'd love Chelsee to win but if it's down to a public vote think Harry will clinch it.

I think Chelsea will edge it in the public vote. All the online polls I have seen have her miles ahead of everyone else.
I agree that she is a very natural dancer but I do think she has been constantly overmarked because she is the judges' favourite. Like Karange, I'm afraid I find her rather irritating.

Oh thank goodness, I thought I was the only one!
Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think the judges are marking with the leaderboard in mind - particularly in the latter stages of the competition. I suppose that, since they have abolished the dance-off, it's the only way they can really influence the final result. I think that's probably why Jason scored 40 for his Argentine Tango - they would have known what they would have to do to have him third and increase his chances of getting to the final. I'm pretty sure they are hoping for a Holly/Alex elimination, leaving Harry, Chelsee and Jason in the final.
I do wish they weren't going to Blackpool for the final - that's great for midway through - certainly a much better venue that Wembley IMO but I'm pretty sure the dancers would prefer to be where they are comfortable for the final.

Lizzim and Alis....why does Chelsee irritate you and does that influence what you think of her dancing? Just interested, not intent on getting into an argument.:)
I know she is young but I think she works at the 'little girl' act and it drives me nuts - at times she comes across as being absolutely stupid, which I don't think she is. I think she is a very natural dancer and has done incredibly well to combine rehearsals with the filming of Waterloo Road. There are things I think she gets away with that others might not - she rarely points her toes for example - and I think she is good enough to have put that right by now. She and Pasha work very well together as a couple and his choreography has been great for her. Personally, I think Harry is the better technician. I used to teach dance many years ago - although not ballroom - but I'm no expert just an interested amateur!

I think she is rather stupid if that doesn't sound too unkind or judgemental. She was silly enough to have a breast enlargement and have her lips enhanced before the contest, on Saturday she didn't understand what vertically challenged meant, and she has difficulty speaking in coherent sentences. But then. I think that many of our young actresses are academically below par. Having said all that. she has grace, poise and style on the dance floor. About the pointed toes...she should have corrected that by now. Agree that Harry is fantastic to watch but so is Chelsee even though every time she opens her mouth I wince.
What on earth made her have breast implants - the one thing a dancer doesn't need is big boobs. I actually find that they detract from her dancing - she looks so top-heavy!

Was very sad to see Holly and Alex go out but it was absolutely the right three that went through to the final .... I'd love to see Harry win - he has been great.
Well the three finalists are as predicted. I really hope Harry wins it. :yahoo:
I'm no balllroom dancing specialist and would agree that Chelsee is a good dancer but her 'little girl' act is overplayed and is annoying which probably does influence my opinion of her dancing. She is 23 years old.

I know what you are saying but she's not very bright is she? Though I do admire the way she runs all the Admin/office work in the large Comprehensive School that is Waterloo Road. In my experience there is usually at the very least six people plus a burser, an attendance clerk and someone who deals with supply staff!!:rolling::confused::confused:

With working in a school office myself, I watch Waterloo Road and laugh at some of the stories and often finding myself saying that would never happen in my school. :rolling:

Well, her voice annoys me (petty I know!) which doesn't help. Her dancing is good but not as great as the judges keep making out... Harry appears more technically gifted (from my limited knowledge) and yet they are fawning over Chelsee all the time.
The most irritating part was her getting a 10 whilst making a clear mistake.....if I can see it why couldn't Alesha?!
Which school do you work in Vixs?
I find her irritating too and she definitely reminds me of Mrs Shrek :shamed: - sorry to sound so harsh. She is twp (as we say in Wales - i.e. dim!) but I have to admit she can dance. I don't think the panel are looking for perfection because none of the dancers is experienced, so I think the 10 is not based on a flawless performance. I'd prefer Harry to win or even Jason but if she does win it's not undeserved.

Of course...let's hear your opinion.:rolling::rolling:
I don't think we have room for it here - enough to say I'm not her greatest fan!
I see that James and Ola have been told that they 'are not needed on the tour' this year. Seemingly, James is furious but he really only has himself to blame - his behaviour has become more and more infantile as the series has progressed. I would be surprised if they are back in the show next year - I certainly wouldn't miss James but it's a pity about Ola.

Would love Harry to win, but I think the public will vote for Chelsea.
I'm with you Vixs - Harry for the Glitterball. I'd love Aliona to win too as she was runner up last year.

I'd like Chelsee and Pasha to win but would be happy if Harry or Jason won too - all of them would be deserving winners! :) I'm looking forward to the showdances - I think Jason's in particular will be really good.

My 2 granddaughters are avid followers and both supporting Harry.I just enjoy the dances! Don't know if the girls will make in until 10 tonight though.
Looking forward to it. I'd like Harry to win too but think it'll be Chelsee and I reckon Jason's just too old to attract the votes and probably that'd be the right result anyway.

Wow they all performed so well tonight! Loved Harry's quickstep and Jason's showdance was amazing! :) It's really hard to predict who's going to be eliminated first.

I can't believe she said that! Jason was brilliant at the start of the series and he's showed again tonight how good he can be. I think Harry will win but really not sure about who will get second place, could well be Jason now.

What a fantastic Saturday night's viewing!!!
Brilliant from Harry - he really deserved to win it.
Difficult to believe he's not a pro he's that good.
I loved that he finished off one dance doing his day job (playing the drums!).
:trophy:
I felt sorry for Chelsee because that lass put her heart and soul into it tonight and she's a wonderful dancer. She might talk with a broad accent but she's not as daft as people think - she holds a good part in the soap and not only learned her steps well but acted the characters too.
Good on her, hope it takes her career on a few steps ...
:big grin:
Jason just wasn't quite at the same level tonight but he was very close. I think the youngsters just nailed everything that little bit better.
As for Merlin - that was just magic. Can't wait to see the 2nd part next week.
Dragon 1 - Morgana 0.

Well done to Harry! :) I'm a bit disappointed for Chelsee and Pasha (really hope Pasha returns next series!) as I loved their partnership and enjoyed their dances the most this series. But Harry performed so well in the final and is a very deserving winner - nice for Aliona too after reaching the final last year.
Well done Harry and Aliona - glad they won. :cheer: :santa dance::santa dance:

So pleased for Harry and Aliona - the best dancer won on the night! Chelsee's rumba was excellent but her show dance wasn't quite there tonight. Great dancing by all three finalists though - a good series in all.

Well done to Harry and Aliona, but I must admit, I am disappointed that Chelsee and Pasha did not win, I personally thought they were a slight bit better. Oh well!
Just watched the recording (The Killing got Mr P's vote last night so I had to be kept in suspense re Strictly!). For me the right person definitely won. Chelsee was amazing but I just didn't feel her dances flowed in the final. Harry has everything, poise, grace, talent and movement. I was in no doubt that Jason would be 3rd but I think that was right too. So for me it's a happy ending.
On the night I thought Jason should have made the final - Chelsee just didn't pull off her showdance IMO - but over the whole series I think it was the correct result.
well done Harry and Aliona - so pleased they won! :trophy:
I'm so happy Harry and Aliona won, he's just such a beautiful natural dancer :) Their viennese waltz is possibly my favourite strictly dance ever, I've watched it so many times :santa smile: Chelsse was great too though, I'm really glad she made it to the final 2 because there's something about the way Jason dances that I just didn't like

I hope they replace her with someone who can speak English properly and not set such a bad example on live television. She always said "You was" instead of "You were" (amongst other errors) and that's wrong.
Silly mare.
