Just seen that the tickets I paid £115 for this year are now £150 for 2017, slightly above 30% more (both +fees), cheaper tickets are available at £115/125. These are the new prices for Fri, Sat and Sun.

Sale details: (Nice BTM timing for anyone in Ottawa!)

The more expensive tickets are for enlarged seats. Up to £150 in South and North Stands for the Thursday/Friday. Saw this information a couple of weeks ago on the LTA Aegon Championships website.

Ridiculous prices!! It was bad enough before. Just too much IMO. Will be saving my money for wimbledon but more than happy to go if Gill's friend gets us freebies like last year ... ;)

Didn't see much play over a few days last year and doesn't seem great value compared to Wimbledon (could only go to one of them anyway)

It seems to me that they are cashing in on Andy's success, not good value for money

I know they're dear- -but I've never been and I can't get to DC so my friend and I decided this was the year. Bought the temporary membership last week and got semis tickets today. Will try for finals tix next sale. Excited!

I go tix for semis too today. A friend got them for the Friday. Finals day came up as not being available.

WimbledonWestie

I can only do sat and Sunday. Went for Saturday today as there should be more tennis that day but wd love to get Sunday tix too. Will try on BTM presale. Depends how quick they go, can't get online till 10:45.

I feel this pre-pre-sale thing is a bit of a scam. Do we know how many priority ticket memberships they put on sale and how many final day tickets were allocated for this group It is like putting on a bet without knowing the odds. My friend did manage to get one but think she was lucky. I hope to go via another means. Queens is a fun tournament and a pretty setting but it's money money money! :grrr:

WimbledonWestie
18-01-2017, 23:36
Your probably right but we decided that as we were restricted to what days we could go and we wanted to go to queen's at least once having never been before, that it was worth paying the extra to increase our ticket chances- partly because I'm restricted to when I can get online to buy tickets. So having secured tickets we feel it was worth £15 each. But I get exactly where you're coming from. Very smart from a business point of view mind you.

Glad you think it's fun. Been watching it all my life so am excited to finally get to experience it. Just glad I live near enough an airport that I can do London tennis trips in term times.

I've really enjoyed it the past few years but this year we will only just be getting back from Peru so it wouldn't be possible. Hope there isn't another hike next year when I will be hoping to go

Had a great time at the semis last year .... and all for free! Sat right on the barrier opposite baseline and could just talk encouragement to Andy when he was our end, he was so close we didn't need to shout. Won't be paying to go this year but if freebies come our way again, I'll be there.

Has anyone received the email yet with the code for tomorrow?

No I have not although if I go into my membership area there is an access code. They said it was unique on a mail I got in my membership. I presume the one in our member bit is therefore unique. If you want to discuss in a pm, then message me. (I have to work shortly but can get back to you after 8pm.)
I'm now in a bit of a panic - hate these ticket buying situations.

Inspectors?! :sofa:

Big team of council inspectors in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday- -lots of lesson obs, meeting, scrutiny of paperwork. Yuk. But we got great feedback and amongst it all I managed to get my O2 tix on Monday thanks to my friend getting online and today my queen's final. Tho like everyone else not without stress. Originally thought I'd need to wait til 10:40 break but as class were occupied I took a chance that boss went catch me and had a go- could lent get on til back of 11 by which point it was take any 2 seats that are left. North stand row ZE- - I suspect we will be first with the weather news from up there. But we've never been before and now have semis and final. It will be fab!

I'm going on the Monday. I wasn't going to to at all as I'll be by myself this year but I decided I'd rather go alone than not at all! So just the Monday (so far!) meaning I don't have to take a day off work.

Having been to Queens before I am now so glad I decided to go again this year and got tickets for the semi and the final - I paid the extra £30 for early bird tickets. (I still remember the DC tie there against the French a few years ago, it was a wonderful occasion). Bit concerned about the 40% increase in capacity as I enjoy the intimacy of the venue and fear the ease of getting inside etc might be affected.

themass15
07-02-2017, 08:06
I am pleased to be going, especially if Rafa is going to play as well. Of course that is he assuming he will be injury free. I didn't realise there was a 40% increase in capacity. Most of that seems to be the North Stand. I hope they have a lot more toilets because there was a problem before at the end of matches.

have they changed the tax laws or has nadal just changed his view on paying tax ?

Silverdee

Possibly being injured and out of the game for so long has made him rethink his priorities and could be that he is so glad to be back and playing well.

Rafa played in 2015 and went out in the first round to Dolgopolov. Last year he was due to play and had to pull out injured, so this is the 3rd year in a row he has stated his intention to play at Queens.

I was just about to say the last two years when we got tickets for semis ans finals we did so knowing he was due to play, but one year he went out and then withdrew

If you definitely want to see someone, now you would have to go for quarters, semi or final and hope they get to that stage. Unless of course there are a lot of rain delays.

BB and I decided it was too expensive this year but I'm regretting it now! Would have done the same as before and flown over for the day, that way I wouldn't need respite for my brother. Would have been one flight less to pay for as well now that BB is on the mainland. Bit late now to be having this conversation with myself......

Just what I was thinking. I hope, now that the capacity has greatly increased, it won't lose that special atmosphere. Was such an easy venue to get inside and move around. I was shocked to see that there are now around 70 steps in the North Stand. Thank goodness I am in east stand!

I am sure there will be more tickets going on sale nearer the time. No ... the offer I'm hopeful of getting like last year is a freebie :big grin: Can't afford to buy tickets this year, it's so expensive on top of Wimbledon.

I decided not to buy any tickets as I wanted semis or final but think they're over priced. Will join the day pass queue probably.

Just announced on 5 Live that 6 out of the top 10 at Queens. Does anyone know where the entry list is? They also said Goffin will be playing along with Andy, Stan, Rafa, Raonic and Cilic. Who is the other player in the top 10?

Yes, the ones I got in the members pre sale came 2 weeks ago, then the other day I got the ones from the BTM pre sale. Must be going out in different batches. The first lot took me by surprise as I wasn't really expecting them til beginning of June.
