View Full Version : Welcome Back
So, we're back! Please change your password as soon as you can - hackers have been here and, although it's unlikely they've managed to crack the password database, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Also, if you use the same password on any other sites, change it there too.
Hopefully everything is working, but let us know if anything is broken. There will be a short period of a few days where the forum will appear and disappear again - this is normal while the DNS servers around the world sync up, so don't worry too much if things are a little glitchy early on.
We are very sorry but for anyone who joined after October 2013, please could you reregister. Please use the same user name you had before.
edit: If you change your password you will get an email and will have to verify it before you can post.

For those like me who re-register, the first few posts are subject to moderators review before they automatically appear so here is another post (for no other reason)

:phew:
Welcome back everyone - we've had a bit of a nightmare, but we'll try and get everything as back-to-normal as possible as soon as we can.
Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, the only usable backup we had was from September 2013, so we've had to go back to there. Apologies to everyone for the loss of data, but I'm afraid there was nothing we could do
As Cazza said, anyone who registered after that will need to do so again, and it would be a great help if you use the same username so we all know who you are ;)
Welcome back !!

I have reregistered. Hello. Well done to Kyle, Jamie, Dominic and James, not forgetting Leon and their cheerleader Mr M junior.
Thanks to Mods and everyone else involved in getting us up and running again.

Didnt realize how addicted to the forum I was until it wasnt there :shamed:
I second that ljs - I had withdrawal symptoms during the Davis Cup last weekend. It's so good to have everyone back.

No true, just grateful to have it back. A bit sad to lose all the posts relating to Ghent though, plus Wimbledon this year:-(
Thanks though to everyone who has worked so hard to get it back.
I hasn't got my iPad with me in Serbia and phone a little small so I wasn't using the forum while I was there. What a nightmare and such a shame about the 'lost years'.
I can't work out how to change my password ... :shamed:
I didn't realise how addicted I am to the forum either! And over a D.C. weekend too. Well done and huge thanks to those who have worked hard to get us back up and running.
I had to try and remember my password from 2 years ago to get in!!!! Got it 5th time. As an admin we have to change them regularly.
Thank you for your hard work and for getting the forum back up and running.. Looking forward now to catching up with all the news from Serbia.
Would someone please explain to me, in words of one syllable, how I change my password? Thanks so much - so good to be back!

Click on 'Settings' top right, then in the side menu, half way down or so, you should see 'Edit Email & Password'
Go to "settings " at top right of page. Then when you are in settings, on the left hand side choose "edit e-mail or password "
I would like to endorse all that has already been said about the hard work of those involved in getting us up and running again. VERY much appreciated. I so missed you all. I'm so glad to read that there are others like me who found life without the forum rather dull and lonesome! I was totally lost! It has become such a part of my life! :thanks:

FYI we've had a few people saying they're unable to re-register - this may be because they were already members before Spetember 2013. You only need to re-register if you joined the forum after that.
However, if you have been with the forum longer, but change your password from time to time, your password will have been reset to what it was in 2013. If this happens, and you can't remember what your password was then, click on 'forgot password' and you should get a reset email shortly.
If you know of anyone struggling to log in, please pass this message on :)
Edit: hoping 'guests' can see this post or it's largely pointless ;)
Well, i've now got an avatar - didn't have one before :D

Hows that?
It's back to the future. :superman: I've a good feeling about Andy winning Wimbledon in 2016, after 4 years with Lendl it's got to happen again. :p ;)
Hows that?
How did I do it?
Go to "paint"
Open paint

I'm back too. I've missed the AMFF. Many thanks from me too for all the technical work which must have gone in to sorting everything out. What a shame that so much has been lost. I'm a bit of a newbie (here for a year approximately I think) but one day looked at the Wimbledon 2013 final posts as Andy was winning and had just won. It made fun and interesting reading. (Isn't it good that we now have to distinguish 2013 or 2016!) ps i'm a swingballer again :crying:

Ok, so do everything Glenys said, on a computer, up to the last step, then email the pic to yourself. You should then be able to download it on your tablet and do the final step :)
Thanks to the mods for getting the forum back up and running. Really missed it on Davis cup weekend but glad to have it back in time to start planning for the semis! Plus lots of exciting new tennis to share before that too!

We don't know yet, but we're working on it. It was originally set to 15 seconds but Dave changed it to 25 to see if that helped the double-posting issue, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. We'll have a play with the settings tomorrow.
At the moment editing posts doesn't seem to work properly. If you wish to edit a post and the disc is spinning, try refreshing the page and the edit may have worked.
Hard to believe all my fun, witty and effervescent posts had disappeared :(

Great to be back though obviously some "teething problems" which will be sorted given time. Like others have said I didn't realise how much I had come to rely on the forum, even if I didn't post all the time, until it was not there. Thanks to all who have been working to sort the mess caused by the hackers. I wonder what satisfaction they got from doing it?
I'm back!!!!! Thanks to all the mods for your hard work.

Thank you all so much for getting the forum back up and running again. As others have said, it's been odd to not have it there particularly over such a big tennis weekend. Wasn't it fantastic! :yahoo:
Great to be back, it was weird not to share my frustrations at Bouncy and Lloydy with anyone.
Thanks to all who have been working to sort the mess caused by the hackers. I wonder what satisfaction they got from doing it?
They were only in it for the money (the hackers I mean)
My account still active but obviously its in the "all posts must be moderated" period.
Also need a username change from Charnondall to Charn if possible!

Bear with us please.
When i do change your name you must remember to continue using the password you currently have.
Oh it's sooooooooooooooo good to be back here again!
Like others I didn't realise how much time I wasted (oops, sorry, invested) here!!!!!!!
Huge thanks to everyone involved in resurrecting the forum.
:thanks:
devastated that the 'newspaper and internet' reports have lost 3 years, it was my scrapbook.
at least i can now re-read all the 2013 reports of the first Wimbledon win, which was rather more dramatic than the recent triumph.
did the forum have to pay ransom money?
Not sure if I have to re-register as I can't remember the date I joined and can't access My Profile. Was able to change my password though.
A BIG THANK YOU TO Fiona & Davech and anybody else involved in getting the forum back up running, your STARS!!! It just goes to show how much we all rely on this great forum...its the best! Couple of hiccups but we can all deal with that....WELL DONE EVERYBODY!!!...APPRECIATED!!!:thumbup:

You joined a few months before the backup date so you are fine.
Thanks for getting it all up and running again, I really missed the forum. I have re registered and have changed my username from Vhughes to Nessie!! It was a brilliant weekend for tennis and Dan is doing really well in Washington this week. Lots to chat about!

Thanks guys all re-registered and back now looking forward to the chat again....
Yippee, we're back  Thanks for the hard work. Have re-registered and changed password.....
Just a reminder that if the forum ever goes down for any reason we do have a facebook page where updates can be posted.
To find it just go onto Facebook and search on "Andy Murray Fan Forum".

I felt very lost being in the US and no forum to keep me up todate- Twitter is good but missed all the chat on here.
I was away at DC while the forum was down so didn't have a lot of time anyway to come on even if we hadn't been "broken". If I had been home following on TV I would have missed it dreadfully. Thank you Dave and Fiona and anyone else involved in getting us back up and running.
