The Race to London 2013 ...

These are the current top 16 players who have a chance to make it - although it'd require a considerable run of form from those in the 11-16 places. If the header image on the ATP website is to be taken as 'qualified' then the ones already in are Nole, Rafa and Andy.

Note that Wowrinka is only 10 points behind Federer ...

I've left in the number of tournaments played this year. Tsonga might not make it since he seems to be out with long term injury. Gasquet is only 1 spot away from being in the 'top 8' and if he notched up some good wins over the next 3 weeks could, with Wawrinka, displace Federer.

I'm not sure if this has been amended or not so I'm adding it in since the ATP is still showing it:-

Note: Below are the latest calendar-year Emirates ATP Race to London standings.
The standings include all US Open results except the final.
The winner of the final will add 800 points to his total.
The Top 8 players at the end of the regular season will qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
The 52-week Emirates ATP Rankings (commonly known as the 'world rankings') are available here (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Rankings/Singles.aspx)

I really hope he can win it this year then he'll be undefeated in London in 2013 (Queens and Wimbers already!).

Wouldn't that be cool! Needs Rafas form to take a nose dive though I feel!

I don't think Rafa's best surface is indoors, although he played incredibly well at the World Tour Finals in 2010. Do you remember the semi-final with Andy on the Saturday afternoon. I was at the final on the Sunday and RF won in the third set when Rafa had run out of gas.

I was there for that semi final and remember it being one of the best matches I had watched. Both players played great. Andy could have won but I remember that his form had been relatively poor before the world tour finals. Putting all this together I wasn't as upset as I could have been as he played so amazingly! I just had the overwhelming feeling of pride :)

I was there for that match too. Rafa looked completely knackered and I thought that Andy was going to win, but somehow Rafa did. It was a fantastic match. Afterwards, Andy said "Matches like this are the reason I play tennis".
