Azarenka's 'woos' are really getting on my nerves. I've turned the sound right down but I can still hear her but can't hear the ball. I might as well stop watching.

Li Na's made littler impact since she dropped her first serve from 40-15 up and even if Serena is in form she's erring far too often.

Li Na had a chance to make more of the 2nd when she was a up a break and 40-0 up even if she battled at the end. Vika's serve will need to be more of a weapon if she is to stand a chance ,think it'll be a different Serena than we seen in the Cincinatti final.

Happy to see that the screaming Williams were beaten in straights in the dubs semi. By silent Team Czech. One of TC won the mixed dubs trophy earlier Friday with Max Mirnyi - it must have given her confidence. Now TC face Team Australia in the final Saturday. Should be a good one.

Thought the Williams were strong favourites after they easily beat Erani/Vinci but maybe not their best day and fabulous performance from the czechs!

I missed the actual match coz I was at my daughter's tennis class and now I'm sad I missed it. I really hate the way the Williams try to intimidate their opponents.

It was an enjoyable final between Hlavackova /L.Hradecka and Barty/Dellacqua with the czechs bouncing back from a set and a break down to win 6-4 in the 3rd,taking theit 2nd slam title and finished at 3 am uk time. Maybe fitting as they had put Serena/Venus out and they played the better doubles game in the crucial stages. Still gutting for the Australians who have lost 3 major finals this year but sure their time can come!

Yes, it was fitting for Team Czech to take the crown but I'm slightly sad for Team Australia - three finals and no wins. But Barty is only 17 so I'm sure there'll be plenty more opps. Looking forward to the men's dubs match today way more than the women's singles final.

That has to be the best crowd response I've seen for Vika in a major.

Probably more popular in defeat here than had she won!

I guess she's the only player on the tour who can absorb Serena's power.

Pity that after the initial break in the 3rd Serena just ran away with it. She certainly upped her level and confidence but Vika couldn't sustain her challenge and serve let her down at crucial times. Still credit for her gutsy display.

Well done Vika. She'll be disappointed with her performance in the third set but at least she challenged Serena who had to work for her title. A nice change after the usual Serena demolition job in finals. :rolleyes: :unclesam:

Was disappointed in the final set. But Vika did well and she was devastated poor girl. Getting quite tired of SW winning but must say it was a terrific final to watch.:unclesam::USflag:
