TOKYO 2011, QUARTER-FINAL: Andy battles past Nalbandian - 6'4, 7'5

Next up Nalby - Andy will face him in the 1/4 Final on Friday.

The Argentinian has just come through a 2hr match against Croatian Ivan Dodig 7'6, 6'2 and is clearly playing well. Now that match is over Andy will return to the Centre court to play his doubles match with Jamie against Ito/Nishikori. Let's hope it's another quick match and not tooo tiring!

Andy lost a couple of matches to Nalbandian in 2005 (famously in a 5-setter at Wimbledon) and 2008 but has won their last 3 encounters in 2 or 3 sets and has a H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=N301) lead of 3-2. The most recent win was a 6-4, 6-1 in R32 at the Cincinnati Masters a couple of months ago.

On current form Nalbandian could pose a threat but Andy has the weapons to beat him.

The match will take place on Friday 7th October; approx 10am onwards

Hi everyone, just wondering if this match is being broadcast on any of the UK sports channels? I've looked up all the matches so far on Sky and there's been no coverage of this tournament that I've been able to find! :(

Slightly OT, but I remember when Sky Sports used to show the tournament in Thailand, which in 2005 was Andy's first ATP final! Nowadays they seem to focus almost solely on the Masters 1000's, the US Open, the World Tour Finals, and elite-level Davis Cup... :)

If it says 9.30am on livescorehunter then that means 8.30am BST. Although they seem to only be allowing one and a half hours per match, and I would think that two hours per match is more like it when you take into consideration getting the players on & off court and warmup times.

Andy's 4th after matches starting 12noon, allowing for 2 x 1.5hrs and 1 x 2hrs would mean a 5pm start which is 9am UK.
Trouble is if any match goes to 3 sets you'd be adding on half hour chunks to that.

So, any time from 9am onwards but more likely 10am? Difficult.

Djokovic is out of Shanghai, still not recovered, I think the injury is more serious than is being let on, backs can be very difficult and once you have an injury there it can flare up again. We've only got to look at Safina who has been forced to call it a day. Any way good news for our Andy as he won't play Rafa until the finals.

I'll be surprised if it actually starts at 6am, with Rafa playing first. It's rare he gets through a match in 2 hours, so by the time you add waiting for the players to come out on court and the warm-up it could well be 6.30 or later. I hope so anyway - I'm not sure I can drag myself out of bed at 5.30, and it takes me half an hour to get washed/dressed/get downstairs/feed and brush cat/put the kettle on.
