Talk about Krygios and McEnroe teaming up together.

Ooooh this looks like a lot of fun. I'm definitely going to try and get tickets. Although very convenient for me, I have to be honest and say that I'm not sure it's fair that it's at the O2, which already has WTF. But forum friends are welcome to stay at mine, if it makes attending easier (just so long as you like dogs :maggie:)

Why would they want to play anymore tournaments. There are already so many to fit into the year.

Exciting as I am sure it would be, they cant have it both ways.
On the one hand they are all saying - and with justification - that the schedule is too crowded, then another one is dangled.
Its OK for Fed - retirement is imminent and it would suit him but I don't want to see Andy worn out as he came near to being in Cincy.
Resist it for a couple of years Andy
These exhos aren't as demanding as proper tournies. It's basically a matter of getting well paid for a bit of practice and having fun with your mates.

And giving enjoyment to the spectators.

Players often use these exhos to try out any new shots etc.
Yeah sometimes players use them to loosen up or try new things. There's not really any pressure there. Allows you to get some match play without getting to invested. This looks good but I don't think I have more to spend on tennis lol
I've had a look at next year's calendar, and timing wise it could work if the players were just to play the masters tournaments and DC.
However, with no points on offer, what would be the point? Yes they would step out and play, but with only cash on the line, they wouldn't play at their best. So it seems to me like a publicity stunt and money making idea - not least with the fans not getting good value for money.
I love the idea of team tennis, and team GB at the Olympics was great, but as LC says, the schedule is already too crowded. Tennis is already a high profile global sport, so the publicity and popularisation arguments don't really work for me either. Seems like abit of a Fed PR stunt to keep himself amused while he's injured and planning for retirement.
Well, we'll see..

Andy very non committal saying it doesn't really fit in with DC if a team get to semis- which sounds like he's committed to DC again next year. Woohoo!

Certainly exhibitions have their place but timing not ideal and can't say I'm too fussed about this one. The Andy Murray Live show taking place on September 21 was earlier billed as an annual event.

Now that would be nice- though I don't suppose it will be Glasgow every year which is only way I could manage mid week. But suppose I can't be greedy, must share him around. (Reluctantly)
