Andy plays JWT in the Vienna Final.
Muzzah had an easier SF which turned out to be an Exhibition match after Ferrer was forced to withdraw. By comparison Jo played over 2 1/2 hours to beat vetaran Ivo Karlovic.
Andy leads their H2H (http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/players/fedex-head-2-head/andy-murray-vs-jo-wilfried-tsonga/MC10/T786) by 15-3.
Jo's 3 wins were in 2014 (QF, Canada Masters), 2008 (R128, Oz Open) and 2004 in the R16 at the Nottingham Challenger!!!

From an interview in l'Equipe with Tsonga and why a fear of going to the dentist may be justified...
"My sinuses were operated on three weeks ago. When I was fifteen, a dentist kindly left some toothpaste in my sinuses, and they became infected. To give you an idea, fungus had grown in my sinuses that, put together, amounted to the size of a ping pong ball. The doctor who operated on me said that all my tendinitis problems and all my physical problems could quite well be connected to that. All the particles would become lodged in the joints, in the tendons ... Apart from that, I also had infections in the roots of some teeth. I went to see another specialist. All those operations took place in the space of four days. But suddenly, I have no pain, my knee is stable and I'm breathing much better. I was only breathing through my mouth. It doesn't need saying that everything's better."
Well have the TV on. Come. On Mr M - Millie wants some ice-cream......!!!
Here we go - c'mon Andy!!
Comfortable hold and it appears that the first serve is working.

Rackets with nets weird but it's been working well

Haha! They're little nets. I think they're great!
First set to Andy - 6-3 :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
:thumbup: One down one to go.
According to the ATP scoring app Andy is 77% first serves in.
This is the only Vienna match I've seen, ball kids with rackets?
I remember the nets from two years ago. They seem like a good idea to me - I'm quite surprised other tournaments don't use them.
Andy wins the first set 6 - 3. What has Tsonga done to himself? It does suit him, but he looks like someone from the either the 1960s or 70s.
There she blows!!! Well done, Andy.
Shot
Breaks again good lad
I think it makes him look old, or is that me.
1 - 0. It looks like I have to change my mind and make it a straight sets victory for Andy.

:cauldron: Remember Jo was a set and a break down against Ivo yesterday.
The crowd are definitely trying to pump Jo up - they want to see a third set.
I like one sided matches, but Tsonga is much better than what's going on.

Three great points from Jo - deuce.

Fabulous performance from Andy, great to see him in a rich vein of form-whilst not best form in the initial rounds he certainly turned it on! Just a few errors at crucial point in the 2nd but Tsonga certainly challenged and Andy done so well to finish it in 2. I think he is. I didn't used to be a fan because his little winning dance made me cringe a bit, but I read a really heartfelt article he wrote about just how hard it was to slog away, week after week, without ever getting his hands on the really big prizes. It was why I was so pleased he got a Silver medal in London 2012.

The right result and now looking forward to Andy becoming world number one.
Wonderful marvellous Andy! He was never going to lose that match, was he? What a year he has had and he 100% deserves it all. I hope he gets his reward of #1,if not this year, early next year. Always love his speeches. They make me so proud. I also love that when he plays a spectacular point, (and there were a few of those today) he simply turns round and gets on with it....no big looking for praise gestures to the crowd! Maybe a quiet fist pump. Or a 'let's go'! 3 tournament wins in a row!!! Awesome! Paris awaits. :bravo: :cheer: :trophy:
Huge congrats to Andy for that win, an ace to win the 1st set, an ace to win the title. What a heart he's got! Have to admit I went walkabout for a couple of games after he lost his serve and was peeking at livescore but I did watch most of the tb. Me too. *Cannot wait*. And no I won't be quiet about it! (not even for Bardot :love:).Far too massive and exciting a prospect to play down. And as for Andy when he gets to no 1 he will be the hunted man, will have to learn to eat pressure for breakfast and love it, so it's all good practice. Heavy lies the crown, but Andy is more than up to the task.

God Bless... We will enjoy that for you and with you
Once again, a fabulous result for Andy, of course! He played well today.
He's never won 7 titles in a season before. Wonderful!
Of course he's had an excellent year - but his results in the last 6 months have been pretty staggering. Since the Madrid Open - from around 9 May, his win-loss record is 52-4.
His winning streaks in that run:
11 wins until his RG final defeat;
22 wins until his Cincy defeat;
4 wins until his USO defeat, and then a Davis Cup defeat;
15 wins since then!
I think in the last 10 tournaments he's played, he's won 6 of them, reached the final in 2 others (RG and Cincy) and quarter final in the other (USO).
These have to be his best stats over this period for any season.
Plenty of talk about world number one - Andy would be the oldest first-time world number one since John Newcombe in 1974. But since he's held the number 2 ranking for 76 weeks since 2009 - it will feel like a travesty should he not reach top spot. Fingers crossed it is just a question of when rather than if.

Brilliant match to watch - such entertaining tennis - Andy played brilliantly - Jo was his usual self and I'm glad Andy was able to win that breaker cos a third set would've been extremely scary to watch!!! Fantastic win today, real life meant I was unable to watch but I was furiously live scoring it. I really don't know what I will do if that 'thing' happens with the ranking, I really cannot imagine.
On another note, I hope Andy won't mind me 'dedicating' his win to my good friend J T who is going through a difficult time at the moment. We text each other during matches at home & work, sneaking looks at scores etc. Thinking of you J x
