View Full Version : Bubble Gap 2013 - Cincinnati: Deadline Sun 11th August 9.00pm UK time

I think it's better we pretend that last race was just a practice – an opportunity to dust off the cobwebs. Hopefully back to business now in Cincinatti, serious game faces on as we head to the final race before Flushing Meadows.

As always rules and leaderboard are posted here (http://www.andymurrayfanforum.com/forums/showthread.php?1630-Bubble-Gap-Championship-2013&p=116180&viewfull=1#post116180). The aim of this competition is to guess the bubble gap after Cincinnati. The current race rankings are as follows:

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/950/blzy.png
The current bubble gap is 3040. That's Andy's score(5250) – Wawrinka's score(2210) = 3040.

As you know, Montreal Masters is going on right now, red players are still playing there. The only player that can change the BG is Raonic and he would have to win the title to do that. If this happens the BG is reduced by 25. Remember that the highest/lowest ranges below are based on the current BG.

The highest possible bubble gap is 4030. That's Andy winning Cincinnati with Wawrinka losing his 1st match.
The smallest bubble gap is 2440. This involves Andy losing his 1st match with Gasquet winning the title and Wawrinka the finalist.

So in summary, your guess is between 2440 and 4030. If you don't want to do any maths then just guess a random number and see how things turn out!
Remember that you can't guess the same number as someone else and once you've posted your guess you can't change it.

Ranking points on offer at Cincinatti are:

R1: 10
R2: 45
R3: 90
QF: 180
SF: 360
F: 600
W: 1000

Good luck to all who take part and may the best driver win! :trophy:

Deadline: Sunday 11th August, 9.00pm UK time*

*I know I set this up late so I'll be a bit more flexible with the deadline. It's highly unlikely that this is the deadline anyway as Sunday has qualifier and main draw matches so the exact deadline will depend on the OOP.

Really interesting pick Linda! Haas for semies, risky pick there, although I'd love for you to be right as it would mean Fed knocked out early again! :big grin:

I have predicted a few upsets for Cinci. Not sure why, as I don't normally!

First main draw match is 4pm local time, so 9pm UK time. That gives people a bit more time to get their entries in.

The 11 drivers from Montreal make the trip to Cincinatti for the final race before the US Open. Last chance to tweak those cars before the big one. http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/images/smilies/smiley_flag.gif

Qualifying is a much more heated affair this time with Genbrit coming out on top followed by JAMES4578 who's hoping to end a 4 race pointless streak.
Yorkie and Manaus are the next to finish, followed by pabbers and Montreal winner Sallydaisy.
Montreal 2nd placer jaysee starts in 7th, hfwardhouse in 8th with cazza99 and current BG leader Elenive occupying the back of the top 10.

Shouldn't be long before the green lights, I'm predicting a much faster start from all the drivers...

The lights go green and it's a strong start from all the drivers, much better than the start in Montreal. Genbrit does well maintaining the lead but JAMES4578 and Yorkie are putting a lot of pressure and gradually catching up.

That exciting race we're wanting is looking promising so far...

:crying: :crying: :crying: I really thought Andy would win the title here - I will be bottom now

Or not. That promising start turned out to be a red herring. JAMES4578 and Yorkie try to catch up but ultimately fail as Genbrit easily stays ahead to pick up her first pole victory of the year.
