Well done to Dan Evans. We saw him play Granollers in searing 42 deg heat. Outplayed in the first set, got it together in the second and brilliant in the third.
Likewise against Thiem (although not such oppressive heat). Brilliant determination and his first win against a top ten player

Hard luck Dan but congratulations to Gilles Muller who seems to be one of the nicest guys on tour. A great achievement to win his first title at age 34.

Tough for Dan :sad: but if he had to lose, I'm pleased it was to Gilles who has finally got a title, especially deserved after all his horrible injuries. Congrats to him :clap: And his boys are very sweet - camera kept going to them and they were loving the match...until Dad was serving for the title, at this point they seemed more interested in their ipad :laugh:
