Phew! But there were 3 very weak UEs in that game. One OK but three - is it Andy, the court (end), the wind, something else?
C'mon Andy!

Wowzers! What a match this is! Don't know whether to watch or hide behind the sofa lol
Huge hold "let's go!". 5-4
One game away from winning the match for Andy.
Remember, it's a TB finish in the third set if required.

Can't afford 3 errors a game, 1 in a set now 3 a game at present
What's the situation regarding tie breaks, is it standard or keep playing
Tie break not advantage
EDIT: Commies just confirmed
One more chance to avoid the lottery of a tie-break.

Andy stepping up but couldn't find way to break-nerve jangling time in TB-come on!
All that and it's "only" 1-0...
SJ soooo aggressive. But mini break.
Serve & volley, *2-1 Andy.
It's lottery time.

Seriously even though I knew he would do it........I'm wrecked!
Thank goodness but he made way too heavy weather out of it. SJ played extremely well but Andy appeared to do little to counter it. He's been on court over 2 hours with a mixed doubles still to play. He really needs to raise his level for the next match. C'MON MUZZAH!!!!!
Phew! :phew: that's all I can think at the moment.....relief!!!:):GBflag:

just insane. Really have to up it next round
Well done Andy Onwards and upwards
The Rio courts have been compared to be most similar with the ones in Indian Wells and we know what that means for Andy, a struggle.
How huge was the long point at 30-40 on Andy's serve at 5-5? The match right there.

Friends coming round shortly- my measures will be large! Tiebreaks scare the bejeezus out of me (stems from watching Edberg lose his title to stich 4-6 7-6 7-6 7-6) but Andys last three have been simply awesome!

What have we all done to deserve this? :sofa:
First stress (which seemed major at the time), I couldn't locate the match at all on the TV and had to watch on laptop for a while. Oh how simple life would have been if that was all I had to deal with! Silly me!
:barmy:
but we're one step on... Of course, why wouldn't we be! :olympics::gold::yahoo:

Well that was much too tight.
Andys just managing to scrap through - could play so much better and more aggressively.
Fingers crossed it will all come together!

A bit close for comfort but fabulous breaker from Andy, showing his championship form when it mattered and really had to earn the win in the end-well done! Needs to keep the focus better when he's ahead at times and be more assertive overall but still in important stages his class shone through and suppose top form more important in the latter stages! Sure he has a few more gears!:swingin::swingin:
All I can say is it's a good thing I didn't know about him losing his serve in the 3rd set...... It really does seem like the courts don't suit his game. He has done very well to come through.

My favourite part of the match? When Andy looked pretty tired at 3-4 and hubby said, he's going to lose, he's exhausted!
:) I just took a deep breath , said he always looks like that, and waited!
Heehee thanks Andy!

One bottle of wine down, decided we hadn't really enjoyed that one during the 2nd and final sets.
So we're opening a 2nd. starting at the end of the first set it's gone:

It's almost like it matters too much to him and he's tightening up on shots and not trusting himself to go for it. I know when I play and get that feeling I grip the racquet too hard and the ball doesnt go the way I want it to.

Back in to see it was the right result, well done Andy  will entertain myself later by reading through all the strung put posts
Kei/Monf should be a bit special, really like both so don't mind who wins, just want long match.
Yesterday when he finally clinched it, I was screaming so loud the neighbours commented this morning; today I couldn't raise a whisper. I'm too old for this sort of trauma two days running!

Far below his best today but the gut determination was at its height. Phew, phew and phew again. We really didn't need that 2 nights running. I had forgotten what it was like on the murraycoaster.
I just kept whispering Believe always Believe

I blame that on feeling too tense, or not tense enough. Or the weather. Or the surface, or my opponents, or my partner.
omgosh , what a nailbiter that was , all I can say is YIPPPPPEEEEEE ANDY !!!!!! such determination !!!!!
Checked in on here to see a run down on the match while I'm away. Happy to see that Murray got the win but concerned to see it was a tough one, can't help thinking nerves and the weight of the competition make be getting to him. He's close but his next opponent is likely to be a tougher one.
Had guests all afternoon and evening. I sneaked a look in at the match while I was preparing dinner...first set bagel...great...then it was 1 set all. Oops! But I thought Andy will never let this one go in light of yesterday so I felt pretty comfortable about the outcome when I had to leave it to attend to my guests. Kept myself shut off from the phone, tv etc so I could catch up with the final set later. Blimey! I could have saved myself a bit of stress had I watched it knowing the result! I will say our man is such a fighter and good for him! Loved the 1st point of the breaker! I hope the stiffer challenge with Kei tomorrow (actually today...it's now after midnight!) will heighten his focus and stimulate his killer instinct. He always responds well to a challenge. Come on Andy, let's go! :olympics:

I saw first set whilst combined with watching Ennis and Thompson do the high jump and eating dinner easy peasy. By time id walked to station for train, he had lost 2nd set. When I got to work it was 4-4 . What's going on?! I prayed he would pull through and when I finished work I checked my phone and found he had. Phew but its obviously hard work for him. Really hope he at least gets to final. Maybe pressure is getting to him, combined with courts and lack of practice due to rain. I hate these three sets its so hard when its a 1 set shoot out!

Andy is Andy and he won't change, that is what makes him such a fascinating player to watch, you never know what is coming next. Long may it continue!
As long as Andy wins the last point it's O.K. by me.
