Not sure where to put this, but it's about TV so this will do.
I have been watching non Sky tennis matches through Bet365.com live streaming for ages, but the screen size is really too small to view comfortably. Now I have just got one of those Amazon Fire Stick things, and have discovered I can view the matches full size on my TV via my tablet. Might be useful for folks without Sky, or to watch the matches Sky don't screen.
:thanks: for the information Teresa. I thought this deserved its own thread in the tennis area of the forum. It may be useful for people to compare notes with other devices too.
I have found that now I have an HD laptop I can view much larger picture on my TV when connecting my laptop via the HD cable. When I used the VGA lead it was much smaller.
I'd be really interested in knowing if there any alernatives to the amazon fire stick which have ethernet as I prefer to use ethernet rather than wifi. Does anyone know of anything?
I've read the BBC will be terminating their contract with Formula One a lot earlier than expected. It's now going to be shown on ITV. Why can't ITV say "we've agreed to show the Australian open finals instead of the BBC". Why would they want to show a bunch of fat cats (as my dad calls them) driving around aircuit for two or three hours, instead of showing the tennis?
Coverage of the French Open by ITV has been superb, so I do hope ITV consider it for the future. Mind you Eurosport has exclusive rights so it would also be up to Eurosport to allow them. Maybe we should all write to ITV to ask them.

As a huge F1 fan I am going to have to disagree with you there.;)
It's been confirmed, by the BBC, next year's F1 will be the last one. It'll then be shown on Channel 4 from 2017. Don't understand why no other channel, apart from the two obvious ones, want to show the Aussie open.
Eurosport Player is very reasonable so you don't have to sign up for Sky who only show the US Open of the 4 Slams.
I'm going a bit off topic but yes the BBC have lost the F1 rights to Channel 4 from next year (Not from 2017) but it doesn't really affect me as I have Sky Sports F1.
Back to the tennis, I do think it would have been better if ITV or another FTA broadcaster had at least taken the finals of the Aussie Open but I think the timezones puts pretty much all other broadcasters off trying to really get any of the coverage. Plus Eurosport do a great job in covering the Aussie Open and you can get Eurosport Player for just £5 for the month where you can watch absolutely everything.
Also most sports do tend to be heading towards pay tv now so I think we will be fairly lucky if anything more than Wimbledon (in terms of tennis) stays on FTA in the next few years. The only other properly protected events, at least at the moment are the World Cup and the Euro's plus some of the Olympics coverage.

I've sent Channel 4 an email asking them if they would ever consider showing the Aussie Open, as they took the horse racing and F1 away from the BBC. Channel
4's reply is 'we'll contact, hopefully, contact you within the next 24 hours'. I never did receive a reply to my complaint, which I sent to the BBC.
Unlike the BBC, Channel 4 could be bothered to answer my query. They thanked me for my question and told me they don't have plans, at the moment, to show the Aussie Open but have forward it to the people behind their programming.
I used to subscribe to Eurosport player all year, its only about 4 pounds a month and you get multi court coverage and good commentary. I think you can take it out for one month . Better than the BBC coverage IMO . I also have Sky and Tennistv , so can
watch tennis(and golf) pretty much every day of the season.
Can Eurosport Player be watched on a smart TV? It's now £4.99 a month if you take it for the whole year.

I have a smart TV but it cant watch it directly . I can only watch Eurosport or tennistv by screen mirroring from my tablet or phone .
Sounds like Eurosport Player might be expensive to take for just one month ...I can get it as part of my TV package but only in standard definition.
I really like the sound of just being able to pay for tennis coverage. I have had sky sports for years but I only have it for the months when they have masters and GS coverage, so it goes off in December and back on in time for Indian Wells. I get Eurosport on sky anyway. The grand slams are obviously the most important and the ones I want to watch followed by the masters so tennis TV doesn't really suit me.
I honestly don't have time to watch every tournament anyway and even the masters I often don't get to watch the whole thing, just concentrate on Andy when that happens. I would be divorced if I watched wall to wall tennis all year! I get Eurosport on sky so that's the Aus Open covered.
Sounds like me!
and me
If you are so concerned then watch this and do something about it.

I have Tennistv and Eurosport subscriptions so miss very little and as there is only me now can watch as much as I like!!!!

Shouldn't the protest be to MPs.
I think it's absolutely absurd in this day and age that everyone with a telly is forced to pay towards a service that many don't use. Yes, there is some high quality content as highlighted in the short video above, but most of the good stuff was made years ago, and there is more and more dross shown every year. The sooner the BBC has to raise its own funding the better as far as I'm concerned.
so adverts on the beeb? i shall have to record everything and wizz thru the ads
If you are so concerned then watch this and do something about it.
https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/campaigns/bbc-share-the-video
state broadcasters can do one as far as I am concerned sooner it dies the better
My Aussie cousin doesn't understand why we still have to pay for a TV licence, as they got rid of it years ago. I know the BBC would like to have subscriptions, but I would prefer adverts. Firstly, nobody would have to pay the BBC (so they could waste the money on anything they like) and secondly, the adverts might bring in more revenue for them. I usually just turn the sound off or go off and do something else, quickly, during the adverts.
The BBC is far from perfect, but you only have to watch the dross TV shown in other countries to realise how good we've got it with the BBC. I don't understand the level of resentment over the licence fee - 96% of payers use the beeb at least once a week, and the fee works out at less than 40p a day or £3 a week so it's hardly what you call extortionate compared to other media outlets (although I disagree strongly with the huge salaries given to some of the biggest "stars"). The BBC does generate income through exports, and that's enough as far as I'm concerned and I couldn't stand the thought of adverts, and would hate them most during Wimbledon fortnight - breaking up the matches from SW19 with adverts is unthinkable to me.
I endorse everything RB says above. There's some wonderful non dross on the Beeb too.......maybe not of our own making but stuff that other channels wouldn't air because they wouldn't get enough viewers to justify their charges to the advertising revenue payers e.g. all the Scandinavian stuff which has IMHO been fantastic. Never thought Mr P would be bothered to read subtitles........but he did and was gripped by Borgen, The Killings and The Bridge to name but a few. There've been Italian, French and Belgium quality dramas on too. None of them would get space on the commercial channels
Therein lies the problem, everyone has to pay towards programmes that relatively few watch. Any resentment I have regarding the licence fee is the fact that it is mandatory even if you never watch any BBC channels. If something similar happened in any other industry the competitions commission would be all over them like a rash.
Have to agree with RB and Pabbers- I'd hate the BBC to end up like other broadcasters and they are far superior to what I've seen in other countries. They do a good job and I'm happy to pay my licence fee for them to continue.

is extortion if.the same level of service.isn't.provided to all customers, why should I pay to prob up a state broadcaster that.docent.service.my needs.and infact disadvantages certain parts of the country

Sorry one last comment as I started this (very sorry). Just to agree with every word by Rosiebear & Pabbers. We pay to watch the ITV too through adverts which cost millions and increase the cost of the goods sold. And we certainly pay more to watch Sky, with very little worth watching apart from the tennis.
The BBC is admired world wide - and we only need to see the joys of US TV to see what purely commercial broadcasting brings.
And I would LOATHE to sit through adverts during Wimbledon - and that's not something I would often be wanting to record and play back, but rather watch live when possible.
Not long to go now to the AO, so need help :help:, I would, of course, like to watch and record ALL Andy's matches and a few others on the TV, how can I do this, I have Sky but not sports but to get the sport I need to have it for a month (really annoyed that I didn't get it for January with all the tennis being played). Can someone please tell me what my options are because I would like to be all ready for the start :thanks:
Happy New Year Jackie! If you have a smart TV why not take out Eurosport player for a month.
Same to you Carole, hope you had a good one!! I don't think I have a smart TV, I know that I am being thick...but how would I know

Or do what i did and get eurosport player on your tablet! £4-99 for a month ;)
Only thing with that though is you cant record. But i think you can watch higjlights on it

I like the cost of that!! but would prefer to watch it on TV and record it just in case I am in bed, asleep....not likely if Andy is playing or at work. How much is it to get Eurosport on the TV, do you have to have it for a month or can you get it weekly ?

Not sure on that 1. Doubt u could get it for a week though. We used to have it through sky sports subscription but hubby cancelled it when he got some sort of android box thingy that gives u hundreds of streams to choose from..saving ourselves about 60 quid a month now.
The Sky Variety pack - http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/variety-bundle/#!Sports-3 is the easiest way to get Eurosport on your TV
I have the standard entertainment package on Sky and only recently realised that Eurosport channels were included. You may already have it on your normal subscription and can check easily if you go to the sports section on your TV guide and try to view the Eurosport channels.

But surely the BBC advertises all the time! Admittedly it's their own programmes they are advertising, but to me that is still advertising and can be as irritating as the ads on the other channels. They even do it now during the end changes in tennis! :getcoat:
worse culprits are bbc news, always interviewing actors about upcoming BBC shows
True of BBC Breakfast, especially in the last half hour
Personally, I don't mind the BBC promoting their upcoming programmes. Certainly nowhere near as annoying as having betting shops advertised every break when watching tennis on the loathsome Sky (I still can't work out how it's legal to advertise them pre-watershed given the age laws around betting).
point is no one is forced to pay for sky, where as we are all forced to pay for the "loathsome" BBC
It annoys me though when the BBC still promote their upcoming programmes even when they have overrun, so programmes often start late. I don't have sky, so no experience of the betting shop ads.
point is no one is forced to pay for sky, where as we are all forced to pay for the "loathsome" BBC
Do you watch some, listen and read some stuff on BBC that you're not forced to (Wimbledon?) However little it might be, I'm pretty sure your usage still works out far cheaper per hr than Sky.
nope still not getting the point I don't want to pay.for the BBC if I had the opportunity I wouldn't
I get your point - guess I'm just saying that if I was claiming the BBC was completely imposed on me I would refrain from using any services as a matter of principle. But always happy to agree to disagree on this or anything else.
I am not talking about advertising programmes, it is all the rubbish trying to get people to part with their money. some people are very gullible.
BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-35434765) - Illegal football streams are 'dangerous', study says
Guess this applies to tennis too.

I have NEVER trusted these streams and was always wary of using them. Would rather pay fir Eurosport / sky and be fine with it tbh.
Me too. I would be worried as to what else I would be downloading.
I will be watching on Tennis TV! They show it all. My daughter bought me a sub for a year!
Can you tell me what the difference is between getting the tennis on Sky, Eurosport and Tennis TV, l am thinking of ordering the tennis for Indian Wells and Miami with Sky later tonight
Tennis TV sometimes shows the same tournaments as Sky (such as the masters) or Eurosport but also covers more of the smaller ones. Tennis TV does not cover the grand slams.
just signed up for a months tennis tv, that will cover both Indian Wells and Miami  £15 for the month much cheaper and easier to cancel than Sky

Thanks, out of curiosity l may look into the cost of Tennis TV for Indian Wells, l know that if l order with Sky it will be £25 for the month

How did you sign up, online ?
I got my sky sports from virgin for £20 a month and always really easy to cancel. I cold go for tennis tv but prefer viewing on tv. Actually did OK as guy on phone decided he wanted to review my package- now getting a new TiVo box and upgraded broadband equipment- but my bill is coming down!

My answer to Grand Slams: Aussie Open: Eurosport Player (6.99 for a month). French Open: ITV4 (free). Wimby: The Beeb (free). US Open: Sky Sports via NowTV (for a month for about £10, cheaper than 2x1weeks).
Tennis TV will be streaming more doubles this year.

I have a deal with Sky for my broadband and line rental which starting in August, when l phoned them before about having a deal for Sky sports they said that because l already had a deal for the broadband then l couldn't get one for the Sky Sports and to try again in August when my other deal finishes. So when l received the deal in the post l nearly didn't bother ringing them, but thought just give it a try and part of me was surprised when they said l could have the deal, l said about the broadband deal and they said it had nothing to do with the TV deal, strange
Just checked voucher codes and it is indeed there. It's disgusting that this is not available when you search on sky as an existing customers. I could have saved myself nearly £100!
Perhaps you can ring them again and say you have just seen about the voucher codes and you are not happy, you never know they may do something, you have nothing to lose !
We get a reduction for 6 months every 6 months just by ringing up and saying we can't afford the full price. If the first person won't help then say goodbye and ring later and speak to someone else.
Yes, I have a friend who gets Sky TV for about half the advertised price because she always says she won't pay any more. I don't suppose it would work for me, but it does for her. Some people have the art of getting round people (she is a successful telesales person) but I don't.
I spoke to my next door neighbour, today, and he told me he can get Sky Sports for £2.50 per month. He told me he and his wife have been with Sky for 17 years and every year, he used to play the "I'm an OAP" card to them and get it reduced. He still plays the same card with them, but now also plays "I'm a loyal customer" card, as he believes Sky are scared he and his wife will leave them.
I ring them (Sky) up and tell them that I am simply not going to pay anymore. Last time I was in a grump, and was quite prepared to cancel the whole lot. I have got some form of deal that retains Sky Sports.
It might be worth holding off any changes until June, when there is a new Sports Chanel coming online with Sky that will be included in the basic package and should include the tennis. I don't know the details, but keep a look out.
I might have a go at that - will have to wait until there is not much I want to watch on Sky Sports for a while in case it does not work!!!
With another price increase due shortly,I've recently moved to a different package that includes Sky Sports but is cheaper (original with Sports rather than family-do lose some channels but not an awful lot I would miss),also managed to get a 15% reduction for 9 months. Doubt that much tennis would be included in the new Sports channel Sky Sports Mix (http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/10209425/sky-to-launch-brand-new-sports-channel-sky-sports-mix)

That's what I have done. I have lost the documentaries, which I don't really watch. My main problem with Sky is I have their Broadband, which meets my essential criteria ie that it works consistently. I am loathe to move to a less reliable provider.
I have tried the "loyal customer" line many times and got absolutely nowhere. I have also threatened to leave sky and did get a slight discount but it didn't last long. I'm obviously like you Linda, can't get anything for nothing ... and when I switched sky sports on recently for IW I missed the existing customer offer by 1 or 2 days! Story of my life!

Check out what the likes of BT are offering and then quote that back at them. The trick sometimes is to point out that you can get what Sky are offering cheaper elsewhere. Also if you have never had any offers point that out to them. Their records will confirm that. Also if at first you don't succeed try another time and another person.

I have looked at the original package but it doesn't include Eurosport or HD (except for the free to air channels). Mind you, you now have to pay even more to have sky sports in HD. It is becoming ridiculously expensive!
If I didn't rely so much on our sky+ box I would find another provider but cable not an option as we don't have it in our village. I will look at others for price comparison though Teresa and see if I can use it as bargaining power.
ITV4 do cover the French, will need to see next year for the Australian mind you-obviously some drawbacks though. Don't have cable in my area either so Sky have a bit of a monopoly, as far as I'm aware you can get only get Sky Sports 1 and 2 via BT.

Hey Caro, I'm with you on this one - never had any joy with Sky. Getting Sky Sports the "traditional" way (i.e. having to have all the other channels in order to get Sports as well is ridiculously expensive. I've stopped doing that and now pay £31.50 a month for just Sports via the Now TV app on my tablet which I cast to my TV (using Chromecast). It works well, but needs decent internet connection.
I only switched sky sports on just before Indian Wells and after advice re: TennisTV, I decided to cancel sky sports and get that instead.
You only have to have sky sports for a month and can then cancel but you have to give 30 days notice. Ok I think to myself, I'll cancel now and it will switch off end of April just in time for me to get TennisTV for May at £14.99 for the month ... MUCH cheaper than sky at £25.50! So I hit the cancel button ..... Low and behold it offers me sky sports for £12.75 a months (half price) for 6 months - result! At last.
I will cancel after all the clay masters and I'll only have sky sports back if I can get it half price in the future, otherwise I will go for the TennisTV monthly for the months I want it. U.S. Open will have to be sky though as Eurosport don't have all the matches.
RB .... or anyone else that knows ... Can you explain chrome cast to me? What exactly is it and how does it work? TennisTV website says you can stream to TV this way but I haven't a clue! :shamed::shamed:
https://www.google.co.uk/chromecast/tv/ (https://www.google.co.uk/chromecast/tv/)
I didn't have a clue either, got my bro to set it up for me, but apparently it is really easy. Chromecast is a little device that you stick in the back of your TV that allows to cast whatever you're watching your tablet or phone on to the television http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/digital-and-smart-tv/smart-tv/google-chromecast-10137566-pdt.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwlfO3BRDR4Pj_u-iO2U0SJAD88y1SUsqhEPhutyJXtMpTo71g-qkzv2vb8rFaEbHUjA0-6hoChyPw_wcB&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~1025+%28DTP%29+Chromecast~Chromecast+ %28P%29~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&s_kwcid=AL!3391!3!93366291139!p!!g!!chromecast&ef_id=Vs9D@wAABTRSoE7V:20160331182044:s
Thanks both. Will investigate
Chrome cast is like the Fire TV stick. Works in the same way, but not linked to Amazon.
In case anyone missed the news Sky Sports have relinquished the broadcasting rights to the US Open (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jul/07/sky-sports-us-open-tennis-premier-league-formula-one-open-golf) and it will be shown on Eurosport as from this year. Great, more Simon Reed.
Thanks for the heads up. I was about to buy a sub for a couple of weeks to watch Sky Sports via Now TV. So it will be Eurosport Player instead. I'll risk Reed rather than not be able to watch any matches at all!
Indeed heard Sky had relinquished the rights and will need to make with do with Eurosport, pretty sure that Eurosport is not available via Sky Go.
I have Sky Go and both Eurosport 1 & 2 are on it.
Oh no!! Stupid sky. Eurosports coverage is crap and they already do so many others. Can't believe I pay so much to sky a month and the tennis is just on less and less! Boo!! I'm no longer looking forward to the US open as much as I was :(
Eurosport only usually cover the first few rounds. Hope this changes. Also no red button.
Also means that once I purchase a smart TV and get fibre broadband it will be cheaper to watch tennis on Tennis TV.

Just checked - it seems to work.
Only online though (other courts) . I prefer to watch ok red button as my iPad is tiny and I don't have a smart tv. Also I prefer the sky presenting and commentating line up. Well boo. Time to buy a smart to and subscribe to tennis tv Eurosport is shocking. Terrible presenting coverage and commentary.
They have petch for this one? Well that makes things a lot brighter :)

Oh blast, what a pain l have Sky Sports for the tennis thinking l was covered for the US Open, can l order Eurosport just for US Open ? Does anyone know why Sky are not showing the Open
I have recently taken an offer of cheap Sy Sports for a few months thinking I needed it for the US Open. At least I have an HD laptop which I can connect up to my TV. Internet is not superfast here though.

Eurosport is part of a more general Sky package and it does not usually cost much more to have it and one can always take it out for one month only. To subscribe to Eurosport on-line for one month is very cheap.
Tennis TV is great, but bear in mind it doesn't cover the slams. I used Eurosport Player for the Aussie Open...plenty of match choices. Overall, after a few teething problems, it wasn't too bad.

Only just seen this as I looked up Tennis on Sky TV and saw there is nothing between Cincinnati and Japan. According to Sky it is due to spiralling costs of showing the Premier League.

Unfortunately Eurosport no longer available on TV they are having technical problems but still on PCs, tablets, mobile phones etc.!!!!
When you use Eurosport player is that on a tablet not the TV, can you only watch a match live, you can't record ?
Sorry Jackie. Only seeing this now...Most of your questions now been answered. If I remember rightly, I think there is a chance to play back some matches that you may have missed. Hope I'm not confusing this with Tennis TV!

Also means that once I purchase a smart TV and get fibre broadband it will be cheaper to watch tennis on Tennis TV.

I do tennis tv per month as and when I need it - which for me works out slightly cheaper than doing a year. For example have just paid for a month to cover Cincinnati which is first time since Rome/MC/Madrid. Sometimes you get more than one tournament in the month others not. It doesn't do slams - for that I use Eurosport monthly for Oz, ITV4 does French. US has always been an issue but now pleased to see that Eurosport are covering it. I refuse to pay the very high prices of Sky. I don't tend to watch tournaments if Andy isn't in them simply to give me a break to do something else. Tennis TV does excellent catchup - everything on there and you can easily log on without seeing the score. Even has very old matches.

How much do you pay for Tennis TV for the month ? Do you watch it on a tablet or on the TV ?
I did a survey earlier today in which it was suggested that Sky might drop Eurosport 1 and 2 from their existing Sports package and bundle them along with BT Sports in a new package (at an additional cost of course - I think it was about £27). Would I be prepared to pay for that? My response was a resounding "No". I can't remember if Sky cover the Aussie Open or whether Eurosport do. If the latter, I think I'll drop Sky Sports when my current deal runs out next month and take up Eurosport player instead.
Eurosport is not in Sky's Sky Sports package - it is in one of the general family packages.

Yes Eurosport is currently available as part of the Variety package, you don't need to add Sky Sports to receive it. However it is not included in The Original package which is the most basic service. Eurosport also cover the Australian,Sky Sports no longer broadcasting any of the slams but continue to have the TV rights for all the Masters events.

I pay£14.99. I watch on laptop or PC. I have never linked my laptop to the TV as it's an old TV and I'm not technical but that could be a possibility for you. It's not ideal watching on laptop but as the matches are often at odd times, I can move it around as convenient.

According to the Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jul/07/sky-sports-us-open-tennis-premier-league-formula-one-open-golf)report:
Sky says it remains committed to tennis with rights such as the ATP world tour, which culminates each year with finals at London’s O2 venue.
Can't speak highly enough of this product.

All sports and movie channels in full HD free of charge. Loads of on demand TV and latest movies. Great back up support. I have the firestick which they brought out initially but they now have a box at a one off cost of £150 which works even better.
I've given Rupert Murdoch quite enough over the years and the way they fleece existing customers to line the pockets of Bentley driving Prima Donna footballers justifies me going down this route.
I'll point out the grey area of the legality of devices that do what the ooberstick does.

yes, there is catch up as far as I can remember. There is also the possibility of going back about 2 hours I think so that say you turn on at 10am and the match started at 8am, you could go backwards to earlier time (not so relevant for US timings though). I use it for the Oz Open and all fine.
(Just checked this morning. Seems like they have videos of prior matches/programmes and also a rerun of programmes the day after before the live action starts.)

It seemed to affect people differently too. Mine came back on after a relatively short break, stayed on a while then went off again, then back on again. My Mum's stayed off completely for a few hours then was ok. Generally I am pleased with it and it is good value but they need to beef up the servers if they are struggling for capacity.

I know that the Davis cup will be on Eurosport but sky have Japan, Shanghai 1000, Paris 1000, Vienna, Basel and the world tour finals (though I think the Beeb will get some of those). They are also showing the Murray charity one.
There is no mention of the events in Beijing or Shenzhen which could mean that Eurosports are getting them or they could be waiting to see who enters. They have shown them in the past but usual show more of Beijing or Japan depending who goes. Often following Murray as they've down when decided between Basel and Valencia in the past

Thanks JerryD, I will just hold on to Sky for a while then and see what happens.
Judging by the adverts on sky, though I was afraid that they would be easing of tennis coverage in general (and I took dropping the us open as a sign of this), it seems they are actually just heading in a different direction. Making themselves the place for the ATP events and allowing Eurosport (et al) to take the itf ones (majors and Davis cup). I know people who have the player but then turn it off during the down months in October - December this year I guess then sign up again for the Aussie
Sky often cover some of the 500 tournaments. Maybe email Sky and ask them what they are covering.

I would really want that as lots of matches I on during the day whe I can't watch and I really don't want to have to sit in the office watching on the computer!
Caro - you can watch tennis tv on your iPad by downloading the app then joining as an in app purchase. Alternatively if you have set up you subscription using your desktop or laptop you can add the app and then join it to your current subscription so you don't pay twice. This is also true of iPhones. I think it just says that because it doesn't work on blackberry or on many windows phones. But is also available from google play if using a Samsung phone or device X

Caro - tennis tv was the first app I got on ipad more than 3 years ago! It has improved since then but you can only watch matches live or match highlights on ipad as the full match replays are only available on laptop but I think it is worth the money. You can watch on both devices at the same time which I sometimes do as the multi screen option is a bit too small on the ipad.
Latest info from tennistv "From January 2017, all matches streamed live will be available indefinitely - not just for 7 days - as well as an extensive classic match archive being made available, on all devices."

Yeah this is why it's good to use it in two devices for now, one iPad type and then a laptop or desktop for the replays. I no longer have the app. I mainly used it when travelling but I have heard that it is much improved. With all off my sky related issues, I am probably rejoining tennis tv in January.
Thanks both. Yes I know you can watch live on ipad. It was the replays I was asking about (sorry if not clear). I don't have a laptop, just PC and ipad. As I said I would often need to use the replay service and would rather sit in comfort with the ipad rather than having to sit in front of the PC. Shame, never mind.
Sky are offering 3 months sky sports half price just now which works out cheaper than tennis TV monthly rate so I think I'll stick with that for now and re-evaluate in January.

"Which devices will I be able to watch the new product on?
In addition to a revamped website, iOS and Android apps, it is intended that the new product will be available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Chromecast. Apps for PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 will follow."
From January all matches streamed will be available as full match replay on all devices - so you won't need to record to watch.
I can watch Tennis TV on my tv as it is a smart tv (connected to the internet). But watching it on the laptop is fine too. I often do that as I can take laptop around the house with me! You won't need to record as all matches shown will be available on demand across all devices. I think I am correct in thinking they will be available for a long time....need to check that out though.

You won't need to record as all matches shown will be available on demand across all devices. I think I am correct in thinking they will be available for a long time....need to check that out though.
Sorry to sound thick .... I also have a smart TV connected to the internet. How do you watch TennisTV on your TV? Is there an app? I just can't see how I would do this. My TV has iplayer app and a few others but I'm sure it doesn't have a tennis TV one.
The yearly subscription last time I looked was £99 but I think someone said that won't include WTA next year. I wonder if they will put the monthly subscription up. It's still cheaper than sky sports though except if I get it half price!
If you have a smart TV connected to the internet - can't you drive tenistv from your PC to watch on the TV?
What I do on my smartTV is exactly what I do on my laptop...go to the internet browser, type in www.tennistv.com, enter my user name and password and hey presto...you are there! I didn't download an app for it.
PS: The only app I have downloaded for Tennis TV is to my phone...great for middle of the night when too lazy to get up but can still keep in touch. It's a remarkably good picture for so small a screen.

I have no idea! If it is possible I don't know how to do it. I don't have TennisTV at the moment anyway. Just trying to plan for next year as sky sports is too expensive and doesn't have all the tournaments anyway.
Thanks Pat. I have never seen an Internet browser on my TV ... I guess it must have one though! I will investigate.
If this is any help, I have a Samsung TV. I press 'smart hub' on my remote and that brings up all the choices, eg: i-player, internet browser, you tube etc. Play around with it and see!!

try it before buying. You could go to the site and you might be able to see their advert and log in screen etc even though as yet you aren't able to log in as you've not signed up. if you can see the front screens, I'm sure it will be no problem. I manage it from my smart tv just as Pat said.

For anyone who like me is a Sky customer but doesn't currently pay for the sports package, they are showing Beijing and Tokyo on their free sports channel Sky Sports Mix, channel 407. Not sure if it will be the live coverage but if like me you will be at work and recording it, that doesn't matter anyway

The deadline for the offer of Eurosport Player for £19.99 for the year is now 31/1/17. I might take this out now Eurosport has the US Open in addition to the Australian and French Opens.
Is anyone having trouble accessing Tennis TV? My sub doesn't expire until the end of February 2017, but for the life of me I can't log on! There is a message which says 'subscribe or log on', but when I click on it, there is no way to log on, only to take out a subscription! I have tried resetting my password, but it makes no difference. :grrr:

I had an email on 15th Dec "welcome to the all-new tennis tv" and followed the link "reset your password" which worked eventually. They have extended my subscription from March to August because of the removal of WTA events. There was supposed to be some separate site for WTA live matches but I have not been able to find that as yet.
I have eurosport on TV so haven't needed tennis TV so far this year as everything has been on eurosport. I plan to get a monthly sub as and when I need it. I worked out what months I might need it ie. the masters events as all GSs on eurosport and it will work out cheaper for me to pay for monthly subs rather than the whole year. £19.99 for eurosport player is a good deal though for those who don't have it on TV. I usually get sky sports for the masters events and of course USO used to be on there as well, but it's so expensive! That's why I'm changing this year but I will miss their coverage and the ability to just record things when I want to. Hoping tennis TV will be ok though as much cheaper.

I am sticking with Sky as I have half price coverage. Only miss out on BT Sports which is a shame as I would like to see some of the women's matches from time to time. Only get to see them in Slams, Eastbourne and occasionally lesser tournaments on Eurosport.

Auckland main court seems to be the only one on tennis tv this week - don't think it is on Eurosport.

Does anybody watch Eurosport player via a smart TV, firestick or TV box?
I have just purchased a TV box (not a well known make) and am having problems navigating on Eurosport Player to choose the different options. I can choose the top 5 that come up on the TV screen but have no way of scrolling down to view the bottom options.
Any ideas anyone? Does anybody else have this problem. If not how do you navigate around.
I have one month to use the box and can return if not happy with it, so needing to know if I am better of swapping to a different one e.g. amazon firebox.

I am lucky in that I only work 3 days per week and 95% of the time it is from home so I always have tennis on in the background when it's on.

Yes only heard of this today and annoying though know you can get the Eurosport Player when needed, hope they can reach some agreement-however polarised views on both sides. ITV4 still covering French as well though. Virgin customers will not be affected (don't live in cabled area myself )
I can't get Virgin here. I can get Eurosport player on a TV box or laptop, but internet speeds not always brilliant as haven't got fibre yet. I will certainly be leaving Sky if Eurosport leaves them for good.

I'm a bit of a thicko and not entirely sure what this means. For example, if we have Eurosport Player, as I do, will it still be available to us? When I was watching the tennis highlights on the Player earlier today, a message scrolled along the bottom of the screen. I didn't pay much attention to it but I picked up something about 'something' (Eurosport?) not being available from next week and Discovery was also mentioned. Didn't really understand what it meant.
We still have Eurosport if we have paid for the E player, it's only on Skysports you lose Eurosport.

Ah I see! Thank you. I don't have Sky Sports and am very unlikely to ever have it. Phew!

Sky have some of the other tournaments too, but they ought to be covered by TennisTV.
We get Sky Sports and Eurosport. Eurosport is not part of the Sky Sports package but is included in the Variety tv bundle. It looks like it will no longer be available on Sky from February. What tennis tournaments will be on Eurosport other than the US Open. Can't decide whether to go for the £19.99 Eurosport Player offer or just a month when the US Open is on. Sky costs a fortune and we only watch tennis and rugby league so very annoyed at this news.

The French Open and Australian Open are on Eurosport. A few of the smaller tournaments too. It is difficult to know cos it wouldn't surprise me if Eurosport took on more tennis and Sky less in the future.

I have a sky bundle which includes Eurosport, so not happy either. I have just taken out Eurosport Player for a year at £19.99 just in case but will not be the same watching on my laptop!
I read, yesterday on the Yahoo website, that Sky has been losing customers to its competitors. So, from next year, Sky will get rid of all its satellite dishes and offer broadband to everyone (like me) who can't get their service for some reason. Currently, I have broadband with another company but they suddenly put their prices up last year.

Guess that will mess with me taking my Skybox to France when I need it to watch tennis abroad.
I think you can't go wrong with Eurosport Player this year anyway for £20...worth it for the 2 slams alone, though I do get other value out of it too. I also have Tennis TV, and after having a few issues with them that are now sorted, I can get the Masters 1000 series, and most of the 500 and 250's. And doubles too which is good. Annual sub about £75 which over 10 months is £7.50. I say over 10 months and not 12 months because Tennis TV doesn't cover the slams so you can take 8 weeks out of the year. Wimbledon is on the beeb of course so that leaves the US Open. For that I pay for a month pass and watch through my Now TV. I think that's all the tennis sorted for the year and as far as I am concerned it's worth every penny!! I still think it all works out much cheaper than Sky and you don't have to pay for all those other programmes you never watch anyway. All I have to hope for is that the internet doesn't go down!

I take it that Eurosport Player can only be watched on a computer screen and not on TV. We presently have Eurosport as part of our Sky package. Can anyone tell me what I would have to do to continue watching Eurosport on my television screen or is that just not possible?

There was an app for Smart TV's but it was suspended due to technical issues, not sure if it's been resolved yet. Nonetheless you can cast to your TV from PC/laptop/tablet with Chromecast, (https://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chromecast/tv/explore/?gclid=CPLAg-vp4tECFUI6Gwodi3EK1Q&gclsrc=aw.ds) however the quality will depend on your broadband and may not be as good as on original device. I have a wire that connects my laptop to my Tv so I can play it through the laptop but watch it on screen. It may not help if you have a PC but worth looking into if it's a laptop. If you watch it through an iPad then you could connect it to your tv issuing an Apple TV box

Yes, isn't that an HDMI cable? My son uses one with his laptop.
I rang Sky today to say I was annoyed and how I believe they would pay to keep Eurosport if it was football! They said it is not finalised and most are still hoping it doesn't go ahead. Their main reasoning is that Eurosport and Discovery have to sell to someone and they will have to drop the price as no-one will pay what they are asking. I hope they're right! :)

But Sky have been paying Discovery the same price for a few years now appararently, rather than an increased price every year.

The guy said they were asking a crazy price this time? Problem is the Eurosport offer price of £19.99 ends 31st January and the deal with Sky has to happen at the same time, so if we wait and they leave sky we are too late to get it.

I also spoke to sky today and was initially fed the same line. Then I was told that if it didn't work out they wouldn't be reducing the cost despite dropping 12 channels. I spoke to virgin who have Eurosport (bt online chat thing said it did but from other comments I guess this was wrong) so the accusation that others won't pay is a lie. Sky haven't upped what they pay discovery for years despite charging us customers more every 3 months. Eurosport haven't asked for more from sky than bt or virgin. Sky are just looking to keep the money they used to pay them. On twitter tonight sky accused discovery of overcharging but only used rough figures. Then they said that they would use the money they won't be paying discovery to spend on other shows. That was from sky corporate along with some rubbish about knowing that their customers will understand. So it seems that it is final. They are suggesting they've been pushed to this because discovery were unreasonable. But it's not more than others are paying, nothing compared to sky's profits and nothing compared to what they over paid for the football. Ridiculous for sky to accuse someone else of overcharging and be so underhand and vague.

Deadline is end of month but hopes of a reaching a deal surely fading, looks as if Sky do not have a strong case, though they claim the package of channels are not as popular nowadays. Sky Corporate also stating that Discovery could've made channels free to air and made revenue via advertising (though doubt that would be sufficient) or had separate subscription but haven't taken up other options. Both companies Seem to be intent on having battle on social media though! Heard rumour though only that at moment that BT would possibly add Eurosport to their sports package.

0ne billion % who ever remembers feeling ripped off by Eurosport?
Their player app isn't the best and they may need time to catch up.
They've always relied on selling through 3'rd parties (sky virgin etc)
Sky eh? Do they really care about anyone but sky? Erm NO! or they
would reduce their charges to compensate. I know I have a good idea.
Lets pay more for Prem League and stuff the rest of the viewers.
And people complain about the BEEB.;)
I guess it would not be too bad if BT added Eurosport as BT have quite a bit of tennis anyway.

Think prob best to get Eurosport Player whilst on reduction, BT don't have Eurosport at present-BT Sport only covers WTA events. Sky Sports has rights to Masters series ATP events, whilst some of smaller events on Eurosport. You can get all Sky sports with Virgin but think you can only get a few of the Sky Sports channels with BT. Only ever had Sky though and in not cabled area currently.
I believe Eurosport Player is also on Amazon Firesticks and Google chromecast.

Very interesting. thanks JerryD. I like the Player because you can get extra material that isn't on the mainstream channels...like commentary-free tennis(!) or coverage from all the courts. If you miss anything you can usually catch up with it on video or you can rewind to the beginning of a match. I also see that Eurosport will now cover the US Open. Happy days! (I can't remember how I watched US Open last year...I'm pretty sure it was through my Now TV.) When I initially started using the Player, I had a few problems, but I believe they have become much better. I had no issues whatever during the AO. The only thing I have a problem with is the App on my connected TV. It won't work, despite the article above which says that you can watch Eurosport on connected TV app.
Here is another post on uktennistv about coverage of Davis Cup and Eurosport. The GB vs Canada Davis Cup tie is not going to be shown on Eurosport.
https://uktennistv.wordpress.com/2017/01/21/davis-cup-coverage-missing-from-eurosport/
Eurosport player is in the google list of apps. So theoretically you should be able to put Eurosport Player on any Smart TV or TV stick/box where you can download it from google's app store. I saw Eurosport Player on an LG smart TV in a shop too when looking for a smart TV in the sales.
Having said that I bought a cheap android TV box (not well known brand) and although I downloaded Eurosport Player OK and can watch Eurosport 1 and 2 OK, it is difficult (but possible) to navigate all the screens when there more than 6 or so. I contacted Eurosport and they told me with TV boxes they only support Eursport Player on Amazon Fire and Google Chomecast. This is despite them putting Android version so and so on their website.

Me thinks it's odd that the offer finishes the day before we find out what is happening. Are they hoping they get lots of new customers joining who don't need to? I think I will wait and see. I am used to finding streams when only showing on Sky sports, it will just be like the olden days, finding them for everything.
There is also a big discrepancy in what Discovery are saying and Sky are saying - difficult to know who to believe.
But I am starting to wonder whether moving the US Open from Sky Sports to Eurosport unexpectedly last August is related to this too.

It was an offer for the AO open so I guess that's why it's January only.

There is indeed, sky say that Discovery were asking for too much money though they don't give any real figures, its very vague and inflammatory, referring to them as a billion dollar American company, not sure what the nationality has to do with anything, but sky are also worth billions so I'm not sure why they are playing underdog. Some of sky's statements are untrue however, they suggested that the reason to cut the channels and not to pay more is because discovery are overcharging when viewing is going down. The actual figures disagree, sky have been paying Eurosport the same amount since 2006 despite the number of times my bill has gone up in that decade, also viewing figures for Eurosport are up dramatically. Firstly viewing for this year's AO on Eurosport is up by 27%, for their magazine show game set and match it's up by over 200% That isn't even factoring that last year they also showed the USO so had all those extra viewers as well. Sky are showing less and less tennis every year.
I do feel that sky's decision to spend 1.8 billion (or was it 1.6?) on the football and lose some 250s and the USO shows their intentions. I am concerned that tennis coverage will reduce further. Aside from that I'm also concerned that despite dropping 12 channels in the next few weeks not only will prices not drop but they will actually go up. So I won't be paying the same for less, I'll be paying more for less. Clearly tennis doesn't matter to sky as much as it does to us. On sky's website they suggest you can watch sky sports to make up for losing Eurosport which shows they haven't even considered the tennis.

After Christmas the offer was extended until the end of Jan 2017. So possibly it may be nothing to do with the current dispute.
It did said on Eurosport's that they are STAYING on Virgin and BT so I guess that means they are on bt currently. I wasn't sure and had said they were and some said not. BT is another way to keep Eurosport then :)

I took advantage of of the £19.99 annual subscription just in case. It seemed worth the gamble, and I can have it full screen via my firestick - so thanks for the info.
I've taken an annual subscription to Eurosport Player too, Teresa, just to be on the safe side. I don't know anything about Firestick though - can you explain how it works in words of one syllable to a total technophobe please?

A Amazon Firestick is a device about the size of a 6 inch ruler, about 1/2 an inch deep. It has an HDMI connector, which plugs into the relevant port on a TV. Once plugged in you can then use your TV remote to change the TV source to that HDMI port. It costs about £35, although there are often offers on.
https://youtu.be/3Dl3xoCKdVM
You can then download various Apps onto it, just as you do a tablet computer or smartphone. One app is Eurosport Player.
Once you have subscribed to Eurosport, you just go into the Firestick click on the Eurosport App. Sign in and watch whatever is on.
You can also get various games, TV, Films etc. If you have Amazon Prime there is a lot of included stuff including music, films and TV.
Does that help?
That's fantastic - thanks, Teresa. I think I will definitely invest in a Firestick.
I am also a sky customer who does not have the option of virgin (no cable in village). I am waiting until tomorrow (last day of Jan) and will then take out the Eurosport Player offer - hopefully it will then cover AO 2018. £19.99 is not much for a whole year. I will then wait till I hear the final decision in Feb from sky and cancel. I will also go for Tennis TV just for the months when I want it.
I have a smart TV so I think I should be able to watch the eurosport player through that as it has an internet browser where you can save websites. I'm guessing it will be a bit fiddly but I shouldn't need a stick thingy. If it doesn't work smoothly though, I'll just get one. My TV used to have the app but it has disappeared and I remember seeing a notification that it was going to expire but didn't take much notice as I didn't have any need for it then.
The things that puts me off internet streaming vs TV are that internet is behind real time (I know this from watching sky go on my ipad and the result popping up as a notification from BBC sport), potential problems with internet buffering and not being able to record / pause etc. Hey ho, guessing I won't have much choice ....
Anyone with Eurosport player - does it show the TV channels with studio etc or just the actual matches?
Anyone with Eurosport player - does it show the TV channels with studio etc or just the actual matches?
Eurosport Player shows Eurosport 1 and 2 as is on TV and then additional matches.
Streaming would be OK for me at home........with much muttering........but out here in Portugal we have a wireless modem because we don't have a phone landline and we pay for broadband on a pay as you go basis because the cost and contract for unlimited broadband is way too expensive for the amount of time we spend over here. So I guess I may have to revert to watching in cafes with sports tv like I used to do years ago.

Has anything been confirmed yet about Discovery pulling the plug?

No I was told it would be confirmed tomorrow :)
I decided to get Eurosport player regardless of what happens with sky because I liked the idea of having more choice in the matches I watch. Especially for the deal price.

Not only more match choices, but many of those matches are ad free and commentary free!

Given the commentary on Eurosport, this time there was a lot about attractiveness of players, clothing and hair styles, I'll be looking forward to not having any!
I am glad that I do not have Sky. I would never pay those extortionate fees.
I took out a new EuroSport Player subscription at the beginning of the year because they were doing a cheap rate of £19.99 for the year.
I watch it on my TV because I have a TV/monitor - my computer monitor is my TV.
So I am very happy.
I bought the £19.99 eurosport deal yesterday. It works fine on my iPad but I couldn't get it to work on the web browser on my TV. Could have just been a blip and I'll try again but otherwise I will have to invest in a chromecast. Do people find it works ok from an iPad?? (as opposed to android tablet).
How do you cope without live TV for wimbledon Linda??

I can't get Eurosport Player to work on my smart TV either Caro. There seems to be a technical problem with the Player on TV. I have the Player App on my tv but when I try it I always get the message that there must be something wrong with my internet connection, which there is NOT! It doesn't work on the web browser either. Would a HDMI cable not be cheaper than Chromecast? (or the Amazon Firestick.)I am actually quite happy watching on my laptop....I just find it very convenient, it's a very clear picture and I can go anywhere in the house I like to watch! As long as I get a picture to the tennis, I am happy!
Discovery U.K. Says they are still working on a resolution

Yellowlivi only has it on her iPad and it's fine. I spoke to a murrynator who said they picture isn't as good from their fire tv stick. From the reviews I read online it seemed people found it better from an iPad than an android. I watched reruns from the AO last night in my laptop using a hdmi and it was fine but I'll guess I'll have to wait to see if it works fine whilst

Chrome cast is also £30. I don't think you can connect an iPad to a TV via HDMI cable though can you?? I think a lot of the time I will just watch on the iPad but when Steve's not home / not watching TV it would be nice to watch on the big screen.

It might be that the Eurosport is not supported on that type of TV. Have you emailed Eurosport with the type of TV etc.

No I haven't. I have just assumed that it's a common problem with Eurosport as my friend can't access it either on her smart TV!

You can connect an Ipad via HDMI cable but would need an adapter, may be more than Chrome or Firestick though. PC World (http://uk.pcmag.com/smartphones/40528/feature/how-to-connect-your-iphone-or-ipad-to-your-tv)
Google "sky discovery" .......apparently they've reached an 11th hour deal and Discovery won't be pulling the 13 channels it threatened to remove from Sky :phew:
According to Business Insider just a few minutes ago:
LONDON - Discovery and Sky's explosive disagreement has come to a head after an eleventh-hour deal between the two broadcasters.
The agreement, known as a carriage deal, means that Discovery will not remove its 13 channels from the Sky platform as it originally threatened.
Still good to have the Player, (esp at their offer price) during the Grand Slams as they cover almost every court so lots of choice.

Eurosport saying pressure from customers made difference, whilst Sky claiming the original deal was accepted. Anyway good a deal has been reached, was beginning to doubt it at this stage (thought at least some disruption)

Good news indeed. I can watch Ronnie O'Sullivan tomorrow evening.
It seems sky paid the same amount they offered last week, which is why they are saying it's the same deal, but discovery have accepted it with more control and the ability to have more channels and consumer services. These are the additional items they wanted and this why they say the deal is different and thank their customers. Immediately after sky said it was different they said these control issues were additional. I guess they were ok taking less money for more control. Like others I am happy I got the player anyway as it has more content

 I knew if I bought eurosport player yesterday they'd sort it out .... ah well .... I'll just have to make sure and use it - which I probably will cos OH is usually in control of the remote ....
He'll be happy though cos his Discovery channels will still be there! :phew:

But you will be able to see lots of differnt courts at 3 grand slams before it expires. So not a bad deal.
All of this business with Eurosport got me thinking about sky and how much I actually use all the channels. I love having sky+ and lots of HD channels but it sure comes at a cost. I've been with sky for 14 years and have decided to cancel. They offered me quite a few discounts including refunding my £20 for Eurosport (might be worth others asking for this) but I have made my mind up. I feel a bit bereft now tbh but might go back as a new customer and get a nice new box at some point.

Well done Caro, I wouldn't have the nerve! Our package is £19 per month and hubby's argument is that we would never get the same deal again. I'm not sure he's right!

They will probably offer you half price after a few weeks.

Sounds like a plan - I think I'll ring them and see what discounts I can get.
We have the box sets package which includes all the HD channels as well. It costs £38 a month. They offered it me for £22.80 I think it was plus refund of my Eurosport player. They also offered me the Sky original bundle (doesn't include Eurosport) for £5.82 a month but I would have to have taken out a new 12 month contract for that.
I will really miss sky plus and my HD channels but it's kind of a matter of principle ... they don't treat their long standing customers well. Hubby was determined I should cancel whatever they offered! I was tempted to stay but I'm sure they'll be back in touch once we have left to offer us another deal.

If you say you will stay without a contract they let you. I have the full sky package, box sets, sky movies and sports with HD. I also have sky broadband and sky phone line with anytime weekends. In December I got sick of it going up and up so I called and said I wanted to leave. Eventually they offered me a much better deal but asked for a new contract. I said I'd take it without the contract because I don't trust them enough to sign up for 12 months and they agreed. So I'd sooner leave and they said ok have the month by month. I got the discounts without the contract.

I could have kept what I've got now with a discount and not taken out a new contract, it was the £5 odd deal that they wouldn't give me without a contract. I also asked a new box as all new customers get a skyQ box now but no go on that either. I will probably really miss the convenience of sky but it is getting so expensive and Steve (my hubby) doesn't really watch any of it, just the free to air channels. I've now got eurosport player, I'll get tennis tv on a month by month and a chromecast and I'll be sorted. No monthly fee, just the tennis tv when i want it which won't be every month. We might go for nowtv, may even go back to sky at some point if they beg me enough!
Interesting that you got something knocked off for buying Eurosport Player when Eurosport didn't get ditched in the end.

I suggested cancelling Sky too but hubby wasn't having any of it - he wasn't prepared to lose HD .... we have so few options here - and our broadband is so slow at times .... hey ho. Will just have to continue to pay their extortionate monthly fees .... I might get in touch with them though to see what deals they can offer .... we did get a free HD box a while back but had to jump through a few hoops for it. We wouldn't survive without sky+ .... apparently ....

Have you considered an HD freesat box Jane. The cables for a Sky box can plug straight into the back of the boxes. That is what I am considering - and one with a PVR in it, so can still pause live TV and record etc.

Freesat doesn't have as many HD channels as sky though.
Just found out, on the BBC's website, about the TV licence going up to £147 next month. I wonder what they'll spend the extra money on.
Recently subscribed to Tennis TV and so far I am liking it. I especially like the match replays as I am usually out at work when there's tennis on and previously I would have to record the whole day on sky then scroll through to find the matches I wanted and if on more than 1 channel I sometimes didn't get them. With Tennis TV I can just pick the matches I want to watch, no hassle. They show more too eg. Evo's matches this week. I also invested in a chromecast and the picture quality is really good too. Happy customer
We are ditching our package which currently includes Eurosport and BT Sport - mainly cos BT have been overcharging us (charging us twice for the BT Vision!) and they have only just noticed, decided it was partly our fault and won't refund - plus we had "amended" our package to drop it down cost wise but BT have not done this and still took the same amount on DD
Thinking of getting Eurosport player which will include a lot of the tennis (BT gives me the WTA tour) I can only subscritbe to one thing, and I know you rave about Tennis TV but thats just the tennis unfortunately or I'd have that LOL
Anyone else using the Eurosport player?
Tennis TV is all the ATP tournaments but NOT the grand slams. So I have both - I got Eurosport when it was £20 for the whole year and that will last me till after next year's AO .... so I'm sorted for now :)
I am feeling a tad bereft after cancelling sky which we had for 14 years! We have a freeview PVR so can still record, pause live TV etc. I have Eurosport player and Tennis TV so I'm ok for tennis but am missing having everything in one place on sky, my sky box and some of the sky atlantic programmes. It's the first week so I'll see how long we last without it ....

I can understand the feeling. I was going to cancel Sky but they continued my half price Sky Sports for another 6 months. So will be going though the same thing then. One thing about Sky is that the it is so easy to use the record functions.
I am staying somewhere else for 3 weeks and have purchased a NOW TV box for £15 and they gave me a one month free trial of all the entertainment stuff. Plus I can watch the Walter Presents All 4 foreign dramas on it too, which are not available on the Sky platform. In the future I can then use it to get Sky Sports etc just for a day if necessary.
