Sallydaisy

more to fill in and move over later tonight but for now Fleming/Marray are down a set, 4'6, to Berlocq/Schwank but up in the 2nd set 4-1. But there's thunder and rain forecast ... and a great tweet from Piers on the BBC.

Piers Newbery ‏@piersnewbery (https://twitter.com/piersnewbery) 1m (https://twitter.com/piersnewbery/status/372756961055735808) Darkening skies as Fleming/Marray fight back, 4-6 4-1. "Is this a doubles match?" One of the weirder questions I've overheard...

Only in America ... maybe?

Nice to be able to watch Jamie in action for a change!!!
I suspect it might be because he and John are up against an American duo (including the re-emergent Brian Baker) that it's on a televised court. There aren't many Americans left in the draws on the mens side.

They're all wearing black shorts, white t-shirt and white cap so the only way to know who's who is to look out for Jamie's red shoes!!!
All on serve at the moment; J's to serve next at *2-3.

Sallydaisy
01-09-2013, 22:12
Ah, that was really really close. Jamie was serving and got to 40-15 and then the others produced some great shots to take it to deuce. A couple of forced errors and the set was gone. Perils of serving 2nd ... just a couple of points and we could have had a tie-break.

Jamie and John are playing very well as a team and could easily turn the match around.

Sallydaisy
01-09-2013, 22:41
Still going with serve although the J's had a couple of breakpoint chances in that last game. They're now serving at *3-4 in the 2nd set and, since the American pair are playing really well, will need to ensure they hold their own serve before trying any break of Baker/Ram.

david1610
01-09-2013, 22:41

Still on serve Brits 3-2 at the moment just need that break

Sallydaisy
01-09-2013, 23:33
the J's just held for 3-2 in the 3rd set.
they're serving first to tbh if they could only break once, and then hold their own, it'd probably mean they won this match. But it's very close still and the USA have their home crowd firmly behind them.

But ................... Baker/Ram currently *0-30

traveller7

Nice hold service game there but needs to break to be with a chance of winning no converted bp's at all in the match (apart from in tb)

Sallydaisy

They're getting more chances on Bakers service games but now Ram is in the driving seat and he's giving nothing away.

Sallydaisy

Ram serving to stay in the match at *5-6, the J's take it to 30-30.
USA nudge ahead 40-30 ...
Brits bring it to deuce.

The J's are 2 points from the win now but they have to do a bit more to earn and win the breaks.
Ad USA.

Somewhat muted celebration from the boys although Judy more than made up for it. :yahoo::yahoo:

Tie-break for the 2nd set, crunch time:-

*2-2
*3-2 so all with serve so far
3-3* at the change of ends

Sallydaisy

3-4* 2 holds for Peya/Soares
*4-4
*5-4
6-4* and the first minibreak to the J's!!!

great time to break the serve of the no 2 seeds and take the 2nd set.
