And as Andy Murray wins the set, it's announced that Grigor Dimitrov will replace Gael Monfils at the exhibition in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Gael Monfils has unfortunately had to pull out of @AndyMurrayLive due to injury. Luckily we've replaced him with @GrigorDimitrov
They'll have to replace Andy as well at this rate......he looks exhausted.

Mentally and emotionally more than physically, I would say.

Nice idea but poor Andy must be wishing it wasn't happening now. He so obviously wants that break. Been wanting it since NY!.

Does anyone know if this is going to be shown on TV
Yes, it will be live on Sky from 7.30 pm.
Capital FM will be covering it before Sky TV starts.
Schedule - www.andymurraylive.com/schedule/ (http://www.andymurraylive.com/schedule/)
Looking forward to a real fun evening......
Whilst I know, deep down, that Andy has to do what he feels is right for him and his health, I will be absolutely gutted if he pulls out. Unlike many of you on here I have never seen Andy play live.

I hope everybody going has a lovely night. I'm sure Andy would only pull out if he absolutely has no choice. He'll get some treatment and a few days relaxation so pretty confident he will play for you. Will try to catch it on a livestream and will look out for some familiar faces

I truly hope for your sake he plays. I am fairly certain that even if he is struggling, (which is what you fully expect), you will see him take to the court, even if it's just for a couple of games. I am sure that given its for charity, they could swap players in and out.
Incidentally I still have my original ticket, up in the middle of nowhere. Can't be bothered to do anything about selling it, so if anyone is in range and would like a not very good ticket for free, just pm me.

The charity event hasn't exactly come at the right time for Andy but whilst he should put his own interests first it is only an exhibition and with a few takes rest barring any major issue,Andy should be ok to take part. Whilst the timing made sense turned out not to be ideal but with the demands of the tour probably few choices for this anyway.

It would be a nice touch if fellow Rio gold medallist Gordon Reid was a guest.........then Andy could use his wheelchair to play Dimi. ;)

Great to see them having fun and for such a good cause.
They obviously get on really well, which is nice to see.
.................. and Grigor wins the first set. What's the betting Andy wins the second set and then narrowly wins the MTB?
I think Dimi's doing it for Dani. ;) Good to see him there. Shouldn't they be pushing the charity aspect more with how to donate money?
Also a first, an UnderArmour shirt with the Union flag on it, couldn't do it for the DC however.
I think Andy should quote that other Andy and tell Grigor to "keep it social". ;) 3-3
Great match but I think there may have been just a little orchestration about that! Well done Andy and well done Grigor!!
True Alis, but great to watch:thumbup:
i'd forgotten about this - just tuned in for tb10
It was a tougher and longer match than I expected. Thought there would be more "exho" points but maybe it's easier just to go for it.

what a fun thing to watch. No stress, no :coaster:, just lots of wows and lots of laughs.
I think the Andy v Grigor score was pre-decided but how well they do it (ie so we can't really be sure!)
Exhibition doubles always fun. Loved the way Jamie slowed his serve right down for the non-professionals - like he was serving to a five year old! :)
Hope they do it again and I hope to go next time. :bravo:
wonderful idea and so Andy
Isn't Jamie Baker getting married this weekend too? Tough choice for Andy!
Didn't it just make you wish you could have been there?! Such fun. Good to see Dimi having fun too.
Really enjoyed my night at the Hydro. Being a typical tight Scottish git I'd probably have enjoyed it just as much on telly :grrr:

They did a lot of plugging the charity and how to pledge money to the crowd- probably was tv ad breaks. Re the shirt, I think it's to do with Nike being the official sponsor of the DC team- probably not allowed to make his under armour top look like the Nike ones. But he can't wear Nike as part of under armour deal - his track suit doesn't have th Nike swoosh. He obviously managed to get an Olympic clause to wear team kit there.

Gordon Reid was 'subbed' on, got a great reception. He came on wearing his medal so Andy went off court and got his out as if to say , I've got one of them too. It was a fantastic night. Bumped into JimmyG at the food court- hope you enjoyed your night- and Angie and Ally were just in fron of us.
Really enjoyed the night at the Hydro. All the players made sure everyone had a fun evening. Particularly liked Gordon Reid, he got a great ovation, but all celebrities excelled themselves.

They should play Davis Cup in that Arena :-).
Also, good news regarding Andy being fine :-), seems like he is ready for a push for world number 1 and good thing is, Novak has loads to defend.
Really enjoyed my night at the Hydro. Being a typical tight Scottish git I'd probably have enjoyed it just as much on telly :grrr:
Glad you finally got to see the main man live. Enjoyed it as well. Impressive to see such a large stadium almost completely full. Really enjoyed seeing Gorden Reid and Tim Henman. Also nice to see Dimitrov throwing himself into it. Can't have been easy for him, knowing that he was there simply to give Andy Murray someone to beat. It was fascinating watching the skill involved in manipulating some of the points to ensure the "right" man won.
Do agree with people who said the venue was not the best. Definitely vertigo inducing. If I went again I would want to be nearer the floor. Too big to have the true Davis a Cup atmosphere, even though that's what the compère was trying to generate. Only minor point is I can't have been the only non Scot/Glaswegian there, it would have been nice to have the rest of us acknowledged. The Murray brothers do have a lot of supporters who are not Scots as well....!!!
Definitely worth going to. Bought my T shirt - another one for my collection.
Heading home today - exhausted after the week.

It was a brilliant event. Even Mrs MP - who has never attended a sporting event in her life - really, really enjoyed it. The match with Grigor was high quality tennis and surprisingly competitive. The doubles exhibition was hugely entertaining with the guest subs, and the Bulgarian playing in a kilt, with even Tim getting in on the act.
A great, great night. If it's on again next year we'll be back!
That was a great, fun night. Lovely to see all the boys enjoying themselves on court and putting up with, and reacting to, the friendly heckling from the crowd! I just wish I could have heard more when the lads were miked up, I really struggled to make the comments out, but maybe that is my hearing that's the problem.
There with Angiebabez and 29adjacent and bumped into Wimbledonwestie and Jimmy G. Hope you all enjoyed the night too.

Not surprisingly I really couldn't hear many of the comments either, but have recorded it. It's being repeated on Saturday on Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports Mix (which I think is a free sports Channel).

Watched it on Sky and I couldn't clearly define the comments either. Have trouble with my hearing but himself said it just wasn't clear and the commentators were talking over it which was annoying.
Great evening though. Had a feeling they had agreed to win a set each and let the best man win the tie-break in which Andy rushed to a great lead..and then remembered it wasn't supposed to be too competitive, love him.
Thought he still looked a bit weary at the end but now is his chance to have a nice normal weekend at Miles' wedding and a few days total rest.
(Great to hear the continued friendship between Andy and his ex-coaches - he certainly inspires, and gives, loyalty

Loved it. What an extra treat for Jamie and Andy fans. Enjoyed the singles.Loved seeing Dimitrov and Tim wearing the kilt and enjoyed the guest appearances by Gordon Reid, Ally McCoist and Gregor Townsend. Couldn't hear the introduction of the man in the rolled up shorts so have no idea who he was. Spotted some tennis friends in the audience. The seats looked comfortable and people seemed very close to the court. Wish I'd booked a few extra days now and gone. It was a fun night and hopefully lots of money raised. Well done Andy et al.

It certainly was a great exhibition and very entertaining, all for good causes! Would have to say I preferred the singles but doubles certainly was fun,not quite the same atmosphere as DC but suppose you can't really make the comparison as they are different types of events. Coming after Davis Cup though would've been less likely to go though if I wasn't fairly local.

Andy wants regular tour event at the Hydro
http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/14756783.Andy_Murray_exploring_idea_of_hosting_reg ular_Tour_event_at_the_Hydro/
@Supergran - I dithered, but now I am on the train home I am glad I hung around to go. It was quite an iconic event. I managed unwittingly to book a hotel right next to Central Station, and so the journey to and from the venue was very easy. A 5 minute train ride.
It was great to see Gordon Reid playing alongside the others. It didn't feel forced at all. It was a really nice touch, and must have made him feel truly part of the gang of amazing Scottish tennis players - which of course he is.
Patlowe and I also had a great morning in Dunblane. The sun shone for us. They are so proud of the Murray lads. They really have given the town something clean, and honest to be proud of, after all those years of being remembered for such a senseless act. I found the memorial to the lost children, very moving. I liked the fact it was in the main body of the cathedral. The children are still very much part of their community.
It was also lovely to meet their old primary teacher, who remembers them with such affection. By the sounds of it, one of the boys was angelic, and the other one of those lovable rogues, who as as teacher sometimes makes you want to bang your head against the wall, even as you are trying not to smile. I will leave you to make your guess about who was who....!!!
Only disappointment was they had sold out of postbox fridge magnets. So if anyone visits if they have them in stock, please could you get an extra one for me?

I had a great night at The Hydro with my daughter Elaine and we had Angie, Alison and Aimee sitting right behind us and James across the passageway. It was fun although I also could not make out what the boys were saying. Grigor and Tim looked quite good in the kilt (or skirt as Grigor called it). Angie did shout a few things their way but it was all good fun and we are looking forward to next year.
Hi Teresa - which teacher was that? I am just being curious. When I worked in the school from 1979 till I retired in 1995 there were at least eighteen classes. I'm pleased you enjoyed your visit here and some on-going improvements will be completed next time you come

I endorse everything you say about our delightful visit to Dunblane last Mon morn, Teresa. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was just what we needed to cheer us up after Sunday. Fab night at the hydro! We met mark petchey in hotel b4 match...he was so nice & friendly! Had a lovely meal with aimee, ally & murraynator friends of ours. Met loads other forummers inside arena, we all seemed to be seated really close to one another strangely enough & best of all i FINALLY got andy to sign my DC book & tell him how much he is loved & how proud we are. Grigor came across a lovely friendly guy & wears a kilt well! Emotional moment when andy &.jamie were joined oncourt by our other local hero Gordon Reid. Amazing night

I could only watch on TV although hopefully there will be a repeat and I can get to go it next year. It made me realise how stressful the proper matches can be. This was just a fun, happy occasion and was really enjoyable. I enjoyed the doubles match more - so entertaining and funny - until they got on the no-hopers - Ally and Gregor - then it became a bit boring.
Shame the time limit was a bit short - was so much fun at the beginning and with Gordon Reid. Better if they could have had a last couple of games with the original 4 back on.

I hadn't noticed but thought:
a) there isn't always a red button unless there's something alternative going on;
b) there are red button channels for Sky that you can record.
Could be talking rubbish.

I usually use the red button for checking up on scores (the old txt),so was checking up on St. Petersburg scores & nothing, so obviously "googled" it and the BBC are not allowing Sky to use it "Beyond their control" was the saying, probably to do with money.... but can be accessed on normal & freeview TV...Don't know it Virgin Media are the same......anyone????

An update on the amount raised but still no consensus on the figure. ;) The BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-37765340) are reporting £350,000 whereas UNICEF say £305,000. A tidy sum whichever.

We are thrilled to reveal that Andy Murray Live raised £305,000 for children’s charities. Thank you to all who donated! #childrenfirst
Andy's facebook confirms the total raised as £305,000.
A worthy total, but if you do the sums with attendance and ticket prices then the venue or organisers must have made pretty near the same out of it.
