View Full Version : SHANGHAI 2016: R3 - Andy's past Pouille 6'1, 6'3 and into the Quarter Final
Andy vs Lucas Pouille Thursday not before 11.00 am
I'm expecting another Andy win.
Should be another win from Andy but Pouille has been playing well so it might not be a very comfortable one. Hopefully still only two sets though.
Head to Head 1:0 to our chap. 6:1, 6:2 earlier this year in Rome I think.

This one is a bit more tricky but if Andy is in half the form he was in against SJ he will be going into the semis
All the best of luck, Andy :thumbup::thumbup:

Pouille just played great and got beat 6-1! Andy rules
Andy wins the first set.
I'm off, tomorrow, for a few days. So, I'll be missing the rest of Andy's matches.
Great play to force the break. 1-0
The first point in both sets have been incredible even though Andy lost them both.
Consolidates the break. 2-0
3 aces help Pouille to hold. 2-1

Wow! Great performance. Andy's just bubbling. Anyone feel that he's getting that 'aura' back again, because I do. Fear factor was cut short after his 2012/13 rampage because he had back surgery but after winning Wimbo and retaining gold he's on his way again, and this time, god willing, Andy stays fit and strong and rides the aura/confidence/fear factor all the way to no.1. GO ANDY!!!!

Great win by Andy; made Pouille look very ordinary. Go Andy, cannot wait to see you at the 02!!!!!!!!
Cue, "Andy sounds like he has a cold" panic. ;)

+1 Rosie
If he keeps this up Jokers gonna need a few more reasons/excuses in his bag.
BRING IT ON.
I can't believe that I said yesterday that Andy's match today was going to be a tougher challenge!! How could I! I should have known better! It was nothing only an Andy masterclass. It became evident very quickly that Pouille was totally outclassed! And the winning shot!!!....Magic! And the lob was fantastic today as well. Well done Andy!  He will be playing at the same time tomorrow...11am BST. Gael or David G...I don't mind which. Will be a good one regardless.
I can't quite get my head round these stress free matches. He goes out, takes him a game to get settled, and then he decides he would rather be somewhere else than on the court, and treats his opponents like my cat does a mouse. Mauls it, gives it a almost fatal wound, then toys with it for a while, before going back to bed.

Good result, didn't get a chance to see this one..... ****** work!!!!
Yet another lovely match from Andy and what about that finishing point! Pouille's talent is obvious and he is pleasant on the eye to watch but it was a case of the apprentice v the master today. Monfils tomorrow could be more of a test but Andy is showing so much confidence at the moment that I'm sure he'll be fine - but just in case :cauldron:

Well that's not exactly going as planned with Goffin fighting back and now into a 3rd. The longer these two slug it out for the better, but on current form you can only see one person really giving Andy a match this week.

Great news to come home to.looking forward to tomorrow's match.

Me either Teresa - it's a shock to sit through these matches with no roller coaster or stress because it's clear he is going to win!
I was lamenting the fact, yesterday, that the seeds had collapsed on Djoko's side of the draw but they've crumbled on Andy's side today. Who would have thought that both Raonic and Wawrinka would go and then Monfils as well? A really strange tournament but as long as Andy's still there I'm a happy bunny!

That's just what I was saying yesterday - its like I am watching another Andy Murray that I always knew was there but was sometimes hiding. But yes, good all around with hopefully more to come

Good focus, good match, just watched the recording when I came home from work. I will continue this trend as he seems to be winning with me not watching it live........too superstitious to risk it.
Well done Andy!!! :swingin:
Really enjoying this tournament. C'mon Andy :)
