Andy leads the H2H 2-0, both this year in straight sets, Shanghai and Rome.
Should be an easier match for Andy today.

Let's hope its easier - needs to save some energy for the Nole final!!!

Should be....could be. The crowd will be with Pouille which can work either way. If he starts to go for big shots, which he tends to do, and they come off things could get tetchy.
However, feel a bit more confident that I did at the start of the third yesterday. It seems that Andy just isn't too keen on that court
Let's hope its easier - needs to save some energy for the Nole final!!!
Nah ... Nole won't get to the final ;)

Best of luck Andy.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
All the very best of luck, Andy :thumbup::thumbup:
Djokovic wins, as usual, so Andy should be out soon.
Andy wins the toss and will serve first.

Have a feeling this is going to be another difficult match for Andy. Already at 0-30 and the French cheering every point.
Andy saves 2BPs and holds. 1-0
At least the crowd has woken up!
I would say Andy silenced the crowd but there's no need. ;)
Great return to break. 2-0
What a stretch volley! 30-15
Good serving when needed, saves BP. 4-1
Holds 4:1. That's the way.
The crowd seemed to wake up as soon as Pouille won a game. 4 - 1.
Keep calm and beat the young French upstart. His time can come. Just not for a couple of years.
this lot in paris make the stuffed shirts at queens looked positively animated, maybe its capital city syndrome...#toclassytocheer
Big returns from Pouille and he breaks. 4-3
Pouille breaks back and the crowd comes to life.
Pouille breaks back and the crowd comes to life.
Hopefully that will rile our man.

Rumours of the court being slow are apparently false. Some players saying it's faster than Shanghai which was considered the fastest of the master's series.

Crowd will be even quieter now. Come on Andyyyyy :jitterbug:
Andy takes it on the 4th BP. 1-0
at a boy
now give him nothing hold
cmon
I'm breathing much easier than I was yesterday.
Now can he hold? The officials will be praying Mr M does it in two. According to the commentators they are quite a bit behind.
Andy saves BP and holds. 2-0
lets pick up the insurance
cmon
Clench that fist Andy. 3-0
there she blows
double break
cmon
Come on lad. Help the tournament organisers out. They need you to get this done - 4:0:-)
I hope it's not too premature to say that Andy's QF will be at 6.30pm tomorrow evening.
Big FH for another break. 5-0
I am watching live in real time now:-)
This reminds me of Andy's match against Dimitrov here in 2014 where he also seemed to lose interest quickly.
Andy wins the match 6-3, 6-0 great stuff :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
The perfect match for Andy.
Nothing like a bagel. Top man. Good to have a short one, after yesterday.

A Master Class from Andy. Great win and nice quick match for him. Well done!
Brilliantly done, Masterclass!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
Andy didn't agree to do post match interviews with Sky to talk about Djokovic. ;)

Great win Andy and glad to see Grigor pushed Nole to 3 sets
Blink and you've missed it! Awesome! Well done Andy. Another master class for Pouille. Love watching Andy in that mood. Well done!! :bravo: :bravo:
Andy didn't agree to do post match interviews with Sky to talk about Djokovic. ;)
AGREED, first real indication from him tho that he is looking for nole to fall this week
Just a few gems from the BBC live reporting of the match for your delectation.
Murray races to 30-0 with an ace but his third double fault sees Pouille pull it back to 30-30.
The Frenchman gives up trying to return the next. Match point.
But credit to the 22-year-old he risks coming to the net and wins the point with great control on a volley.
One of Murray's many weapons is the 'Serve That Gets Him Out Of A Spot Of Bother™'
He delivers two of those.
Game, set, match and quarter-finals.
You get to 30-0 quite easily and look to see the game out but then you realise you're playing Andy Murray who like a kid in a toy shop at Christmas keeps pestering the parent until the parent relents and buys them the latest dinosaur toy (or whatever kids like these days).
Deuce.*
Advantage Murray.
Break Murray.
Game Murray.

 A joy to watch after yesterday's gruelling battle. Masterclass, Andy! :cheer:
Wins in 1hr 12, plays some amazing shots, gives a masterclass to young Lucas; don't we just love our Andy!

Glad it was such an emphatic win for Andy and certainly seen some sublime tennis! Lucas competed in the first but it wasn't long before he was blown away, almost perfect for his chances here after the tough opener! I get the feeling Andy isn't focusing too much on the ranking right now though of course would love to take it here. However sure he is ready for anyone should he reach another final and if it's Djokovic so be it.

That second set was dreamy!
It looked as if he wasn't going to run for it but couldn't resist in the end. Amazing pass.

Only one thing to say JOB DONE Brilliant performance, came up to be counted when necessary. Well don Andy.
Must say I do think Pouille is an exciting player and when he gets a bit more experience under his belt and stability in his thinking he will be really good.... but today he met the master

Great show by Andy who is looking so confident at dealing with any show of resistance from the opposition.
Thankfully a clean win compared to last night.
Well done Andy - I'm liking the lack of stress I now experience when watching him! Even last night I managed to contain myself despite it being sooo tight!
Wonderful to watch and a lovely end note to my masters trip. Didn't stay for Berdy match.
Gulp. Have arranged to meet French friend outside venue at 3.25! Hope things run late.
I'm dead jealous Pam! Would LOVE to be in my favourite city right now, standing outside the venue ready to watch Andy!
That stretch volley.
