So thrilled for Jamie and Bruno. Watched their match and it was great to see them get the better of the NO 1 seeds. Wouldn't it be fantastic if he got a third title. Excited for him and Bruno.
Brilliant news to wake up to!

Jamie/Bruno face the unseeded team of Carreno Busta/Garcia Lopez who beat Marc and Feli Lopez in straights.
Jamie and Bruno seemed to find their A game last night - it's been a bit hit and miss lately. I really hope they maintain it in Saturday's final and win another Major title. Then Jamie and Andy would both be on three - with more to come, of course!
J & B will be playing on Saturday at 5pm BST. The names of the Spanish duo giving the ump quite a mouthful! So hope J & B can do it. That would be such a treat pre-DC!
Agree that J & B have been inconsistent of late but beating the best team in 2016 must have boosted their confidence for the final. I don't think that their Spanish opponents are a regular pairing but of course are very talented singles players. On paper J & B will be favourites so hope that doesn't affect them too much.

I thought Jamie and Bruno had been playing much better during the US Open, much more determined. Jamie will always have his dips, he always has but much more fired up at the moment
Wow! Great news! Looking forward to watching the final tomorrow, Livestream willing!
Very best of luck to Jamie and Bruno. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Just started the warm up. So wish more people would turn up to watch. Doubles is so entertaining, they deserve more of a crowd. Anyway good luck Jamie & Bruno, here's a Mexican wave for you :mexican:
The match starts in two minutes. Listening to it on the US Open radio.
Jamie Murray has his serve broken in the first game.
Rats! They have just said that Jamie and Bruno have only been broken four times this week and they go and drop serve in the first game. It's quite depressing to see hardly anyone in the stadium for a Major final.
Jamie and Bruno break back.

Totally dominant especially in the 2nd set. Well done guys you deserved this one.
Why is Rusedski suggesting Andy might not play the Davis Cup final should GB make it there? Clearly there's a clash with the Tour Finals but no way Andy would miss the DC final.
What a great guy Bruno is.

Me too- thought I'd see some of match but they were so quick! Just so delighted for them.
Really pleased they won. Was watching. Don't think they needed to mention Mr M - this was Jamie's moment. Can't see Andy missing the DC final if we get there. It would make his sacrifices this year meaningless.
Rusedski doesn't know what he's talking about he's SO pompous these days IMHO and what did he ever win of note??
I was reminded the other day that Rusedski's big claim to fame in reaching the US Open final was achieved without playing a seed en route, a draw of almost Djokovic proportions. ;)

Not a lot. If I remember rightly, he won SPOTY for getting to the US Open final - there can't have been many sporting achievements that year!!
:dance::dance::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::dance:: dance::dance: Well done Jamie and Bruno!!! I'm a bit late with my celebrations because my daughter phoned towards the end of the second set - how, very thoughtless of her - and I've only just caught up. To be fair (even if Greg isn't always ;)) in 1997 getting to a slam final was considered quite an achievement and it did get a lot of publicity, know it wasn't most challenging draw but Bjorkman was tough in semi. That year Tim Henman was 2nd and Steve Redgrave 3rd. He did wins Paris Super 9 (equivalent to Masters ) beating Sampras in 1998.
It was said at the Oz Open this year, that it was the first time that brothers had been in both Singles and Doubles finals. Wouldn't it be great if next year our boys managed to go one better and win both finals?!
So proud of J & B for taking the title with fantastic, calm play. Well done guys! :bravo: :trophy:

US Open (http://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/interviews/2016-09-10/jamie_murray_bruno_soares_interview.html?chip=5) - Transcript of Jamie & Bruno's press conference and there's no escaping Andy. ;) It's a pity the video didn't include Jamie's answer to the last question as by his own admission he gets emotional talking about it.
Q. If you look at your achievements alongside Andy, I think you both, between you, have what now, six Grand Slam titles, two Olympics golds, and a Davis Cup? That's not bad for two kids from Dunblane, is it? What's your thought on that body of work?
JAMIE MURRAY: Yeah. I mean, look, yeah, I think we have been able to do a lot of amazing things in our lives on a tennis court. Yeah, I guess when you're kind of living in a moment you don't always think about all that stuff. But, I mean, yeah, I mean, you kind of take a moment and look at -- yeah, it is amazing what we have been able to do from a country of no history of tennis at all. Yeah, it's just -- yeah, it's quite amazing thing about it. I get quite emotional kind of talking about it. And, you know, I think, you know, my mum has done some amazing things. For everything that she's done for us and for tennis in Scotland, you know, she's able to get the tennis club built. You know, I think if we want to kind of leave a legacy of what we're doing, you know, it's the best way to do it. I really hope that, you know, the Scottish government back her plans. You know, I guess we'll probably find out in a few days, I think.

Well done to Jamie and Bruno. Stepping out of the shadow of Andy indeed.
But I think it is a bit unfair to equate 3 doubles slams (one a hit and a flirt), with Andy's 3 singles - SO much harder to achieve that.

The last I read in the papers about the appeal hearing was that the group opposing Judy and Colin Montgomery has now involved environmentalists who are objecting on the grounds that the proposed area of development is a corncrake habitat. The decision of the appeal panel is expected sometime this week. I think if Judy and Colin are turned down again - Stirling Council has already rejected their proposals twice - they will have to admit defeat, which would be a great pity.

Yeah they did good to come back after losing the first set 2-6. What's nice about them is both players are so bubbly and personable - the French team were quite dour in comparison. Good match! Caroline Garcia lost it tho'. She should have served out for the W in straights and lost the plot.
So happy for Jamie to finally be winning stuff this year, having come so close last year. I was at the Wimby final he lost and he looked so downcast. Such a difference this year and long may it continue. He and Bruno seem to gel really well and I hope they stay together.
